As readers already know , Oracle's hefty exposure to OpenAI (the two have a $300 billion deal in which Oracle is building AI infrastructure to sell services to OpenAI) means the stock and its debt are being traded as a proxy in a debate over OpenAI's future. designer491/iStock via Getty Images This article updates my review of December 2024 in light of current holdings and recent performance. DFAT strategy Dimensional US Targeted Value ETF ( DFAT ) is an actively managed fund launched as a mutual fund on 12/11/1998 and listed as an ETF on 06/14/2021. Historical data for DFAT starts in June 2021. The fund has a portfolio of 1313 stocks, a dividend yield of 1.40%, and an expense ratio of 0.28%. As described in the prospectus by Dimensional , The Portfolio may emphasize certain stocks, including smaller capitalization companies, lower relative price stocks, and/or higher profitability stocks. Relative price is primarily assessed by the price-to-book ratio, although additional metrics may be considered, such as price-to-cash flow and price-to-earnings. Profitability is assessed by earnings or profits from operations relative to book value or assets. Valuation and profitability criteria may change from time to time. The portfolio turnover rate is very low for an active ETF: 9% in the most recent fiscal year and 3% in the previous year. I will use the benchmark chosen by Dimensional: the Russell 2000 Value Index, represented by iShares Russell 2000 Value ETF ( IWN ). Portfolio The portfolio is mostly invested in small and micro-caps (93% of asset value), with a focus on financials (29.1%) and significant exposure in industrials (17%) and consumer discretionary (13.6%). Other sectors are below 10%. Compared to IWN, DFAT mostly downplays real estate, utilities, and healthcare. Banks are the heaviest industry, with about 17% of assets. DFAT sector breakdown (Chart: author; data: Dimensional, iShares) The portfolio is highly diversified, and company-specific risk is very low. The top 10 holdings, listed in the next table, represent only 7% of asset value, and the heaviest position weighs 0.78%. In a motion to dismiss filed on Friday , SerpApi argues that Google doesn't hold a copyright on its search results, alleging that the engine is built "on the backs of others who posted 'the world's information.'" In December, Google sued SerpApi , claiming the smaller scraper had violated the Copyright Act by using "deceptive means" to access and scrape its search results. Google also alleges that SerpApi found a way to bypass its anti-scraping SearchGu … Read the full story at The Verge.

Iskandar Zulkarnaen/iStock via Getty Images The iShares MSCI Mexico ETF ( EWW ) provides a focused play on large- and mid-cap Mexican stocks, placing investors squarely at the nexus of emerging market risk and North American economic integration. As global supply chains continue to shift and nearshoring strategies become more popular, Mexico has re-emerged as a compelling location for manufacturing. Data by YCharts Meanwhile, changes in monetary, fiscal policy and trade policy add a layer of uncertainty that could be both challenging and opportunistic. My main goal will be reviewing these factors, the fund characteristics, as well as valuation risks, and coming to a conclusion. The Fund The iShares MSCI Mexico ETF aims to provide exposure to a broad range of companies in the Mexican equity market. The ETF passively tracks the benchmark MSCI Mexico IMI 25/50 Index , which is meant to track the performance of approximately 99% of the free-float-adjusted market cap in Mexico. The weighting is market cap based, and around 56% of the holdings are classified as large cap (above $10 billion), and 27% are mid-cap companies, with a market cap between $2 billion and $10 billion. The total number of constituents is 39. The fund is not currency hedged, so the investors are burdened with the currency risk of the peso fluctuating. The 25/50 Concentration Constraint in the name of the index means that the maximum weight any single issuer can have is 25%, and the cumulative weight of all issuers with weight above 5% cannot exceed 50%. Moving on to the fund, the expense ratio is 50 basis points, and it earns a C+ Seeking Alpha expense grade. Liquidity is high, with an average daily dollar volume on a 3-month basis around $112 million and an AUM of $2.5 billion, ranking it with an A Seeking Alpha Grade . The fund is given an A Seeking Alpha Dividend grade, with an above-average dividend yield of 3.01%, a 5-year dividend growth CAGR of 38.6%, and a time span of 25 years of consecutive...

Muhammad Gunawansyah/iStock via Getty Images Introduction The last time I covered First Majestic Silver Corp. ( AG ), I rated them a Hold, highlighting their recent expansion and solid financial position, but despite their strong fundamentals and catalysts, the risk-reward wasn’t compelling enough to justify an entry, calling it a “good company to own and pay attention to.” With silver nearly doubling from that point over the course of a couple of months before retreating yet still being up ~33%, AG’s current valuation seems to be way ahead of itself, with a price that fully captures current silver prices while using generous assumptions, leading to a Strong Sell downgrade. Internal Developments First Majestic Silver IR Following the exceptional jump in silver, AG’s Q4 broke their underperformance streak they had in 2025, with record production, EBITDA, cash flow, mint revenues, and pretty much everything, beating the market’s non-GAAP EPS expectations and delivering $315.4 million in free cash flow despite the ~$210.66 million spent on CAPEX. Note that the FCF they present excludes working capital changes, taxes, and expansionary CAPEX. Although they don't hedge their production, meaning AG can enjoy the full spot prices, they have a couple of streams that limit them quite a bit, with Wheaton ( WPM ) - which recently signed a $4.3 billion silver stream with BHP ( BHP ) in Peru - being entitled to 25% of the gold and 25% of the silver produced at San Dimas at a bit over $600 per ounce and the former Sandstorm/actual Royal Gold ( RGLD ) getting 20% of the gold at less than $500 per ounce at Santa Elena, on top of a few net smelter royalties. Note that the Santo Niño discovery from last year is within the stream area, by the way. These aren't uncommon, but it's important to be aware of their existence. Regarding the tax dispute with Mexico, the country’s Supreme Court ruled against them back in late 2025, and now they are recording an accrual for it while the internat...

Steve Borthwick needs a charge of electricity after the power cut in Scotland and team’s 21-year-old forward could fire up title challenge The third weekend of the Six Nations used to be a time for contemplation and reflection. After the fury of the first two rounds, everything would stop for a much-needed fallow week in which to restore energy levels. And now? The battle-scarred gladiators are about to “go again”, putting their bodies on the line out on the pitch or, in the case of travelling supporters, in the pub. Player welfare rules OK? That debate still rumbles on but certain other areas – fitness, mental resilience, squad depth – traditionally reserved for the tournament’s closing fortnight are increasingly front and centre. The rhythm of this year’s championship is subtly different, particularly for sides such as England with only two home fixtures. Slip up for a second successive Saturday and that’s it, folks, until November in terms of high-profile Twickenham opportunities. Continue reading...
