Leftists Install Unauthorized Sirens Across LA To Warn Illegals Of ICE Raids Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news, Radical leftists in Los Angeles’ Highland Park neighborhood are installing unauthorized sirens to alert illegals when ICE agents are nearby, creating a city-wide network to sabotage federal deportation efforts. This brazen move highlights the escalating desperation of open-borders agitators, who are putting communities at risk by harboring criminals amid President Trump’s aggressive push to remove illegal aliens from American streets. A grassroots group led by community activists has crowdfunded and begun deploying small red siren devices on private properties, bypassing city permits. The sirens, activated remotely via an app, are designed to warn residents of spotted federal immigration operations. Liberals in Los Angeles are now installing actual sirens across the city to warn people of ICE which can be heard from half a mile away. This is totally illegal. Needs to be shut down immediately. pic.twitter.com/WcC5q3cpfO — johnny maga (@_johnnymaga) February 14, 2026 “We’d like to ultimately have this along all the different streets so they can take shelter,” said Amanda Alcalde, who created the Highland Park Community Support Group. Flyers posted in the area explain: “If you hear the siren, ICE is in the community.” Activists claim the goal is to give families time to seek safety, with one noting, “I’ve seen a lot of fear in people’s eyes. I don’t see a lot of our ethnic minorities out in the day to day. It’s big change. It feels dystopian in a way.” Another organizer added, “Unfortunately, ICE raids that have been happening. We have got to get more creative and find ways to protect our community members.” At least 20 sirens have already been installed, with more planned by February 23. The devices can reportedly be heard from half a mile away, turning neighborhoods into alert zones for evading law enforcement. This tactic echoes broader leftist i...

A Crew Dragon spacecraft docked with the International Space Station on Valentine's Day, and astronauts popped open the hatches at 5:14 pm ET (22:14 UTC) on Saturday evening. The arrival of four new astronauts as part of the Crew 12 mission—Jessica Meir and Jack Hathaway of NASA, Sophie Adenot of the European Space Agency, and Andrey Fedyaev of Roscosmos—brought the total number of crew on board the space station to seven, giving the US space agency a full complement in orbit. The number of astronauts living on board the station fluctuates over time, depending on crew rotations and private astronauts making shorter stays, but since Crew Dragon began flying regularly at the end of 2020 NASA has sought to keep at least four "USOS" astronauts on board at all time. This stands for "US Orbital Segment," and means astronauts from the United States, Canada, Europe, and Japan who are trained to operate the areas of the station maintained by NASA and its partner astronauts. After her death, police dropped a case examining Katie Madden’s former partner, despite evidence he had repeatedly told her to kill herself Revealed: The true toll of female suicides in UK with domestic abuse at their core Hours before Katie Madden took her own life, she had a tense phone call with her former partner Jonathon Russell. Russell was on bail after allegedly assaulting Madden – he was banned from contacting her – but the conversation took place nevertheless. There was a witness to the call who gave evidence to the inquest into Madden’s death. Mason Jones, a friend of Madden’s, said Russell was “vile” and “abusive”. Although Jones said he could not remember the exact words Russell used, he said: “I recall Jon saying at least once that he was in control of the town and would end her life if she didn’t do it herself.” Continue reading...

When she did, police dropped domestic violence inquiry The number of women who are driven to suicide by domestic abusers is being under-reported, and their cases overlooked by police, in what has been described by experts as a “national scandal”. Domestic violence suicides are already growing at such a rate that a woman in an abusive relationship is now more likely to take her own life than be killed by a partner. Continue reading...

As Indonesia’s stock market plummeted in late January, President Prabowo Subianto was furious. Key cabinet ministers huddled at his rural hillside home in Bogor, an hour’s drive from Jakarta. The meeting quickly turned into a blame game, according to people familiar with the matter, who requested anonymity for fear of reprisals. Prabowo questioned if local tycoons and their businesses were responsible, and asked if any foreigners were trying to mess with him and Indonesia, the people said. A few of the ministers told him that wasn’t the case, pointing the finger solely at officials with the financial regulator and stock exchange who had failed to address MSCI Inc. ’s concerns about investability and market transparency, the people said. Fire them all, Prabowo retorted, according to people familiar with the conversations. The heads of the Financial Services Authority and the Indonesia Stock Exchange both resigned in the aftermath. To Prabowo’s team, the response to Indonesia’s worst equity rout since 1998 shows a decisive leader who acted quickly to stem the losses and hold officials accountable. They view the two-day selloff as an isolated incident, and intend to push ahead with plans to take on the country’s tycoons, nationalize resources and stretch the limits of fiscal structures in place for decades. Yet interviews with more than half a dozen people familiar with the inner workings of his presidency, many of whom asked not to be named, say the MSCI episode encapsulates broader concerns about the direction of Indonesia under Prabowo. They described a leader prone to lashing out, who is surrounded by advisers with conflicting agendas and who lack the attention to detail to follow through on his bold plans. The widening disconnect between Prabowo’s inner circle and how he is perceived — both by Jakarta elites and international investors — adds to the tumult since he took office in late 2024. Deadly riots have flared over inequality, authorities have seized parcels ...

Welcome to CFO Briefing, a newsletter dedicated to corporate finance and what leaders need to know. This week, KKR & Co.’s chief financial officer spoke with Bloomberg Television about the private equity firm’s purchase of sports investor Arctos Partners and KKR’s exposure to software. But first... Flooding the zone Alphabet Inc.’s massively oversubscribed mega debt sale this week raised $32 billion in less than 24 hours and instantly added new contours to the corporate bond market. Consider this: The $100 billion in orders for the seven-part US offering was among the strongest ever for a new corporate issue. The portion of the issue denominated in British pounds instantly made Alphabet one of the largest issuers of sterling investment-grade debt, and it included an ultra rare 100-year bond , the first from any tech industry borrower since Motorola in 1997. The 5.65% coupon bond due in 2056 was the most actively traded US investment-grade bond on Wednesday and Thursday this week. And now consider that Alphabet, the parent of Google, is just one of the so-called hyperscalers amassing the financial wherewithal to fund its artificial-intelligence ambitions. The industry’s debt binge will likely have widespread effects. It could change the composition of credit indexes, leave passive funds exposed and make spreads a less powerful driver of overall performance given the high credit ratings and low risk premiums for the issuers involved. The hyperscalers could add as much as $120 billion in net corporate bond supply this year, according to Guggenheim Investments. “The added supply is likely to put modest upward pressure on spreads as markets absorb it,” the firm said in a report this week. —Heather Landy For more Bloomberg coverage of Alphabet’s landmark debt sale: Alphabet Has Perfected the A-to-Z of Bond-Market Dominance AI-Driven Debt Binge Threatens to Disrupt Passive Credit Funds Bond Investors Are Betting on Another 100 Years of Google On the Bloomberg terminal PREL...

asbe/iStock via Getty Images The red flags have been building for the S&P500 ( SPY ) for weeks, even months. Leaders in Tech ( XLK ) and the Mag 7 have lagged, while Staples ( XLP ) and Energy ( XLE ) have led. Bad earnings have been punished severely and good earnings have been sold. Last week, even good inflation news was sold. However, red flags are always present, and it's important to see that markets are actually acting on them. Recently, the technicals have threatened to roll over, but every bearish move has been "saved" to keep the S&P500 chopping slowly higher. That behaviour may have changed last week. This article looks at a potentially bearish shift in the technicals and what may happen next. S&P 500 Monthly February is the second worst month for the S&P500, and the second half tends to be worse than the first. That doesn't bode too well since there is already a 1.5% loss for the month and last week closed near the January lows. I still wouldn't say there is a compelling monthly reversal but there is a lower high and lower low. Furthermore, not every major reversal comes with a solid monthly signal - 2025, 2022 and 2020 all had one, but 2007 and 2000 did not. SPX Monthly (Tradingview) The rally has reached 7002 at the channel highs and just above the major target of 6958 which is the 161% Fibonacci extension of the H1 drop . The next target after 6958 is 7490, which is a measured move similar in size to the 2020-2022 rally and the 2022-2025. I doubt it gets that high, at least in this phase of the trend in 2026. The January low of 6789 is initial support, then 6720, and the October/November lows of 6521-50. A DeMARK exhaustion count is on bar 9 (of 9) in February. This signal has led to a drop of at least 10% on the last 3 occasions. As an aside, February has to close above 6840 (the close 4 bars previously) to complete the signal. It can still have an effect, but it would not be finalized. An example of an incomplete signal comes from the 2022 bottom, w...
