For the first time in more than a year, property agents expect house prices to rise in London, a survey revealed Thursday. The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors said price expectations narrowly edged up in the capital at the start of the year, having fallen during every month in 2025. The monthly survey is closely-watched for indications of where the UK property market might be heading. While it measures the views of its members, other surveys have pointed to an extensive downturn in London’s house prices, the Office for National Statistics recording the longest losing run since the financial crisis. Chancellor of the Exchequer Rachel Reeves sent a chill through the property market in the run-up to her Nov. 26 budget, with expectations of a new “mansion tax” on millions of homes. It's an institution steeped in tradition and resistant to any quick changes in the way it does things. But like it or not, the justices are about to see artificially created versions of themselves, essentially avatars, speaking words that they actually did speak in court but that were not heard contemporaneously by anyone except the people in the courtroom. Northwestern University professor Jerry Goldman has been creating ways to make the Supreme Court more accessible to the public since 1996 when his nonprofit project, Oyez, went live on the internet. The site sought to provide audio of the court's oral arguments and opinion announcements in every case decided by the Supreme Court dating back to 1955 when the court began taping its courtroom proceedings. Constellation brought in $930 million in net income, which was a decrease from the same quarter last year. However, adjusted operating earnings improved from $860 million in the third quarter of 2024 to $952 million in 2025. Constellation's stock is down substantially to start 2026, having declined more than 23% as of Feb. 9. Overall, the power company continues to provide long-term predictability, but could use a bit more operational efficiency to improve profitability metrics.
