But if I take you through why I'm thinking the way I do, then perhaps you'll grasp my point. American Tungsten ( TUNGF ) might turn out to be the finest tungsten mine ever discovered (that is, admittedly, unlikely); it could well start to produce, and it might gain special pricing as being a domestic source of material. It's all a fun story. But I'm deeply unconvinced that at this stage it's worth as much as the market currently prices it at. It could be that as time passes and more exploration is done then it grows into that current market value - surpasses it even. But that just isn't the same as it being worth today's market value. Or, at least, that's my contention. Junior Miners American Tungsten used to be Demesne Resources, and they used to go out looking for magnetite - an iron ore. They were, shall we say, pretty small. But they had a quotation on one of the Canadian exchanges, and as is the way with junior miners, new management came in, changed the strategy, raised new funds, and off again into a bright new future. Now, that can sound dismissive, but that's not what is meant. This just is the way the small end of the mining stock market works. The beginning of every mining operation is always hugely speculative. No one knows where the deposits are; when a deposit is found, then it must be tested, delineated, measured for size, and so on. All of this costs money, and no one at all will offer a loan for such speculative activity. So, equity capital from shareholders it will always be. Thus, small exploration and junior ("junior" here means "not yet producing") mining companies always are shareholder funded, which means being on a market to be able to sell shares.
