Interim manager: ‘There is no time to find excuses’ ‘The position of the club is one that nobody can accept’ Igor Tudor says there is “no time to find excuses” as he attempts to halt Tottenham’s Premier League slide. The 47-year-old former Juventus manager, brought in last week as the sacked Thomas Frank’s replacement until the end of the season, believes instilling the players with confidence is his most important task. “The team need, I believe, first of all, to get some confidence, to get some courage, but also, in same way, the concrete things in the pitch,” Tudor told Spursplay. “Of course, I’m coming here knowing that situation is not easy. There is no time to find excuses. What I said from the first day here, each of us need to give something something more, something extra.” Continue reading...

In a recent study, University of Alaska Fairbanks paleontologist Matthew Wooller and his colleagues radiocarbon-dated what they thought were pieces of two mammoth vertebrae, only to get a whale of a surprise and a whole new mystery. At first glance, it looked like Wooller and his colleagues might have found evidence that mammoths lived in central Alaska just 2,000 years ago. But ancient DNA revealed that two “mammoth” bones actually belonged to a North Pacific right whale and a minke whale—which raised a whole new set of questions. The team’s hunt for Alaska’s last mammoth had turned into an epic case of mistaken identity, starring two whale species and a mid-century fossil hunter. “ The first signs that something was amiss” The aptly named Wooller and his team have radiocarbon-dated more than 300 mammoth fossils over the last four years, looking for the last survivors of the wave of extinctions that wiped out woolly mammoths and other Pleistocene megafauna at the end of the last Ice Age. Two specimens stood out immediately. Based on the radiocarbon dates, two mammoths had lived near Fairbanks as recently as 2,800 and 1,900 years ago. Wooller and his colleagues had been looking for the youngest woolly mammoth specimen in Alaska but were completely mystified. Read full article Comments

Denis Shevchuk/iStock via Getty Images Introduction TC Energy (NYSE/TSX: TRP ) is one of the few midstream companies that I have not yet reviewed, despite being heavily bullish on the sector. The energy infrastructure landscape underwent a significant structural shift in 2025, a period defined by the rising electrification demands and the prioritization of capital discipline. TC Energy, having just completed its transformative spinoff of its liquids pipelines , could be a very interesting and focused play on the rising demand for natural gas. TRP has emerged as a company focused on the two highest-growth segments of the energy transition, natural gas and nuclear power. This strategic narrowing culminated in a series of record-breaking operational performances and financial results that have blown all expectations. I will dive into why I believe TRP could be a great play ahead. Current Dynamics I believe that 2025 was a successful transition period for TC Energy as it shifted from capital-heavy construction into an operational optimization phase. Q4 served as a primary catalyst for renewed investor confidence, in my mind, revealing that the energy firm exceeded key indicators despite the inherent market volatility. Quarterly revenue came in at C$4.1B , slightly beating the consensus of C$4.08B. This top-line performance represents a robust 16.5% Y/Y increase. This has been heavily linked to the increased utilization of the company’s natural gas pipeline systems, which saw unprecedented flow rates due to seasonal demand and new capacity additions. The company also posted an EPS beat of 1.85% to reach C$0.98. On a full-year basis, TC Energy generated $11B in comparable EBITDA , which is a $1B increase over 2024 and a 9% annual growth despite removing the historical contribution from the Keystone system. This was largely thanks to higher transportation rates on the Columbia Gas and NGTL systems, alongside the successful ramp-up of the Southeast Gateway pipeline in Mexic...

Nielsen’s "Gauge" report for January showed that television viewing rose to a 12-month high during the month, as consumers watched more sports via cable, mostly on Disney's ESPN ( DIS ). According to the report, which is a monthly snapshot of total broadcast, cable, and streaming consumption that occurs through a television screen, ESPN’s coverage of the College Football Playoffs provided a significant boost to cable sports viewership. "ESPN alone saw an 82% monthly viewing uptick," Nielsen said. The football coverage included the quarterfinals, semifinals, and championship games. Cable news, on the other hand, benefited from an active news cycle during the month and rose 13% from December, Nielsen said, aided by a 17% viewership gain for FOX News Channel and a 29% gain for CNN. "Notably, ESPN and FOX News Channel each represented 2.2% of total TV usage in January, and together, the two networks comprised 21% of this month’s cable viewing," Nielsen said. Sports also boosted broadcast viewership in January, in which the NFL games were the top 15 broadcast telecasts. The segment was further helped by the broadcast of dramas like High Potential on ABC and news. "Overall, broadcast viewership was up 4.2% versus December and represented 21.5% of TV," the report said. As expected, streaming continued to represent the lion’s share of TV usage with 47%. The segment was helped by, among other things, Stranger Things on Netflix ( NFLX ), which contributed 15.4B viewing minutes in January; Peacock’s ( CMCSA ) new original series, The Traitors; and simulcasts of NFL games carried on NBC. The company reported net income due to fair value assessments. Organigram has the number one position in terms of Canadian cannabis markets. The company is expanding its global footprint and has hemp-derived THC products in the US. Organigram recently acquired Motif Cannabis, and Q1 financials include its operations. The stock price is down 4% over the last year. The price is down 5% since I covered the company last May on Seeking Alpha . The cannabis sector remains volatile. There have been no new developments for rescheduling cannabis in the US. Canadian LPs are focused on European cannabis markets, but there have been some setbacks. I continue my rating of a Hold for the company. Q1-2026 Results Organigram reported CA$63.5 million in revenue, representing a 49% increase YoY and a decrease of 21% QoQ. The YoY increase was due to growth in the Canadian cannabis segment, higher international sales, and the integration of Motif into Organigram's financials. International revenue increased 51% YoY. Gross profit was CA$23.3 million, a 37% increase YoY and a 27% decrease QoQ. Profit margin was 37% versus 32% YoY and 40% QoQ. The company reported a net income of CA$20 million versus a net loss of CA$23 million YoY and a net loss of CA$38 million QoQ. The net income was caused by fair value adjustments to the company’s BAT fund. The company reported negative free cash flow for the quarter. Organigram’s cash and equivalents have decreased to CA$8.4 million, a historical low. The company has nominal debt. The market consensus for Q2 earnings is CA$71.5 million, an increase YoY and QoQ. The company will report in May. Current Synergies Organigram has the #1 market share of Canadian cannabis markets. It is #1 nationally in vapes, milled flower, and concentrates. It holds the #2 position for pre-rolls and the #3 positio...

karandaev/iStock via Getty Images Real Estate Weekly Outlook U.S. equity markets slumped this past week, while Treasury yields pulled back sharply, as a confluence of cooling macro data and mixed corporate earnings results reinforced the value rotation and revived expectations of easing monetary policy. Yields tumbled after the critical Consumer Price Index report showed a continued cooldown in inflation to four-year lows, quelling concerns that tariff increases would lead to sustained upward price pressures. Labor market data landed squarely in “Goldilocks” territory – firm enough to quiet recession fears but soft enough to avoid reigniting rate anxiety – while softer retail sales underscored a gradual cooling in consumer momentum. Together, these forces accelerated the value rotation push, benefiting cyclicals and income-oriented sectors at the expense of AI-exposed tech sectors. Hoya Capital Posting declines for the fourth time in the past five weeks, the S&P 500 slipped 1.2% on the week, erasing its year-to-date gains. Smaller-cap and rate-sensitive segments outperformed for a second straight week, continuing the "value rotation" dynamic that has been the key equity market theme of early 2026. The Small-Cap 600 and Mid-Cap 400 posted more modest declines this week, maintaining their year-to-date gains at about 8%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq 100 slumped 1% - now down about 5% from its recent-highs – amid ongoing concern about the AI impact on the software industry itself. Buoyed by the rate retreat, real estate equities posted sizable outperformance this week as earnings season kicked into high gear with strong reports from data center, senior housing, and retail REITs, offsetting some weakness from office and multifamily REITs. The Equity REIT Index rallied 2.5% on the week, with 14 of 20 property sectors in positive territory. The Housing Index advanced 1% as strength from homebuilders on rate optimism and M&A news helped offset sharp pressure on brokerage firms. Ho...
