American-Born Pope Snubs Trump Invitation To Gaza Board Of Peace The Vatican will not be joining US President Donald Trump’s "Board of Peace" after Washington specifically invited Pope Leo XIV to join the massive post-war Gaza reconstruction project overseen by the United States and Israel. The Vatican’s top diplomat argued Tuesday that the United Nations should be left to handle crisis situations , and not a 'private' board with a one billion dollar buy-in. Fox News graphic Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Holy See Secretary of State, told a press briefing that the Vatican is left "perplexed" by some points of the plan - meaning that "critical issues" must be resolved for the Vatican to seriously consider it. Leo's invitation was first extended by the US administration last month. The plan is for Trump himself chair the board on an indefinite basis - and Washington's deep investment involvement has raised eyebrows across the Arab world. Many Arab officials and especially the Palestinians see it as a 'neo-colonial project' aimed at further solidifying Israel's hold over the Strip, and toward finally pushing the native inhabitants out forever . A chief concern of the Roman Catholic Church "is that at the international level it should above all be the UN that manages these crisis situations. This is one of the points on which we have insisted ." The Vatican will not "participate in the Board of Peace because of its particular nature, which is evidently not that of other States" - the statement indicated, while Italy and the European Union will participate as mere observers . Some other key European states agree with the Pope's perspective : Britain, France and Norway are not signing up. From that moment, after carrying out a detailed assessment, TSPY has become my Top 1 pick in the overall S&P 500-linked covered call space. If we take a step back and ask ourselves what the available opportunity set is for us to go long on the S&P 500 index while enjoying the fruit of harvested volatility premiums (i.e., high dividends). We will arrive at the following alternatives: 0DTE (Zero Days to Expiration) vehicle that sells options on the index level - e.g., the Roundhill S&P 500 0DTE Covered Call Strategy ETF ( XDTE ). At-the-money (or ATM) vehicle that sells options on the index level - e.g., the Global X S&P 500® Covered Call ETF ( XYLD ). Out-of-the-money (or OTM) vehicle that sells options on the index level - e.g., the NEOS S&P 500 High Income ETF ( SPYI ). OTM vehicle that sells options on the index level but adds an active stock selection component - e.g., the JPMorgan Equity Premium Income ETF ( JEPI ). The lower we move down the list, the smaller the dividend yields become, but so does the prospect for the ETF to capture price-driven upside of the S&P 500. For example, since JEPI sells calls on a meaningful OTM basis in order to minimize the opportunity cost, it offers only ~7.9% of dividend income, which in my eyes is simply too low for a covered call ETF instrument. Given that my portfolio exposure that I am willing to dedicate to covered call ETFs is not unlimited, I want to maximize the benefit that comes with such products - i.e., enhancing the overall portfolio yield.
