( SEDG ), or "SolarEdge" previously, so investors should view this as an update to my earlier articles on the company. On Wednesday, SolarEdge Technologies reported better-than-expected fourth-quarter results, with both sales and profitability coming in slightly ahead of consensus expectations: Company Press Releases / Regulatory Filings Results came in within or even above the guidance ranges provided by the company in the Q3 earnings release : Company Press Releases In contrast to competitor Enphase Energy, or "Enphase" ( ENPH ), results were not boosted by significant safe harbor contributions. While overall revenues declined slightly on a quarter-over-quarter basis, sales in the U.S. increased by almost 75% on a year-over-year basis. Growth in Europe was even stronger, with sales up by 120% over Q4/2024: Conference Call Transcripts According to management on the conference call , SolarEdge increased market share in the U.S. across all categories. In Europe, the company managed to gain share on the commercial side of the business while stabilizing its position in the residential market. SolarEdge generated $43.3 million in free cash flow and ended the year with $577.9 million in cash, cash equivalents, restricted cash, and liquid investments. Net cash amounted to $244.2 million. Similar to the third quarter , cash flow benefited from favorable working capital movements and limited capex spending. Looking ahead to Q1, the company expects free cash flow to remain positive despite anticipated investments in working capital. Even with lower-than-usual seasonality, sales are projected to decrease sequentially: Company Press Release Similar to Q4, management expects no major boost from safe harbor agreements with customers. Operating expenses are expected to increase slightly due to the strengthening of the Israeli Shekel. Despite these issues, gross margins are expected to be supported b...

( GTY ) each issued shares overnight, which hit their share prices on 2/18/26. WPC was down about 4%, while Getty was down about 7%. This article will detail why this was a special opportunity to pick up shares. REIT Equity Issuance Back In Style REITs had been out of favor for so long that most REITs have been unwilling to issue equity. If they issue at too low of a price, the dilutive cost can hurt AFFO/share as well as NAV. REIT stock prices have started to move back up in 2026, and those of WPC and GTY are particularly up because of their strong earnings reports. With their share prices closer to NAV and AFFO multiples less egregiously discounted, it is once again possible to issue equity in a way that is accretive to long-term shareholder value. Impacts Of Share Offerings On Stock Price And Value These share offerings create mini liquidity events, which can significantly alter the price of a stock on a temporary basis. Stock prices usually drop 1%-7% the day the offering hits. Change to the value of the company consists of the delta between the dilutive cost of equity and the use of proceeds. We look for stock issuances in which the value of the company is increased while the stock price is temporarily decreased. These can be great dips to buy, as the stocks will tend to swiftly recover due to the fundamental value. Let us now examine the WPC and Getty offerings. WPC Equity Issuance WPC announce d an issuance of 6 million shares . The shares were priced at $72 each for total proceeds of $432 million. The stock price fluctuated throughout 2/18/26, often down about 4%. S&P Global Market Intelligence That is a rather wild price decline because the issuance is so small relative to shares outstanding. Six million shares are less than 3% of outstanding shares, such that even if they were to flu...

The year 2025 was a big record year for orders of durable goods that manufacturers in the US received, jumping by 7.8% from 2024 to a record $3.73 trillion. It’s hard to imagine an economic slowdown until this investment boom fizzles. Big year-over-year increases were booked at manufacturers of machinery, fabricated metals, electrical equipment, computers and electronic products - partly driven by the buildout of AI infrastructure. Orders for transportation equipment jumped after the drop in the prior year. And within it, nondefense aircraft orders doubled after the plunge in the prior year. All based on the delayed data released on Wednesday by the Census Bureau. Orders for electrical equipment, appliances, and components jumped by 5.1% in 2025 and by 9.1% over the past two years, to a record $212 billion. In the five-year period of 2021-2025, orders surged by 56%, which reflects the beginning of the data center construction boom. Industries in Electrical Equipment, Appliance, and Component Manufacturing (North American Industry Classification System, NAICS, code 335) consist of: Electric Lighting Equipment Manufacturing Electrical Equipment Manufacturing Other Electrical Equipment and Component Manufacturing Household Appliance Manufacturing Orders for fabricated metal products rose by 2.5% in 2025, driven by a surge in the last seven months of the year, to a record $494 billion. Industries in the Fabricated Metal Product Manufacturing category (NAICS 332) use processes such as forging, stamping, bending, forming, machining, welding, and assembling metals into intermediate or end products, other than machinery, computers and electronics, and metal furniture. Orders for machinery jumped by 5.0% in 2025, to a record $466 billion, more than reversing two years of declines. Several of the subsectors below relate to the AI infras...

Savvy investors have been betting, correctly, for years now that electricity demand for AI applications will deliver riches to power companies . All of a sudden, that wager’s blasted past the mainstream and into the stratosphere. The biggest exchange-traded fund tracking the utilities sector has clocked a 6.8% gain so far this year , handily outstripping the broader market. Now, a group of staid socks once coveted for the reliable payouts and slow, steady growth have become a must-have for just about every investor group. So insatiable is the demand, the sector is in the midst of what analysts at SentimenTrader call an “extreme buying frenzy” that is dragging valuations away from fundamentals and risking a pullback. The problem is, much of the growth in the sector might already be priced in. NextEra Energy Inc. hit a record high on Feb. 13 after the company raised its quarterly dividend by 10%. It’s got nuclear power agreements in place with Microsoft Corp. and Meta Platforms Inc. Duke Energy Corp. and Constellation Energy Corp. have also hit all-time highs in the past year on growing data center deals with the two big technology firms. “It’s a pretty crowded trade right now,” Mark Malek , chief investment officer at Muriel Siebert & Co. said in an interview. “I don’t think this is a trade I would get into at this level, this is one of those things, if you didn’t get in, if you’re not already in it, the horse has already left the barn for you.” One options trader took their chips off the table Wednesday, pocketing a tidy $400,000 profit on a long position in the State Street Utilities Select Sector SPDR ETF . The trade, using calls, was a bet that the ETF would reach between $47 and $52 by mid-June — one that grew in value as the fund ended last week at $46.50 before slipping in the past two sessions. Even as some traders get antsy that a top might be nearing, there remain acolytes who believe power generators are a less risky way to bet on AI than trying to discern...

Sundry Photography Merck & Co. ( MRK ), known as MSD outside the United States and Canada, on Thursday reported positive second-season results from the Phase 3 SMART trial evaluating ENFLONSIA (clesrovimab) in infants and children at increased risk for severe respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) disease. New data from the SMART trial in children under 2 years of age who remained at increased risk for severe RSV disease through their second RSV season and received ENFLONSIA at the start of RSV season 2 showed that safety was generally consistent with safety observed in MK-1654-007 infants who received ENFLONSIA during RSV season 1, the company said. Additionally, the monoclonal antibody (mAb) serum concentrations achieved in children under 2 years of age at increased risk for severe RSV disease through their second RSV season (secondary endpoint) were similar to those in healthy infants in the pivotal Phase 2b/3 CLEVER trial. Results from the SMART study support extrapolation of efficacy to children under 2 years of age at increased risk for severe RSV disease through RSV season 2, Merck & Co. ( MRK ) said in a statement.
