Investors looking to insulate themselves from artificial intelligence risks may want to consider certain dividend stocks, according to investor Jenny Harrington. In fact, dividend payers have been outperforming so far this year as investors rotate from large cap names into "old economy" stocks, she said. The iShares Select Dividend ETF is up nearly 11% year to date and the Schwab US Dividend Equity ETF has gained about 15%. The S & P 500, on the other hand, is essentially flat. DVY 1Y mountain iShares Select Dividend ETF one year performance Investors are now realizing that the performance and valuation divergences between big tech and old economy stocks became "irrationally wide" and are rebalancing their portfolios, said Harrington, CEO of Gilman Hill Asset Management. On top of tech's large valuations, some sectors of the market are being hit over fears of disruption by artificial intelligence. For instance, software stocks tanked earlier this month after Anthropic's latest AI model appeared to be able to allow businesses to do legal work and build programs for which they would otherwise pay an expensive license. The iShares Expanded Tech-Software Sector ETF dropped nearly 23% so far this year. Harrington's stock picks In this environment, Harrington is looking for names that she believes won't be disrupted by or destroyed by AI. "Even if people lose jobs en masse, they're still buying toilet paper and diapers," she said. In fact, one of her top picks is Kimberly-Clark , which makes Huggies and Cottonelle. The stock, which has gained more than 7% year to date, has a 4.66% dividend yield. The consumer goods company has paid a dividend for 92 years and has raised it for 54 years, Harrington noted. The stock is trading at about 14.5 times earnings, she said. While earnings growth has been minimal, Harrington expects a pick up once the benefits of the Kenvue acquisition become clear. Just When You Thought Obama's Tower Of Doom Couldn't Get Any More Ugly... Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news, Barack Obama’s infamous Presidential Center in Chicago, already slammed as a dystopian “prison-like” monstrosity, has just received a bizarre new update that’s ignited widespread mockery online. The addition of disjointed words from one of Obama’s speeches has been dubbed “headache-inducing,” amplifying the backlash against this $830 million behemoth that’s overrun budgets, displaced locals, and turned a public park into a narcissistic shrine. As construction drags on toward a June 2026 opening, the former president’s ego-driven tweaks have only fueled the fire, with X users unleashing savage roasts and memes comparing the structure to everything from a Soviet-era bunker to a “concrete porta potty.” The latest fiasco stems from Obama’s decision to etch excerpts from his 2015 Selma speech onto the building’s facade. But instead of inspiring awe, the disjointed lettering has sparked hilarity and disgust. They somehow managed to make the Obama presidential library even uglier. My gosh. ? pic.twitter.com/lmZnyJ4FSs — johnny maga (@johnnymaga) February 17, 2026 One X user highlighted how the words appear chopped and unreadable, calling it a “headache-inducing” mess that perfectly encapsulates the project’s overall failure. I's indistinguishable from L's and T's. E's indistinguishable from F's. Multiple words get disjointed–not just on one plane but two. Truly, one of the most headache-inducing reading experiences I've ever had. pic.twitter.com/hohr6Whusy — Jacob Shell (@JacobAShell) February 17, 2026 what don’t you understand about YOU ARE AMERICA ED BY HABILAND UNENCUMBERED ADY TO SEIZE WE https://t.co/kmHawlABHO — Logan Dobson (@LoganDobson) February 16, 2026 Fixed it for Obama. pic.twitter.com/BJU5eA6vIx — Steve Guest (@SteveGuest) February 18, 2026 This is what the text should read… pic.twitter.com/YaZ2iSJQuY — The OverboostedOne (@OverboostedOne) Fe...

U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent testifies before a House Financial Services Committee hearing about the annual report of the Financial Stability Oversight Council, on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., U.S., February 4, 2026. Kylie Cooper | Reuters Dozens of House Democrats wrote to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent on Thursday calling for an investigation into possible conflicts of interest and national security concerns related to World Liberty Financial , the Trump family's cryptocurrency venture. The letter, led by Rep. Gregory Meeks, D-N.Y. and 40 other lawmakers, landed after Bessent testified at a contentious House Financial Services Committee hearing earlier this month. Meeks at the hearing called Bessent a "flunky" of President Donald Trump and raised questions about a $500 million stake that Sheikh Tahnoon bin Zayed Al Nahyan — a royal from the United Arab Emirates also known as the "spy sheikh" — bought in World Liberty Financial last year. "The Trump family's $500 million deal connected to the Emirati royal family is not only a matter of national financial instability, but it also carries serious national security implications," Meeks said in a statement accompanying the letter. "Trust that the record will reflect whether Secretary Bessent chooses to answer to the American people, or his mob boss." aimintang/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Home improvement retailer, The Home Depot, Inc. ( HD ), will be releasing its Q4 results on Tuesday, February 24. Though shares in the stock have had a good start to 2026, up over 10% YTD, the stock has been relatively muted over the past month. Seeking Alpha - Basic Trading Data Of HD Stock The flattish month is not necessarily a bad note, as the broader S&P 500 ( SPY ) is down 1% over this same period. However, nearby competitor Lowe’s ( LOW ) is outperforming, with gains of 15% and 1.3% YTD and over the month, respectively. I last provided coverage on HD back in April 2022, and at that time, I was bullish on its prospects. I highlighted factors such as the age of existing homes and the long runway for renovations as one potential catalyst. The stock has since returned nearly 40% since that bullish update. While I still believe the catalysts are intact, I am more neutral on the stock today heading into its Q4 earnings release. HD Stock Key Metrics When I last covered HD, shares were trading at around 20x forward earnings. In my coverage, I also stated that the price could approach $360/share. HD today is sitting around and above that price point and at a forward multiple of 26x earnings. That is three turns above where LOW stands, and it is also 20% above HD’s five-year averages . I would argue that HD is fairly valued at today’s trading values. Seeking Alpha - Valuation Metrics Of HD Stock Though both the broader Seeking Alpha (“SA”) analyst community and the associated quants would generally agree with my sentiment, those on Wall Street are more bullish. The stock is still rated as an overall Buy, with those bullish seeing about 5% upside potential left in the stock. Upside is upside, but there are many, myself included, that wouldn’t get out of bed for less than 10%. Seeking Alpha - Average Price Target Of HD Stock What Is The Outlook For HD Stock? I believe that the overall tone heading into the Q4 release is optimi...

John Kevin/iStock via Getty Images The Dow Jones Industrial Average has been in the news as it recently hit the 50,000 milestone. It has been outperforming and attracting new investors, but in today's article, I want to explore a lesser-known alternative—the Invesco Dow Jones Industrial Average Div ETF ( DJD ). This ETF has outperformed the SPDR Dow Jones Industrial Average ETF Trust ( DIA ) and provides an attractive twist for income investors with a higher yield and lower expense ratio. The DJD - Yield and Performance The DJD was launched in 2015 and is somewhat under the radar, with AUM of $445M. According to the fund page : The Invesco Dow Jones Industrial Average Dividend ETF is based on the Dow Jones Industrial Average Yield Weighted (Index)... The Index is designed to provide exposure to dividend-paying equity securities in the Dow Jones Industrial Average™ by their 12-month dividend yield over the prior 12 months. That dividend yield is currently 2.40% (TTM), which is not exactly impressive but has fallen due to the price rally. Just two years ago it was 3.59%. Data by YCharts And for any investor who bought before mid-2024, the yield is north of 3%. Seeking Alpha This compares to 1.39% for the DIA and 1.07% for the S&P 500 ( SPY ). It may not be enough for some income investors, but the low(ish) yield is balanced out by attractive performance and a low expense ratio of 0.07%, which is over half the DIA's 0.16%. Over the last year, its returns have beaten its main peer, the DIA, as well as the SPY and the Nasdaq 100 ( QQQ ). Seeking Alpha Importantly, for income investors, it does this with much lower volatility and lower drawdowns than the broader market ( SPY ). Data by YCharts Of course, it does not always outperform, and it would be wrong to compare long-term returns to the likes of the tech- and growth-oriented QQQ. However, the DJD does slightly edge the DIA over the last three years and five years (but not 10), and that makes it a very viable alternat...

hapabapa/iStock Editorial via Getty Images DoorDash ( DASH ) has been one of the few pandemic winners to continue growing at a robust rate even following the pandemic. The company is solidly profitable on a GAAP basis and is investing in an integrated platform. I expect the company to end up being a clear beneficiary of AI. The stock looks quite attractive given the long-term growth runway. I reiterate my buy rating on the stock. DASH Stock Price I last covered DASH in November , where I upgraded it to a "B uy," calling it the “future of local commerce.” The stock has underperformed the broader market by around 9% since. Data by YCharts As the company enters a more mature phase in its growth trajectory, I expect investors to warm up to the company’s robust GAAP margins and likely expansion as it embraces AI. DASH Stock Key Metrics DASH is widely known as a food delivery platform, though it is rapidly expanding its reach to extend to groceries and all retail. In the most recent quarter, the company generated 39% YoY marketplace GOV growth to $29.7 billion, exceeding guidance of $29.5 billion. This represented a sharp acceleration from the 25% clip posted in the third quarter, but I note it mainly reflects the acquisition of Deliveroo. The company generated $780 million in adjusted EBITDA, coming in at the high end of guidance of between $710 million and $810 million. The company is undergoing a “margin reset” year in which it is not expected to show the margin expansion that investors have grown accustomed to in recent years, due to both the integration of the Deliveroo acquisition as well as management’s intentional investment to build one unified platform. That said, the company remains robustly profitable on a GAAP basis. 2025 Q4 Shareholder Letter DASH ended the quarter with $5.5 billion of cash versus $2.7 billion of convertible notes, reflecting the acquisition of Deliveroo. Looking ahead, management guided the company to see up to $31.8 billion in GOV, represe...
