After the close of Monday's regular session, leading offshore energy specialty services provider Helix Energy Solutions Group, Inc. ("Helix Energy" or "Helix Energy Solutions") reported strong fourth-quarter results, with both revenues and earnings per share coming in well above consensus expectations : Yahoo Finance / Company Press Release Please note that GAAP results have been adjusted for an $18.1 million impairment charge related to the company's Thunder Hawk field due to " lower oil prices and higher expected operating costs, including expected workover costs ". Remember that the Thunder Hawk field has been offline since July 2024. In recent weeks, the company conducted a successful workover at a cost of $16 million, which will negatively impact profitability in Q1. According to statements made by management on the conference call , the floating production facility is " experiencing issues " with production now expected to restart at the beginning of Q2. That said, the fourth quarter was strong across the board, driven by better-than-expected utilization of key assets. In fact, Helix delivered the best fourth-quarter performance in more than a decade with strong Adjusted EBITDA and outstanding cash generation.
