Corning shares took a breather Thursday from this year's record-breaking run. While we can't fault profit-takers after a four-session winning streak of more than 23%, we still see big things for the stock. The industrial-focused tech name dropped roughly 6.5% in afternoon trading after its recent parabolic move higher. However, the stock was still up more than 70% year to date — making it one of the best performers in the S & P 500 and, by far, our top 2026 Club stock. That follows an 84% gain in 2025 and a 56% advance in 2024. That's a combined gain of 400% in less than three years. It may sound improbable, but to the Club and many Wall Street analysts, this run is just the beginning for the 175-year-old glassmaker turned AI infrastructure powerhouse. This week, Citi added an upside 30-day catalyst on Corning and raised its price target to a Street-high $170 per share from $120. On Tuesday, the Club hiked our Corning price target to $160 from $140. Last week, we made a small Corning trim out of discipline in the face of this year's big rally and locked in a 55% gain in the process. Our investment thesis, however, remains intact, hinging on the buildout of AI data centers and the role of Corning's fiber optic cabling — not to mention its dominance in durable glass for mobile devices. Corning's fiber optic cables are increasingly replacing copper in data centers because they run cooler, which means less energy is needed to support AI infrastructure. Finding ways to save and generate power for these facilities is foundational, as Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's five-layer cake of the AI stack points out. Jensen puts energy at the base level , followed by chips, infrastructure, AI models, and applications. Back in March 2025, Corning was announced as one of Nvidia's partners for its silicon photonics ecosystem, which enables AI data centers to link the chipmaker's graphics processing units (GPUs). More recently , Corning said last month that Meta Platforms will pay up to $6 ...

Aptos (CRYPTO: APT) is among the more unique cryptocurrency projects I've been keeping an eye on. Much of that has to do with the fact that this project was founded by former Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: META) engineers, using the Move programming language for its secure contracts, achieving impressive throughput and low-latency transactions, perfect for gaming and other decentralized finance applications. That said, given the market turmoil we're seeing today, it's perhaps not surprising that Aptos has declined 5.2% over the past 24 hours, as of 2:45 p.m. ET. This decline comes amid some otherwise positive developments. Let's dive into what may be leading investors to hit the ask, or if this token represents a solid investment at these lower levels. But plans have shifted, Qualcomm now tells me. It won't announce any updates to its Snapdragon G Series gaming chips there, nor offer the recently announced updates to the Snapdragon X line for journalists to try or benchmark. "Snapdragon X Series and Snapdragon G Series processors are pushing the PC, desktop, and handheld gaming dev … Read the full story at The Verge.

Automakers Push Toward "Eyes-Off" Driving Despite Mounting Doubts Global automakers are zeroing in on a controversial waypoint in the autonomy race: “eyes-off” driving, known in the industry as Level 3, according to a new report by Reuters . The idea is simple but provocative — motorists could look away to send a message or work on a laptop until the vehicle signals them to retake control. After years spent refining hands-on driver aids that manage steering and speed, companies see Level 3 as a potential bridge between today’s supervised systems and tomorrow’s fully driverless cars. It could also help justify the billions already sunk into automation. “We can start saving them time immediately, and do it in a very affordable way,” said Doug Field of Ford Motor, which aims to roll out eyes-off capability on lower-cost EVs in 2028. Yet enthusiasm is far from universal. Some executives question whether temporarily shifting responsibility between human and machine is workable — or safe. Others doubt buyers will pay enough to cover development costs that consultants at McKinsey & Company estimate at up to $1.5 billion for highway-capable Level 3 systems. Reuters reports that a decade after bold predictions that autonomous cars would be everywhere, most vehicles — including “Full Self-Driving” from Tesla — remain Level 2, requiring constant attention. Besides Ford, General Motors and Honda Motor have outlined Level 3 ambitions. But pullbacks are mounting. Mercedes-Benz, the only brand to launch Level 3 in the U.S., paused the program amid limited demand tied to speed and geographic restrictions. Stellantis has shelved its effort. Former Waymo CEO John Krafcik said attempts so far suggest “the juice isn’t worth the squeeze.” Legal exposure adds another layer of risk. Analysts say eyes-off capability increases the likelihood that manufacturers — not drivers — would bear responsibility in a crash, an issue scholars warn could stall deployment without clearer regulation. Mean...

snik2016/iStock via Getty Images I begin this article with a symbolic image of the U.S. 4¢ "American Credo" stamp . It quotes George Washington: "Observe good faith and justice toward all nations." Now onto the data material of the earnings preview and investment analysis at hand. Since my last Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd. ( CRDO ) analysis , the stock has gained over 50% in price. Indeed, the AI infrastructure investment boom has been remarkably rewarding and may very well continue to be so even while macro valuation concerns persist. In any case, I would be very cautious right now about not having a sizeable cash position and exposure to gold, because at this valuation and the complexity of the emergence of the AI economy, some severe volatility ahead would not be unexpected by me. Of course, this could be the equivalent of 1996, and the S&P 500's ( SP500 ) forward P/E could expand over the next three years to what it was at the peak of the dot-com boom (25.2x), but it's more plausible in my opinion that we will see index-level price normalization in 2027 and a meaningful drawdown in 2028 at the latest. I can't predict it with temporal precision, but data suggests 2029 at a push, 2027 in the bear case, and 2028 in the base for a negative index-level inflection. As we are now in 2026 and growth is already slowing, I am moving defensively to cash early, as it's not only slowing growth that could tumble the markets but also multiple compression from mere growth normalization. This is made evident in the second chart of this thesis, in the second section below. J.P.Morgan Q3 Earnings Preview Firstly, we certainly need to understand that Credo is directly tied to the broad AI investment supercycle. The company sells high-speed connectivity solutions, including SerDes IP, retimers, Active Electrical Cables, and chiplets. Together, these move massive amounts of data in hyperscale data centers. Given that, as evidenced below from the reputable JPMorgan, major AI hy...

Welcome back to Soundbite. This week has been a doozy. The day after a massive blizzard rolled through New York City, the show remained on at the Podcast Business Summit, which I hosted in Brooklyn. A big thank you to everyone who made it out (even from the UK, Singapore and Japan!) and to the team members from On Air and Bloomberg who made it happen. Despite the weather, we still had worthwhile conversations with some of the biggest names in the medium, including Kara Swisher, Pablo Torre and Adam Friedland. Today, we’ll run through six of the biggest takeaways. If you appreciate this kind of work, please support it and subscribe . Reach me through email . Up first, here’s what I’m reading and writing this week. A couple bits of Suno news. First, an open letter signed by artist-representation groups went out titled “Say No to Suno.” The letter argues Suno is “not a platform artists should trust.” Then, yesterday, Suno Chief Executive Officer Mikey Shulman posted that the company had reached 2 million paid subscribers and annual recurring revenue of $300 million. Put this down as a story for another week, but an entrepreneur named Adam Levy used AI to generate a podcast about Jeffrey Epstein, and the show has quickly climbed into the top five series on Apple Podcasts. The show description says he had AI analyze the Epstein Files and then used an AI voice to create the actual podcast. T he six biggest takeaways from this week’s Podcast Business Summit The debate about audio versus video is over — video won (mostly) The introduction of video into podcasts has caused hand-wringing for years, mostly along the lines of whether shows need to have video. At this point, the answer seems to be a resounding yes. During the summit, we hosted some topic-oriented rooms, including one dedicated to audio and one to video. The video room overflowed, causing some people to come to the audio room by default. Meanwhile, the audio room’s conversation mostly centered on the idea that pe...
