‘They should have done it sooner, they waited too long,’ says Trump but he doesn’t say when talks would take place US-Israel war on Iran – latest updates Sign up for the Breaking News US email Donald Trump said on Sunday that Iran’s political leadership have agreed to talks, a day after the US and Israel began to target the country’s military and political infrastructure, killing the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several top officials. “They want to talk, and I have agreed to talk, so I will be talking to them,” Trump told a reporter for the Atlantic magazine on Sunday. “They should have done it sooner. They should have given what was very practical and easy to do sooner. They waited too long.” Reuters contributed reporting Continue reading...

clearstockconcepts/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images A turf fight is unfolding in northern Kentucky as Publix expands into territory long dominated by Kroger ( KR ), The Wall Street Journal reported Sunday. The Florida grocer, which operates about 1,400 stores, has opened its first locations near Cincinnati, Kroger’s hometown. The chain plans to have roughly a dozen Kentucky stores operating by year-end. The move brings a Southern favorite into direct competition with the nation’s largest supermarket chain, which runs about 2,700 stores. Kroger ( KR ) has responded aggressively. The company cut prices at nearby stores after Publix arrived and unveiled a revamped supermarket in Edgewood, Ky., last fall. Executives said sales initially dipped at neighboring Kroger ( KR ) stores but later stabilized. At the same time, Kroger ( KR ) is looking to expand deeper into Florida, including Jacksonville, adding another layer to the rivalry. The standoff highlights the high stakes of grocery expansion, where companies spend heavily on real estate and store upgrades while operating on slim margins. Both chains are also contending with national heavyweights such as Walmart ( WMT ) and fast-growing discount players like Aldi. For shoppers, the competition has meant more promotions and buy-one-get-one-free deals. Retail consultant Craig Johnson told the Journal that the matchup reflects differing strategies: Publix leans into store experience such as cleaner layouts and easier checkout, while Kroger ( KR ) emphasizes price and promotions to drive traffic. Publix’s arrival has drawn enthusiastic crowds. Hundreds lined up on opening day at a new store near a suburban development, some sporting Publix gear and eager for its popular deli sandwiches and key lime pie. Local shoppers said they’ve already noticed lower prices and more promotions since Publix entered the market. For now, the real winners may be consumers enjoying the spoils of a supermarket showdown. Some customers have sw...

"They want to talk, and I have agreed to talk, so I will be talking to them," Trump told The Atlantic on Sunday. The president told CNBC that U.S. military operations in Iran are "ahead of schedule." Sanju Samson, who lost his place in the side on the eve of the tournament before being recalled after India’s humbling Super 8s defeat by South Africa, dramatically rediscovered his touch, batting through the innings to finish unbeaten on 97. Chasing 196, the co-hosts looked in control with the 31-year-old at the crease and fittingly it was Samson who struck the winning runs, lifting his 50th delivery over mid-on to seal victory by five wickets, with four balls remaining.
