Trump, while ordering retaliation against Tehran, said he expected the latest military flare-up to end quickly and left the door open to more talks. Ivy League college students are, by definition, intelligent. They don't need to use generative AI to cheat on exams; they could just learn the material. But they also tend to be competitive, ambitious, and overscheduled, so AI can look like an easy shortcut that makes more time in their lives for things that can't be done by a chatbot. When the pressure is on, which approach do they choose? A new scandal at Brown University reveals that huge numbers of these students are likely to cheat. Record scores A recent survey of Princeton students found that 29.9 percent admitted to cheating with AI on at least one exam or assignment. But the recent situation at Brown gives us a better sense of what this kind of cheating looks like in one particular class—and just how much it may be substituting for actual learning. And we know all this because the blind economics professor at the center of it all, Roberto Serrano, is not letting it go. Read full article Comments

monsitj/iStock via Getty Images Gold futures lost ground Wednesday as oil prices jumped more than 5% and inflation concerns intensified after President Trump said the memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the conflict with Iran was "over." Iran had targeted U.S. military sites in Bahrain and Kuwait after U.S. forces struck Iranian targets in response to attacks on tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, sparking rallies in crude oil and the dollar as traders bet the shaky ceasefire will keep energy costs and inflation elevated longer. After-hours, U.S. Central Command said it launched new strikes on Iran, seeking to protect shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, concern about broadening price increases and high inflation mounted at last month's Federal Reserve's meeting, according to minutes released from Kevin Warsh’s first FOMC meeting as the new Federal Reserve Chairman. Later in the session, crude oil gave back roughly half of its earlier gains, which combined with the lack of a clearly hawkish slant in the FOMC minutes, allowed gold to regain some of its earlier losses. Gold "continues to trade largely in line with shifting U.S. rate expectations," ING analysts said in a note, adding that continued gold purchases by China's central bank should provide underlying support for bullion. Bank of America lowered its 2026 average gold forecast by 14% to $4,360/oz, citing a more hawkish Fed, but added it still sees $5K within reach once the tightening cycle ends. BofA's downward revision comes after J.P. Morgan last week said the risks to its gold forecast skew to the downside given possible early rate hikes from the Fed, while still maintaining a bullish view into 2027. Front-month Comex gold ( XAUUSD:CUR ) for July delivery fell 1.8% to $4,070.90/oz, and front-month Comex July silver ( XAGUSD:CUR ) slumped 4.5% to $58.164/oz, its second-lowest settlement value YTD. Dear Trump: Time To Flood America's Weigh Stations With ICE And CBP Agents Submitted by American Truckers United , We, the truckers who keep America moving, have had enough. An analysis of crash data and English proficiency violations reveals that drivers from just a handful of states are largely responsible for the epidemic of illegal alien truck and bus drivers terrorizing our highways. These preventable tragedies must end now. We are formally calling on President Donald J. Trump to immediately deploy ICE and CBP officers to commercial weigh stations across the entire country . No more half-measures. No more looking the other way. American families deserve safe roads. The Deadly Data Doesn't Lie Our review of crash statistics shows that alleged illegal alien truck drivers operating under USDOT numbers domiciled out of California, Illinois, Ohio, Oklahoma, Florida, Massachusetts, and New York are responsible for over 29 fatalities nationwide. Trooper Michael Pahira's death was 100% preventable. A Pennsylvania State Trooper — a 20-year veteran — was struck and killed on I-81 while conducting a routine commercial vehicle inspection.
