This enabled the company to inch closer to profitability, reporting a loss of $0.02 per share from a loss of $0.05 a year ago and 3 cents better than expected. Shares are up in after-hours trading, although initial gains were compromised by a miss on FQ3 revenue guidance. “We are gaining market share and strengthening our role as our clients’ retailer of choice for apparel, footwear, and accessories as we remain focused on offering the most client-centric and personalized shopping experience in apparel retail,” said Stitch Fix CEO Matt Baer. While the number of active clients was down 0.8% year over year, net revenue per client increased by 7.4% to $577, driving total revenue to a better-than-expected $341.3M. Gross margin, however, narrowed 90 basis points to 43.6% largely on an 11% increase in cost of goods sold. The order also requires the company to delete copies of Amazon data obtained through the system.
