The cmdtyView national average Cash Bean price is down 60 ¾ cents at $1.90 3/4. Soymeal futures are down $8.60 to $9.20 at midday, with Soy Oil futures were down 276 to 296 points. Crude oil is down $3.19 at midday. US Treasury Secretary Bessent and Chinese counterparts met this weekend in Paris to prep for the meeting between President Trump and President Xi later this month. Following the meeting it was noted that China was open to buying more US ag goods, specifically more non-soybean row crops, putting some doubts on another 8 MMT for the current MY suggested by President Trump last month. Late on Sunday President Trump stated there could be a delay in the meeting with China, while also expecting to see China help unblock the Strait of Hormuz, with some thinking that the two are tied to one another, though Secretary Bessent has stated they are not. Don’t Miss a Day: USDA’s FGIS tallied soybean export shipments at 966,082 MT (34.5 mbu) during the week ending on March 12. That was 8.9% above the week prior and 45.4% larger than the same week last year. China was the top destination of 545,858 MT, with 224,944 MT headed to Egypt and 20380,194 MT to Mexico. Marketing year exports for 2025/26 are 28.06 MMT (1.031 bbu) since September 1, which is now 28.3% below the same period last year. NOPA data from this morning, showed a February record 208.785 mbu of soybeans crushed among members. That was up 10.57% from a year ago but down 1.52% from January. Daily crush of 7.46 mbu was a record for any month through NOPA’s history. Soybean oil stocks were 2.08 billion lbs, a 38.37% yr/yr increase, with a monthly jump of 9.49%. Weekly CFTC data via the Commitment of Traders report indicated another 23,205 contracts added to the managed money net long in soybean futures and options. That took the net position to 222,107 contracts. Specs...

Earnings Call Insights: Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) (SAIC) Q4 2026 Management View CEO James Reagan opened by acknowledging his appointment as permanent CEO, emphasizing continuity and deep industry knowledge as "essential to SAIC's long-term success." Reagan highlighted a sharpened focus on portfolio alignment, process improvement, and customer mission support: "FY '27 is a year of commitment. We are committed to our strategy to align and focus the portfolio." He noted procurement delays and customer disruptions impacted Q4 revenue but pointed to strong margins: "I'm encouraged by our margin performance despite this top line choppiness with FY '26 margin of 9.7%." Reagan introduced a new Chief Growth Officer to boost business development, stating, "This is addition by subtraction, being selective in some areas frees up resources to pursue others." Reagan detailed a more selective approach to bidding, targeting $25 billion to $28 billion in submissions for FY '27 and prioritizing opportunities with higher win and retention rates. He said, "We are now aiming for $25 billion to $28 billion of submissions where we expect to support our dual goals of growing the top line and improving margin." CFO Prabu Natarajan reported, "We reported fourth quarter revenue of $1.75 billion, representing an organic contraction of approximately 6%... Full year revenue of $7.26 billion declined approximately 3% organically." Natarajan added, "We reported adjusted EBITDA of $181 million in the quarter, resulting in a margin of 10.3%, which reflects strong program execution and recently enacted cost efficiency efforts." He reaffirmed guidance for FY '27 and highlighted, "Our adjusted diluted earnings per share guidance of $9.50 to $9.70 is unchanged from our previous FY '27 guidance last quarter." Outlook SAIC reaffirmed FY '27 guidance with revenue in the range of $7 billion to $7.2 billion, reflecting an organic contraction of 2% to 4%. Natarajan stated, "Our gu...

pabradyphoto Trump's lawyers have asked Judge James Boasberg to reconsider his decision to block subpoenas against the Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, arguing that the court applied an incorrect legal standard, Fox News reported on Monday. On Friday, Boasberg was said to have blocked subpoenas that the Justice Department served to the Fed chair over his testimony before the Senate Banking Committee last June. Jeanine Pirro, the U.S. attorney for the District of Columbia, had said she will continue a criminal probe into Powell related to renovations at the Fed's Washington headquarters. President Donald Trump had lashed out at the ruling and the judge on Truth Social, calling for him to be removed from cases involving the administration. The president also called for the Fed's building contractor to be investigated alongside Powell. In the DOJ's motion for reconsideration submitted on Monday, the lawyers reportedly noted that the court "applied an incorrect legal standard, erred with respect to certain facts, and overlooked other relevant facts", arguing that a subpoena should be allowed when there is even a "reasonable possibility". Sri Lanka is introducing a shorter four-day working week to preserve its shrinking fuel and gas reserves, as the Middle East conflict continues to severely disrupt energy supplies in the region. Countries across south Asia are facing crippling shortages of fuel and LPG gas, which are used for everything from home cooking to cremating bodies, as most supplies have been held up in the Gulf since the US and Israel began bombing Iran. The strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route for most of south Asia’s oil and gas, has effectively been shut for two weeks as it has been blockaded by Iran in retaliation for the US and Israeli strikes. All countries in the region import almost all their fuel and gas and most warned they only have enough supplies to keep the lights on for a few more weeks. Bangladesh, fearful of running of out fuel to power the garment factories that are crucial to its economy, announced early Ramadan holidays for universities to save energy and has imposed scheduled power blackouts. Photograph: Munir Uz Zaman/AFP/Getty Images Pakistan, which relies on 85% of its energy coming through the strait of Hormuz, moved schools to remote online teaching this week and raised fuel prices in an attempt to stop hoarding. Sri Lanka is among the countries cutting working hours to save fuel, which it mostly sources from the Middle East. From Wednesday, state institutions, as well as schools and universities, will operate only four days a week. Civil servants are being told to work from home where possible. “We are also asking the private sector to follow suit and declare every Wednesday a holiday from now on,” Prabath Chandrakeerthi, commissioner general of essential services, told reporters after an emergency meeting chaired by the president, Anura Kumara Dissanayake. In scenes reminiscent of Sri Lanka’s economic crisis four years ago, fuel rationing began on Sunday....

President Donald Trump has long complained about what he sees as unfair treatment from the major television networks. Now he’s employing a new enforcer in the fight: the Federal Communications Commission . The FCC has broad powers over broadcast station licenses and media mergers, and under Trump it has begun to police speech through a combination of bluster, legal leverage and updated guidance of its “equal time” rule. FCC Chairman Brendan Carr on March 14 threatened broadcasters with cancellation of their licenses if they did not “correct course” on news coverage. He posted the message on social media on top of a post by Trump complaining about coverage of the US-Israeli strikes on Iran. What are Trump’s complaints about major TV networks? Trump has repeatedly accused major broadcast networks of being biased or defamatory. “ABC & NBC FAKE NEWS, two of the worst and most biased networks in history, give me 97% BAD STORIES. IF THAT IS THE CASE, THEY ARE SIMPLY AN ARM OF THE DEMOCRAT PARTY,” he wrote in a Truth Social post in August. No prior president has so publicly and repeatedly suggested using broadcast regulation to respond to unfavorable coverage. After CBS aired a 60 Minutes report that included segments on Ukraine and Greenland that Trump criticized as unfair, he urged the FCC to “impose the maximum fines and punishment, which is substantial, for their unlawful and illegal behavior.” Trump said he was “thrilled” by Carr’s March 14 threats to cancel the licenses of what the president called “corrupt and highly unpatriotic” news organizations, accusing media outlets of spreading Iranian disinformation. What is the Federal Communications Commission? The FCC is a US agency created by Congress in 1934 to regulate interstate and international communications — first by radio and later by television, satellite, cable and broadband. Although originally designed by Congress as an independent, bipartisan commission to insulate it from politics, Trump has sought to brin...

lucky-photographer/iStock via Getty Images The Trump Administration always seemed destined to lose the tariff battle before the Supreme Court. If you follow politics, there’s a fair chance you already knew that the Trump Administration was developing contingency plans, and now we're seeing those go into action. Before the Supreme Court settled the matter with reciprocal tariffs, I wrote an article suggesting, among other things, that the Trump Administration would turn to other laws and regulations to implement tariffs. I also predicted market turbulence amid tariff battle uncertainty, and I still believe there will be plenty of bumps on the road ahead. Lo and behold. Now we know what the opening salvo looks like. The Trump Administration is launching numerous investigations into countries for alleged forced labor. These investigations are coming under Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 . Before going any further, I need to mention that I am not a lawyer. While I’ve done my homework, I could have misinterpreted or overlooked key information. Anyway, Section 301 tariffs give President Trump more room to maneuver and offer a more stable legal foundation, although the Administration will likely face courtroom challenges over 301 tariffs as well. Ultimately, I expect these tariffs to have a lot more staying power. I also believe there will be a fair bit of turbulence as the global trade war resumes and (likely) legal challenges move forward. Further, some countries may dig in and push back against the United States this time. I suspect if countries go this route, they’ll meet an especially recalcitrant Trump Administration. For now, I'd anticipate market disruptions to be temporary and short-lived. So Many Tariffs, So Little Time The Trump Administration stands a substantially better chance of getting these tariffs to stick, by my estimates. Below is an excerpt of some of the related text. As you can see from the text, it grants considerable room to maneuver. Any acti...

Tesla TSLA has obtained approval from the UK energy regulator Ofgem to supply electricity directly to households and businesses across Great Britain, expanding its presence in the country’s energy sector. The license allows the company to provide electricity to domestic and commercial customers in England, Scotland and Wales. The move reflects Tesla’s plans to expand its energy operations beyond electric vehicles and follows a model similar to its retail electricity business in Texas, which provides low-cost, sustainable electricity for homes, electric vehicles and communities. The electricity supply license was granted to Tesla Energy Ventures and became effective on March 11. The approval allows the company to sell electricity directly to both residential and non-residential customers throughout Great Britain. Tesla’s entry into the UK electricity supply market follows earlier developments that expanded its energy activities in the country. The company received an electricity generation license from Ofgem in 2020. It has also deployed large-scale battery storage projects using Megapack systems and partnered with Octopus Energy to offer a program connecting Powerwall owners to a virtual power plant network (VPP) that provides special electricity rates. Tesla is expected to apply elements of its Texas electricity model in Britain. In Texas, the company operates a VPP that allows Tesla owners to charge vehicles at lower rates and receive credits for exporting electricity stored in Powerwall batteries back to the grid. In the UK, the electricity supply license allows Tesla to sell electricity, but it does not permit the company to provide dual-fuel contracts, meaning customers must maintain separate arrangements for gas supply. The company’s expansion into electricity supply comes as its automotive business has faced pressure in the UK and parts of Europe. Tesla’s vehicle sales in the UK fell 37% year over year in February to 2,422 units. The decline comes amid intens...

MicroStockHub The probability of a U.S. recession starting within the next 12 months had already reached an “uncomfortably high” 49% before the recent conflict with Iran pushed oil prices ( CO1:COM ) ( CL1:COM ) ( USO ) sharply higher and stoked inflation fears, according to Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody’s Analytics. “Recession is once again a serious threat,” Zandi wrote in a post on X, noting that the firm’s machine learning-based leading economic indicator model showed elevated recession risks even before disconcerting events in the Middle East began unfolding. “Behind the recent jump are primarily the weak labor market numbers, but almost all the economic data have turned soft since the end of last year,” Zandi said. The Iranian conflict and resulting surge in oil prices could soon push the probability past the critical 50% threshold, Zandi warned. Oil prices carry significant weight in the model because every recession since World War II, with the exception of the pandemic downturn, has been preceded by a spike in energy costs. While Zandi acknowledged that higher oil prices don’t cause the same economic damage as in years past because the U.S. now produces as much oil as it consumes, he noted that “consumers still get hit hard and fast, and they were already increasingly nervous spenders.” Many economists remain reluctant to use the word “recession” after incorrectly predicting a downturn following the Federal Reserve’s monetary tightening a couple of years ago, Zandi said. “However, if oil prices remain elevated for much longer (weeks and not months), a recession will be difficult to avoid,” he warned. Meanwhile, recession odds on prediction marketplace Kalshi stood at around 32% at press time, up from ~22% at the onset of the war on Feb. 28, but down from roughly 40% in the summer. Since the dawn of GeForce, NVIDIA has strived to deliver the graphics horsepower required for game developers to create incredible, realistic worlds — where lighting, reflections and shadows obey the laws of nature. From programmable shaders with GeForce 3 in 2001, to CUDA with GeForce 8800 GTX in 2006, to real-time ray tracing with GeForce RTX 2080 Ti in 2018, to path tracing and neural shaders with GeForce RTX 5090 in 2025, NVIDIA has delivered major architectural innovations and a massive 375,000x increase in compute to meet this challenge. However, the rendering horsepower available to a 16-millisecond game frame remains a tiny fraction of that available to a photoreal Hollywood VFX frame, which can take minutes to hours to render. Real-time rendering cannot bridge the gap to photorealism through brute force alone. NVIDIA DLSS was released in 2018 as an AI technology to boost performance, first by upscaling resolution, and then by generating entirely new frames. It has been integrated in over 750 games, becoming a gold standard for the industry. Launched at CES this year, DLSS 4.5 uses AI to draw 23 out of every 24 pixels seen on the screen. Today, DLSS is evolving beyond performance to transform visual fidelity in games. Video AI models have rapidly learned to generate photoreal pixels, but they run offline, are difficult to precisely control and often lack predictability, with every new prompt generating bespoke content. For games, pixels must be deterministic, delivered in real time and tightly grounded in the game developer’s 3D world and artistic intent. DLSS 5 takes a game’s color and motion vectors for each frame as input, and uses an AI model to infuse the scene with photoreal lighting and materials that are anchored to source 3D content and consistent from frame to frame. DLSS 5 runs in real time at up to 4K resolution for smooth, interactive gameplay.
