Hong Kong travel agencies have suspended all tours to the Middle East this month, including those requiring flight transfers through the region, citing safety concerns amid the ongoing war. The announcement was issued on Monday evening, after renewed Iranian drone strikes targeted Dubai International Airport and other infrastructure in the United Arab Emirates, in retaliation for US-Israeli attacks which began in late February. Wing On Travel said it had cancelled all tour groups scheduled to depart for the Middle East on flights operated by Emirates and Qatar Airways up to March 31. Advertisement It also suspended tours requiring flight transfers in the region for the same period, citing the “uncertain situation in the Middle East” and “the safety and reassurance of customers”. “We will contact and notify the affected customers gradually. For tours scheduled to depart on and after April 1, we appreciate your patience while we finalise the arrangements,” the agency said in a social media post. Asian equities are up after Nvidia issued an upbeat outlook for artificial intelligence and US shares rallied as ships continued to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. The positive cues could help Indian equities build on Monday’s relief rally, when the Nifty 50 snapped a three-day losing streak. Expectations that major economies may release additional petroleum reserves to offset supply disruptions also supported risk appetite. Back home, the broader trend remains fragile, with traders continuing to focus on developments around the waterway that is crucial for the country’s fuel supply. Markets Buzz: Pension Buying Nears Limit Top pension funds went on an equity-buying spree over the last 11 months as a rule change in April allowed them to take on greater exposure to stocks. Now they may be running out of headroom to add. The three biggest players bought nearly 1.2 trillion rupees of shares during this fiscal year ending in March, taking combined holdings to about 22% of assets, data compiled by Bloomberg show. That’s close to their 23% target allocation, suggesting stock purchases may slow just when the market most needs their support. (RTTNews) - NVIDIA announced at GTC that it is working with leading industrial software companies — including Cadence, Dassault Systèmes, PTC, Siemens, and Synopsys — to integrate NVIDIA CUDA-X, NVIDIA Omniverse, and GPU-accelerated tools into industrial workflows. These solutions are designed to accelerate design, engineering, and manufacturing across industries. Global manufacturers such as FANUC, HD Hyundai, Honda, JLR, KION, Mercedes-Benz, MediaTek, PepsiCo, Samsung, SK hynix, and TSMC are already adopting these NVIDIA-powered technologies to optimize processes and drive innovation. The software leaders are also introducing NVIDIA-powered AI agents to help customers prepare for the next phase of the AI era. These solutions run on NVIDIA AI infrastructure across major cloud providers — Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). Additionally, OEMs like Dell Technologies, HPE, and Supermicro are delivering NVIDIA-accelerated systems for on-premises and hybrid deployments, enabling faster design, simulation, and production-scale engineering. Advertisement The off-duty constable, Tsui Po-ko, 35, was also killed in the shootout in Tsim Sha Tsui in the early hours of yesterday. Police sources said evidence at the scene suggested that Tsui fired the first shots using the service revolver taken from constable Leung Shing-yan, who was murdered in 2001 after he answered a bogus noise complaint in Tsuen Wan. Advertisement The gun was found in the blood-spattered underpass where Tsui died along with Constable Tsang Kwok-hang, 33. Tsang’s partner, Sin Ka-keung, 28, remained in a serious condition in the intensive-care unit of Queen Elizabeth Hospital last night.

Super High IOPS SSD, KIOXIA GP Series KIOXIA Super High IOPS SSD Delivers High Performance, Low Latency Memory Expansion for NVIDIA Storage-Next™ Architecture TOKYO, March 17, 2026--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Kioxia Corporation today announced the development of its Super High IOPS SSD, a new type of SSD enabling the GPU to directly access high-speed flash memory as an expansion to High Bandwidth Memory (HBM) in AI systems. The new Super High IOPS SSD, the KIOXIA GP Series, is purpose-built to meet the growing performance demands of AI and high-performance computing, providing larger GPU-accessible memory capacity for faster data access to AI workloads. Evaluation samples of KIOXIA GP Series will be available to select customers by the end of 2026. The NVIDIA Storage-Next initiative addresses the anticipated shift from compute-intensive to data-intensive workloads and the expanded need for GPU-accessible memory space, currently limited by HBM size. Expanding the GPU’s usable memory space allows access to larger data sets and improves GPU utilization by moving more data closer to compute resources. The NVIDIA Storage-Next initiative calls on SSD vendors to design drives optimized for GPU-initiated AI workloads. The initiative effectively expands HBM capacity by enabling GPUs to access flash-based memory. Kioxia is supporting NVIDIA’s initiative with the KIOXIA GP Series SSDs, which utilize low-latency, high-performance KIOXIA XL-FLASH™ Storage Class Memory, and is uniquely positioned for this architecture, delivering higher IOPS, finer-grained data access (512 bytes), and lower power consumption per IO, compared with Kioxia conventional TLC SSDs. "Kioxia fully supports the NVIDIA Storage-Next initiative and will deliver purpose-built SSDs to effectively address the need for GPU-accessible memory," said Makoto Hamada, Senior Director of the SSD Division, Kioxia Corporation. "This collaboration is instrumental in shaping the future of AI storage architecture." Kioxia reaffirms i...
