Key Points Palantir is delivering blistering top-line expansion in its commercial segment, but the stock's premium price tag requires flawless execution. Alphabet's cloud division is accelerating rapidly and is supported by a staggering multi-year revenue backlog. While both businesses are thriving, one of the two stocks easily beats the other when comparing them as potential investments. 10 stocks we like better than Alphabet › Both Palantir Technologies (NASDAQ: PLTR) and Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG)(NASDAQ: GOOGL) are great technology companies with impressive business momentum. But they have some key differences, especially when it comes to growth rates and valuation. On one side, you have Palantir -- an artificial intelligence (AI) data and analytics software provider that is putting up staggering revenue growth rates, but its stock is trading at a valuation that is simply difficult for many investors to wrap their heads around. Then you have Alphabet (NASDAQ: GOOG) (NASDAQ: GOOGL) -- a foundational tech giant growing at a more measured (but still impressive) pace, backed by a highly diversified business and a deeply entrenched operating history. And Alphabet stock's valuation? Far more conservative. Will AI create the world's first trillionaire? Our team just released a report on the one little-known company, called an "Indispensable Monopoly" providing the critical technology Nvidia and Intel both need. The largest oil market shock on record triggered by the war in the Middle East is set to have a greater impact on products such as jet fuel and diesel than on crude, according to Goldman Sachs Group Inc. “Prices have rallied much more for many refined products than for crude,” analysts Yulia Zhestkova Grigsby and Daan Struyven said in a note. The severe disruptions seen in supplies of so-called medium-heavy crude pose the risk of lower production of diesel, jet fuel and fuel oil, they said. Global energy markets have been pitched into turmoil by the US-Israeli war against Iran, which erupted late last month. The conflict has triggered the near-complete halt of oil and product exports through the Strait of Hormuz , and seen attacks on energy infrastructure across the region. That’s forced crude producers to slash oil production and halt some refinery operations. While crude prices have surged by more than 40% since the first attacks — with Brent topping $100 a barrel — some products have rallied far more. In parts of Asia, fuel costs have as much as doubled in recent days, with South Korea following China and Thailand in capping exports to protect local markets. “No products or regions are fully immune,” the Goldman analysts said. The war was hurting the ability of Persian Gulf producers to export refined products, spurring refinery outages, and slashing flows of the types of crude that are best suited to making fuels such diesel, they said. “Nearly 60% of typical crude exports from the Persian Gulf are medium and heavy crude (typically used to produce jet fuel, diesel, and fuel oil), with much more limited alternative producers outside the Middle East,” they said. 03.27 GMT Trump seeks to delay China trip because of Iran war Donald Trump has said his trip to China this month to meet with the country’s leader, Xi Jinping, could be delayed by “a month or so”. But a key Trump administration official insisted the move was not to press Beijing to help unblock the strait of Hormuz. Trump said: double quotation mark We’re speaking to China. I would love to, but because of the war, I want to be here. We have requested that we delay it a month or so, and I’m looking forward to meeting with him. We’ve got a war going on. I think it’s important that I be here. So it could be that we delay it a little bit, not much. Trump’s treasury secretary, Scott Bessent, earlier cast doubt on the trip but insisted this was not to pressure Beijing to help unblock the strait of Hormuz, telling CNBC: double quotation mark We will see whether the visit takes place as scheduled. But what I do want to parse, and there’s a false narrative out there that if the meetings are delayed, it wouldn’t be delayed because the president’s demanded that China police the straits of Hormuz.

sinceLF/iStock via Getty Images Note: I have covered Microvast Holdings, Inc., or "Microvast" ( MVST ) ( MVSTW ), previously, so investors should view this as an update to my earlier articles on the company. Six months ago, I downgraded shares of lithium-ion battery manufacturer Microvast from " Hold " to " Sell " due to declining backlog levels and elevated valuation. This turned out to be a good call, as the stock has lost approximately 40% of its value in recent months: Barchart After the close of Monday's regular session, the company reported disappointing Q4/2025 results, with sales coming in well below expectations and profitability impacted by sizeable impairment charges: Company Press Releases / Regulatory Filings In the press release, management pointed to regulatory changes in Korea and persistent customer platform ramp-up delays as key reasons behind the substantial revenue miss. Adding insult to injury, Microvast was required to recognize a $32.5 million impairment charge related to specialized energy storage system ("ESS") components, as also outlined in more detail in the company's annual report on Form 10-K: In addition, during the year ended December 31, 2025, the Company recognized a write-down of $32,507 on ESS inventory that was specifically manufactured and distinct from the standard battery inventory. This ESS inventory was specifically manufactured for a customer and did not generate any associated revenue during 2025. But the bad news does not stop here, as backlog declined to a new multi-year low of $196.1 million. Given this issue, management's stated expectation for continued revenue growth in 2026 appears elusive. Without Microvast securing significant book-and-ship orders, I would expect 2026 revenues to decline by at least 30%. However, not everything was bad. The company generated $15.8 million in free cash flow and ended the year with $105.0 million in cash and cash equivalents, $64.3 million in restricted cash as well as $252.8 millio...

Jerusalem Braces For Unrest After Wartime Closure Of Al-Aqsa Mosque Through Ramadan Via Middle East Eye Israel is set to keep Al-Aqsa Mosque closed through the upcoming Muslim holiday of Eid al-Fitr and beyond, Middle East Eye has learnt. Sources familiar with the occupied East Jerusalem mosque’s affairs said Israeli authorities informed the Islamic Waqf, the body responsible for administering the site, of the decision in recent days. Al-Aqsa Mosque, deemed one of the holiest sites in Islam, was closed by Israeli authorities earlier this month, citing the "security situation" amid the US-Israeli war on Iran. The unprecedented closure, particularly during the month of Ramadan , has been condemned by Palestinians as the latest attempt by Israel to exploit security tensions to impose further restrictions and consolidate control over Al-Aqsa . via Reuters This has been the first Ramadan since Israel seized East Jerusalem in 1967 that Palestinians have been unable to perform Friday prayers at the mosque . Last week, eight Muslim-majority countries condemned the "unjustified" closure, saying Israel has "no sovereignty" over the revered site and must lift the restrictions immediately. However, the closure has continued unchecked. Friday prayers and Ramadan night prayers remain banned, and Palestinians have been barred from reaching the site , with a heavy presence of Israeli forces in the Old City. Since the closure, no more than 25 Waqf staff members have been allowed inside the vast mosque complex per shift. A source told MEE that Israeli authorities even rejected a request for an additional staff member from the manuscripts department to enter the site. Police reportedly told the Waqf that if any additional employee were allowed in , Israeli settlers would be permitted to resume their daily incursions into the mosque . The source added that Waqf officials suspect Israeli forces have also installed cameras inside prayer halls within Al-Aqsa Mosque, including inside the D...

By Kanishka Singh WASHINGTON, March 16 (Reuters) - The U.S. government on Monday said electric vehicle maker Tesla and South Korea's LG Energy Solution had signed a supply agreement to build a $4.3 billion lithium iron phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cell manufacturing facility in Lansing, Michigan, with an expected production launch in 2027. "American-made cells will power Tesla's Megapack 3 energy storage systems produced in Houston, creating a robust domestic battery supply chain," the U.S. Department of the Interior said in a statement on Monday. The agreement was part of a broader statement on deals highlighted by President Donald Trump's administration from the Indo-Pacific Energy Security Summit. A source told Reuters in July that LG Energy Solution had signed a $4.3 billion deal to supply Tesla with energy storage system batteries as the U.S. company looked to reduce its reliance on Chinese imports due to tariffs. At the time, the South Korean company said it had signed a $4.3 billion contract to supply LFP batteries over three years globally, without identifying the customer or saying if they would be used in vehicles or energy-storage systems. LG Energy Solution is one of the few producers of LFP batteries in the U.S. The LFP battery chemistry has long been dominated by Chinese rivals that have little presence in the U.S. market.
