If you start off with larger guaranteed benefits, it'll put that much less pressure on your portfolio. And also, each COLA that comes through should be worth more if you're starting off with a larger baseline. 2. Don't get too conservative with your investments It's natural to want to unload some risk in your portfolio once you retire. But if you invest too conservatively, your portfolio may not manage to keep up with inflation. While it's generally not the best idea to have 90% of your assets or more in stocks as a retiree, it may be a good idea to have, say, 60% of your portfolio in the stock market, or 50%. The increasing demand and tight supply of memory for artificial intelligence infrastructure buildouts will prompt prices of some memory types to surge by more than 100%, according to Wedbush. "Not surprisingly, pricing for memory continues to lift aggressively, with DRAM and NAND likely to see 1H pricing increases well into the triple digits from CQ4'25 levels, with gains for the former likely approaching 130% - 150% and the latter nearly as robust," said Wedbush analysts in a Monday investor report. This should bode well for memory makers such as Micron Technology ( MU ), Seagate Technology ( STX ), and Western Digital ( WDC ). "No one should be surprised by an improvement in memory," Wedbush said. Trican Well Service ( TCW:CA ) ( TOLWF ) enjoys an excellent brand reputation and has always traded at a somewhat premium valuation. However, whereas the share price of other service providers has been very strong in the past few months, Trican’s share performance is lagging a bit, so I wanted to see if this perhaps represents an opportunity. Data by YCharts The FY 2025 results were good In 2025, Trican Well Service reported a total revenue of approximately C$1.1B , an increase of approximately 12% compared to the preceding year. As the income statement below shows, Trican has done a good job to keep its margins relatively stable, resulting in a 14% increase in the gross profit. Trican Investor Relations Unfortunately the SG&A expenses increased by in excess of a third, resulting in a total cost base of almost $62M and this weighed on the operating income (and resulted in a compressed operating margin). The situation clearly wasn’t dramatic, as the pre-tax income of almost c$148M and the net profit of just over C$112M are still very respectable. Additionally, as Trican continued to buy back its own shares throughout the year, the 3% net share count reduction also helped to support the per-share performance. In 2025, the EPS came in at C$0.58, an increase from the C$0.55 EPS reported one year before. In my previous coverage on Trican I also focused on the company’s cash flow performance, as the incoming free cash flow was used to fund the dividend (currently C$0.055 per share per quarter after a recent 10% hike) while the share repurchase program also adds value. In recent weeks, almost every Chinese tech giant has announced new offerings based on OpenClaw, the open-source AI agent tool developed by Austrian programmer Peter Steinberger that autonomously performs tasks on behalf of users such as organising files and sending emails.
