jurgenfr Regeneron Pharmaceuticals ( REGN ) lost ~2% in the premarket on Wednesday despite reporting better-than-expected Q1 2026 financials and concurrently announcing a new share buyback program worth up to $3B. The company recorded $3.6B in revenue for the quarter, with ~19% YoY growth exceeding the consensus by $130M as its collaboration revenue climbed ~24% YoY to $1.9B, thanks to its partnership with Sanofi ( SNY ). The New York-based drugmaker recorded $1.6B as Sanofi ( SNY ) collaboration revenue, indicating ~36% YoY growth, as global net sales for its asthma therapy Dupixent, recorded by the French drugmaker, spiked ~33% YoY to $4.9B. Regeneron’s ( REGN ) eye care therapy, Eylea, marketed with Bayer ( BAYRY ), generated $1.7B in revenue globally with a 12% YoY drop as its standard version brought in $869.3M with a ~40% YoY slump amid competitive pressures. However, its high-dose version, Eylea HD, added $800.9M with ~77% YoY growth as higher uptake boosted sales volumes, offsetting pricing headwinds. The company recorded a 76% gross margin on net product sales, down from 81% in the prior year period, while its GAAP net income per diluted share fell ~7% YoY to $6.75. Regeneron ( REGN ) kept its 2026 outlook largely unchanged but lowered the guidance for GAAP gross margin to 77%–78% from 79%–80% previously. Having repurchased $803M in shares in Q1, the company disclosed that its board of directors authorized a new share repurchase program this month to buy back as much as $3.0B worth of additional stock from time to time through multiple methods. The board has not set a time limit for the program, but it can be cancelled at any time. More on Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Regeneron: Catching Another Wind Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. hapabapa William Blair downgraded the rating of cybersecurity stocks Qualys ( QLYS ), Rapid7 ( RPD ), and Tenable ( TENB ) to Market Perform from Outperform, citing AI disruption. The firm's Top Pick for the quarter is CrowdStrike ( CRWD ), which has an Outperform rating. Analysts led by Jonathan Ho said that their discussions with private companies, resellers, industry participants, and thought leaders indicated that the cybersecurity environment was largely in line with their expectations with some pulled forward demand in the firewall space. "In the current environment, we believe software names need to demonstrate growth acceleration in order to escape the penalty box associated with AI disrupting SaaS. As a result, we are resetting our ratings to reflect the sobering view that the current mindset is unlikely to change over the medium term with continued volatility expected in the sector," said the analysts. The analysts added that they heard favorable commentary for CrowdStrike, Okta ( OKTA ), Cloudflare ( NET ), Akamai ( AKAM ), and Fastly ( FSLY ) regarding the need for security. Qualys ( QLYS ) "We continue to see consistent performance from Qualys with the company leading with its VMDR [Vulnerability Management, Detection and Response], mROC [Managed Risk Operation Center] and now AI solutions. We have not really seen any disruption from CrowdStrike, Palo Alto, or other new entrants who are looking to commoditize the space. Instead, we broadly continue to see pricing pressure in core VM [Vulnerability Management] markets with threat exposure management, asset visibility, and patching being the stronger growth opportunities. In our view, Qualys is still considered the premium vendor in the space, and the company is targeting faster growth opportunities in areas such as CTEM and cloud security," said Ho and his team. The analysts noted that Qualys has started to push its own TruRisk AI solutions to address emerging threats and visibility leveraging AI-powered...

Marina113/iStock Editorial via Getty Images ZIM acquisition: FQ4 developments My last analysis on ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. ( ZIM ) was published on Feb. 22. The article focused on the acquisition offer from Hapag-Lloyd and rated the stock as a buy. Since then, the company has released its earnings report (ER) for FQ4 2025. The updates provided in the ER have led me to downgrade the stock to hold, primarily driven by considerations of its dividends. In a nutshell, the financials and earnings outlook (or the lack thereof) provided in the ER suggest to me that ZIM is shifting from the high-yield opportunity it used to be to a cautionary stock sensitive to cyclical volatility and geopolitical uncertainties. Let me start with a brief recap of the Q4 ER. As shown in the snapshot below, the company experienced both deteriorating unit economics and total demand in the past quarter. Total revenues for the quarter fell to $1.48 billion, missing consensus estimates and also representing a 32% year-over-year decrease compared to $2.17 billion in Q4 2024. The top-line decline was due to a combination of A) a substantial (29%) retreat in the average freight rate per TEU, which dropped to $1,333 from $1,886 a year prior, and B) total carried volume, which dipped by 9% to 898 thousand TEUs. The company also suspended the 2026 guidance amid the Hapag-Lloyd buyout. Next, we will detail the implications of these developments on its dividends. Seeking Alpha ZIM stock: earnings and dividend outlook In recent years, ZIM's dividends have followed an average payout ratio of ~30%. But recent developments have made me wonder if this payout ratio can continue. For example, in FQ4 2025, the company reported a GAAP EPS of $0.32 and a negative EPS of -$0.42 on a normalized basis. Yet, the board announced a dividend payout of $0.88 per share, a large deviation from the ~30% payout ratio. The payout is certainly substantial for a stock that trades around $26 per share, but I see good ...

Blackstone Inc. is folding its growth business into a new West Coast-based division that will focus solely on the alternative investment giant’s artificial intelligence portfolio, which includes OpenAI and Anthropic PBC . The new group, Blackstone N1, will be led by veteran executive Jas Khaira , who will relocate to San Francisco from New York. Khaira will continue to lead the Americas for the firm’s Tactical Opportunities business and serve on its investment committee. He’ll take over as head of Blackstone Growth, replacing Jon Korngold , who’s leaving the company. Read More: Schwarzman Stages Intervention as BXG Falls Short of Hype Blackstone is creating the unit to back AI and high-growth tech bets and serve as a centralized resource on AI investing for other businesses at the firm, according to an internal note viewed by Bloomberg News. BXN1 will oversee Blackstone’s AI and technology investments for BXPE, its private equity fund for the wealthy, as well as its growth and Tactical Opportunities businesses. “AI is reshaping every business at the firm, and we need a dedicated, focused team positioned at the center of this critical area to further bolster our current presence on the West Coast, where the most innovative AI and technology companies are being built,” Chief Executive Officer Steve Schwarzman and President Jon Gray wrote in the memo. Blackstone is already the largest private asset investor in AI across its business lines. In addition to its holdings in AI producers, the firm owns the largest operator of data centers in the US and some of the utilities that power them. The integration of the firm’s growth business into a new division marks the second such move since 2023, when Blackstone consolidated its credit and insurance units into a single business to bolster its lending prowess. It also underscores Blackstone’s AI ambitions. The build-out of artificial-intelligence infrastructure is the single-biggest driver for the $1.3 trillion manager, and eig...
