gdinMika/E+ via Getty Images Array Digital Infrastructure, Inc. ( AD ) is a company that operates under three pillars: a US communications tower portfolio, retained spectrum that is still being monetized, and investment interests that generate cash. AD's towers are mostly located in rural and underserved areas, and have been improving operationally, with 4,572 colocations, with leases to T-Mobile ( TMUS ), which now account for 46% of tower rental revenue. They completed the $1.0 billion spectrum sale to AT&T ( T ), plus another $178 million of subsequent T-Mobile transactions expected in 2026. Additionally, AD received $216 million of distributions from unconsolidated entities in 2025. So, overall, AD's prospects are promising, but at the current valuation, I feel my initial bull case has largely played out by now. Standalone Telecom Towers Array Digital Infrastructure, Inc. is a Telephone and Data Systems, Inc. ( TDS ) subsidiary (TDS owns 82% of AD). AD focuses on tower infrastructure, leasing it to tenants and providing related-services. The company was known as UScellular (USM) and changed its name following the sale of the wireless operations to T-Mobile ( TMUS ) in August 2025. I've previously covered USM and TDS while they were going through their transformative M&A transactions. Today, AD is the entity left standing after USM's deal with TMUS, which is why I thought it was worthwhile reviewing its prospects and updating my thesis. Source: Fourth Quarter 2025 Results. February 2026. As a quick overview, AD is technically now a tower company with monetizable frequency spectrum and investment stakes that also generate cash. The company claims to be one of the top 5 tower companies in the US, owning 4,450 towers. AD helps communication providers to deploy 5G wireless and broadband services by leasing its infrastructure. The company also offers support with the logistics of communication networks deployment. Interestingly, several of AD's towers are located in r...

Hispanolistic/E+ via Getty Images This year marks the 18th year that I have been obsessed with the stock market and the economy more broadly. It also marks the 13th year that I have been doing this in a professional capacity. In all that time, I have never predicted that a recession was all but guaranteed. That was until August of last year. I made the claim that, based on current economic conditions, we would see a deterioration in the state of the economy. The end result would be a recession sometime before 2026 was over, absent some major shift in policy. The COVID-19 pandemic created significant disruptions. Prices skyrocketed because of those disruptions, as well as because of government stimulus that caused asset price inflation. The Federal Reserve hiked interest rates in order to combat this. And just as the picture was pointing toward a soft landing, tariffs came into the picture, now followed by high oil prices from the war in Iran , which have only made matters worse. It seems like every week, the data is further supporting my claim from last August. But each time I touch on this topic, my goal is not to rehash old data points. Instead, it is to look at new data, as well as some old data but from a different perspective, in order to get an appropriate picture of what is going on. I would love nothing more than for the US to avoid a recession. But that is looking increasingly unlikely . Headline employment data remains stable, but leading indicators across hiring, wages, and worker behavior suggest that the labor market is weakening beneath the surface. Workers are struggling Federal Reserve At first glance, it might not seem as though the labor market is going through that much pain. As the chart above illustrates, we have seen unemployment rise over the last couple of years now. However, that has been in large part engineered by the Federal Reserve and its high interest rate policy. The entire objective of higher interest rates is to cause some weakness ...

piyaset/iStock via Getty Images Crispr Therapeutics AG ( CRSP ), headquartered in Zug, Switzerland, is a biopharmaceutical company with a mission to "create transformative gene-based medicines for serious human diseases." With Vertex Pharmaceuticals ( VRTX ), they have the first and only approved gene-editing treatment on the market. It uses CRISPR/Cas-9 technology – involving precise alterations in the sequencing of a person’s genomic DNA – for the treatment of sickle cell disease (SCD) and transfusion-dependent beta thalassemia (TDT). Named Casgevy , the drug received approval by the FDA in Dec 2023 and by the EMA in Feb 2024. They also have a healthy pipeline of other drug pathways across four main areas: hemoglobinopathies, in vivo, CAR-T, and regenerative medicine. I have covered CRSP on 3 previous occasions with ratings ranging from Buy to Strong Buy. My deep-dive on the company from October 2024 – found here – offered a comprehensive evaluation of the company and its potential at the time. For the last four years, the stock has traded mostly sideways but with some peaks around $80-90 and troughs in the mid/high $30s. The stock is currently trading at the low end of its 4-year trading range despite much of the investment risk being mitigated, post-Casgevy approval. CRSP is now 78% below its all-time high in 2021, when it was arguably overpriced, but 40% below its 12-month high reached 6 months ago. The overall market has dipped since then, of course, but CRSP, as a volatile stock, has fallen with it and in more pronounced fashion. Despite being almost 2 and a half years past approval of Casgevy, its long treatment cycle has delayed any revenue generation, but this is set to change in the next few months as revenue ramps. I believe they are soon to reach an inflection point as they realize their revenue-generating potential with Casgevy and sustain their strong progress in their pipeline. I expect a breakout soon.
