Sasithorn Phuapankasemsuk/iStock via Getty Images Stalled peace talks between the U.S. and Iran are keeping pressure on the Strait of Hormuz, but the bigger story may be what markets are missing. Humza Hussain, Vice President & Director, Commodities at TD Asset Management, explains why he believes global commodities are grossly mispriced, with tightening supply risks pointing to higher prices and potential inflation even if tensions ease. Transcript Kim Parlee: Peace talks between the US and Iran have shown little signs of progress. And that means the uncertainty hanging over the Strait of Hormuz is likely to continue. My next guest says markets are underestimating just how fragile the global commodity picture really is right now. In fact, he describes it as grossly mispriced. From oil and natural gas to industrial metals and even agriculture, supply risks are building beneath the surface, raising questions about a new wave of inflation. We are joined now by Humza Hussain of TD Asset Management. And it's great to have you here in the studio. Humza Hussain: Happy to be here, Kim. Kim Parlee: As I mentioned before, I can see you nodding while I'm saying these things-- just, I guess, reinforcing how you feel about the risks. Why is it happening like this? Why do you think the market is grossly mispricing? In your words, what's happening in the commodity side? Humza Hussain: I think there's a bunch of factors coming together, working together, conspiring together to keep kind of crude prices lower than they would, lower than you would expect them to be when you've had such a disruption. So I think the first thing is that I think we kind of got lucky in the fact that we had a lot of sanctioned oil floating around, which conveniently became unsanctioned. And so you had 150 million barrels that helped to cover some of the gaps. And all that has disappeared. I think the other thing that is keeping prices lower is the volatility. And I think if you think about just day to da...

Read: OPEC+ Delegates Expect Another Symbolic Supply Hike Without UAE The move, which is largely symbolic due to traffic through the Strait of Hormuz being at a near-standstill, comes ahead of a policy meeting on Sunday. It also comes days after the announcement that the United Arab Emirates is leaving OPEC, dealing a blow to the group and its leader Saudi Arabia as the oil industry grapples with the supply disruption caused by the Iran war. In a surprise announcement earlier this week, the UAE said it planned to leave the group on May 1. Read More: UAE Quits OPEC as War Upends Oil Markets and Gulf Tensions Rise

Tokyo Dome hosts biggest fight in Japanese history Naoya Inoue is the greatest show in sports today Inoue and Nakatani slated for 1pm BST/8am EDT Reach out to Bryan on Bluesky or by email Takuma Inoue, Naoya’s younger brother, has just defended his WBC bantamweight title with a 12-round unanimous-decision win over Kazuto Ioka on the undercard. Ioka recovered nicely from a pair of early knockdowns in the second and third rounds, but the outcome was never in doubt – particularly with the open scoring in use. The official scores were 118-108, 119-107 and 120-106. The 37-year-old Ioka fell short in his bid to win a world title in a fifth different weight class, joining Thomas Hearns, Sugar Ray Leonard, Oscar De La Hoya, Floyd Mayweather Jr, Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford, the recently retired American star who is taking in tonight’s fights from ringside. It currently accounts for a staggering 60% of the total market cap of the crypto market, and it's typically the first cryptocurrency into any investor's portfolio. There's a good reason for that: Bitcoin has been the clear market leader in performance over the past decade. If you want to capture the performance of the crypto market, you need to have a position in Bitcoin. Long story short, Bitcoin still looks like crypto's best generational wealth bet, and here's why. With Bitcoin, it's important to keep your eye on the big picture. Yes, Bitcoin is down a disappointing 40% since October. Newmarket’s 2,000 Guineas starts at 3.35pm (BST) Get in touch: email Greg about today’s racing Good afternoon from Newmarket on the first Saturday in May – 2,000 Guineas day, in other words, and a date that has been circled on the calendars of Flat racing fans since the 2025 turf season concluded in November. The first Classic of the new campaign – one of just five all season – has a long and storied history that stretches back to 1809, and the original prize, as the name suggests, was 2,000gns, or £2,100. That, so Google tells me at least, is the equivalent of £220k today, so the actual first prize for this afternoon’s winner, which is a shade under £300k after a couple of supplementary entries earlier in the week, compares fairly well. Some of the biggest REIT markets include: United States Canada Mexico United Kingdom Germany France Singapore Japan Hong Kong Australia South Africa NAREIT But which are the most undervalued REITs right now? It is not an easy question to answer, as most REITs are objectively cheap today, trading at historically low FFO multiples and large discounts to net asset values: Principal Even then, there are some specific property sectors that stand out for being even more heavily discounted. We are heavily investing in those at High Yield Landlord in an effort to capture larger gains in the coming years, as REITs recover from their bear market: Self-Storage, Particularly in Europe Self-storage REITs have suffered in recent years due to the bumpiness caused by the pandemic. It initially led to a huge surge in demand as people were seeking to make space for a home office. Many were also relocating to look for better opportunities. Finally, we also had more deaths than usual, with people leaving a lot of stuff behind. But this quickly attracted the attention of property developers, wh...
