Family pushing for greater controls after inquest finds Oliver Robinson’s prescription was ‘obstacle’ to proper care Oliver Robinson felt he had exhausted conventional therapies when he left the Priory, a private mental health facility where he was treated for depression and addiction between 2019 and 2022. Initially he found relief from a new kind of prescription elsewhere. But by the time he took his own life in November 2023, aged 34, his medicine was making him worse. In January, an inquest concluded that Robinson’s prescription for medicinal cannabis had “probably contributed to his death”. Catherine McKenna, the coroner for Manchester North, also ruled that his continued use of the prescription, first issued to him in May 2022 by Curaleaf Clinic, a private cannabis provider, “acted as an obstacle” to him receiving appropriate psychiatric and addiction care. His family understand this to be the first ruling of its kind. Continue reading...

"That said, Micron and its memory peers have begun negotiations with the hyperscalers on 3-5 year strategic or long-term agreements to lock in base volumes, prepayments, and adjustments to quarterly pricing based on market conditions, which should provide support to contract prices, in our view," said Citi analysts in a Tuesday investor note. Citi also indicated that Google's ( GOOG )( GOOGL ) TurboQuant buzz has led to the lower spot price on DRAM. "Citi expects TurboQuant to have similar effects to DeepSeek ( DEEPSEEK )," the financial firm noted. "At face value, a new efficiency technique such as TurboQuant reduces AI compute and memory cost per inquiry, but it also further unlocks usage, which ultimately increases compute/memory demand. We see the computing demand as a function of (1) individual computing needs and (2) usage. Demand for compute/memory shrinking will depend on the differential between how much (1) is coming down via innovations and (2) is going up as a factor of lower computing cost. Historically, we think cheaper technology has mostly increased the demand for more technology. We see AI as no different." Since Google revealed TurboQuant in a blog post on March 24, Micron's share price has declined by 19%. The decline has spread across memory and storage stocks, including Western Digital ( WDC ), Seagate Technology ( STX ), and Sandisk ( SNDK ). "TurboQuant, as described in the Google Research Blog in detail, is a compression technique that promises model size reduction via new quantization techniques," Citi noted. "This eases KV cache and vector search calculations. In a nutshell, TurboQuant first randomly rotates the data vectors to find key marking via the PolarQuant technique to simplif...

Sundry Photography Cisco Systems ( CSCO ), Arista Networks ( ANET ), and Motorola Solutions ( MSI ) are Truist's favorite networking stocks, as the investment firm sees the trio benefiting from artificial intelligence spending. “Networking/Hardware represents the group most directly linked to elevated AI/cloud investment, at a time when US hyperscaler capex alone is forecasted to total ~$700bn in 2026E, up nearly 60% yoy (following +66% and +55% the last two years!),” analyst Matthew Niknam wrote in a note to clients. Niknam added that looking beyond just the AI spending, the transition to inference from training has resulted in more spending in areas such as traditional servers and campus networking. “ That said, we also favor a more selective approach to the stocks , considering relatively higher valuations ( at/near decade+ highs, in select cases ), and our expectation for more inflationary headwinds ( memory, shipping/freight, on top of existing tariff impacts ) that could impact volumes/demand in forward periods,” Niknam added. Niknam has a Buy rating on Cisco, Arista, and Motorola Solutions, and his price targets are $94, $161, and $540, respectively. Tomlw/iStock via Getty Images Thesis If I had to sum it up, Gevo, Inc. ( GEVO ) is trying to become a green version of an oil company. They turn corn and other plant material into fuels that work almost exactly like gasoline, diesel, or jet fuel, but with significantly lower carbon emissions. At least for me, the really interesting part is that airlines, trucks, and cars can use Gevo’s fuels without modifying their engines or infrastructure. You can think of the way they make money in a few buckets. First, there's selling sustainable fuel, especially jet fuel. Their biggest play is something called SAF (sustainable aviation fuel). They also produce and sell RND (renewable natural gas), license their technology, and generate revenue from carbon credits and incentives. Seeking Alpha In terms of performance, this year, particularly post-earnings, GEVO’s been on a tear. And just yesterday, shares climbed another 10%. But taking everything into account, after reviewing the latest data and fundamentals, I’m neutral. The value proposition works on paper, but with so much hinging on execution, the risk-reward doesn’t tilt much in investors’ favor. Gevo: Transition to Multi-Revenue Clean Energy Company I think the stock going up yesterday makes sense overall. But to me, the more important takeaway from Gevo’s second ethanol plant in North Dakota is that management seems to believe the Richardton project can be copied and repeated in other locations. In other words, they’re betting this whole stack of ethanol, carbon capture, sequestration, and eventually alcohol-to-jet actually works better as a package. Ethanol production (2025) : 69M gallons Carbon captured (2025): 173,000 metric tons Carbon credit inventory (Q4 2025): ~30,000 tons. Before, I think investors viewed Gevo as a company focused on producing SAF in the future, which would require a lot of time and money to get there. But now, the story is changing. It’s starting to look more like a business that can already mak...
