In a wide-ranging discussion, the Intel head honcho credited many reasons for Intel's recovery from its previously shaky spot, including a change in management style. "In the past, we made a lot of mistakes, and now we correct that mistake, and we simplify the roadmap. From day one I came on board as a CEO, I have all the engineering report to me," said Tan. "They didn't report to the previous CEO?" asked Cramer. "No," Tan replied. "And so, in a way, they [had] too many silos, too many people needed reporting. And even though they come to the CEO, they are not paying attention to it." The price of WTI crude fell over -1% on Wednesday after Reuters reported that two Chinese supertankers transited the Strait of Hormuz early in the day and a third, South Korean-flagged vessel, was also exiting the waterway. U.S. President Donald Trump suggested on Tuesday that the war with Iran could end “very quickly,” while also cautioning that the U.S. could restart military strikes. “I hope we don’t have to do the war, but we may have to give them another big hit,” Trump told reporters. Meanwhile, Iran warned on Wednesday that it would expand the war beyond the Middle East if the U.S. attacks again. Treasury yields fell across the curve on Wednesday, with the 10-year rate sliding three basis points to 4.64%. With traders still strongly leaning toward a Fed rate hike in December, markets remain highly sensitive to signs of escalation or de-escalation in the Middle East. The authors call on the government to take legislative action on alcohol comparable to restrictions on smoking. Living Longer, Better – the Oxford Longevity Project’s first Age-less Report – was co-authored by an interdisciplinary panel of UK-based experts in medicine, physiology, ageing and education policy. It was sponsored by Oxford Healthspan. Before reporting the latest numbers, we at the Lab have a positive sector view of the EU Medtech industry. The sector has underperformed compared to the broader market since mid-2022. This was due to COVID-19 tailwinds, which led many companies to report muted sales growth expectations. Still, the sector was negatively influenced by China headwinds, inflation, and rising rates and tariffs. In the meantime, the company presented a supportive Investor Day and recently released its Q1 print-out. Philips appears well-positioned to benefit from improving sector dynamics and a continued acceleration in underlying revenue trends. Our buy rating was also supported by a sector that has underperformed for several years, creating an attractive valuation backdrop. Since our last update (January 2026), Philips shares are down by 11%, but we believe the equity investment has de-risked. This provides a solid entry point. Mare Ev.
