Last month, Elon Musk's SpaceX confidentially filed initial public offering (IPO) paperwork with the Securities and Exchange Commission and the company plans to start its IPO roadshow on June 8, where executives will pitch the stock to institutional investors and analysts. SpaceX has not set a specific IPO date, but shares will probably start trading in late June or early July. The rocket and satellite manufacturer is reportedly seeking a $1.75 trillion valuation for the listing, which would make it the largest IPO in U.S. history by a wide margin. Despite the excitement, investors should think twice before buying SpaceX shares right away. From its initial valuation, history says the stock is likely to underperform the S&P 500 (SNPINDEX: ^GSPC) over the long term. Continue reading

hapabapa/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Novo Nordisk ( NVO ) raised its outlook for the year, after strong early demand for its oral Wegovy pill helped revive momentum in its obesity business. Excluding the 340B provision reversal, the Danish drugmaker now expects adjusted sales and operating profit to contract between 4% and 12%, compared with an earlier forecast of a 5%–13% Y/Y decline. Shares rose as much as +7.5% in early trading, roughly halving their decline for the year. Novo said first-quarter sales jumped 32% on a constant currency basis to reach DKK 96.8B, positively impacted by a provision reversal related to the 340B Drug Pricing Program in the US. On an adjusted basis, sales fell 4% at CER, driven by lower realized prices, partly offset by GLP-1 volume growth across geographies. Operating profit surged 65% to DKK 59.6B at CER. The quarter marked the first reporting period to include U.S. sales of Novo’s oral Wegovy pill for weight loss. The drug generated DKK 2.26B in sales, significantly surpassing Reuters-compiled analyst expectations of DKK 1.16B. The Wegovy pill was launched in the U.S. on January 5, 2026, and for the week ending April 17, total weekly prescriptions exceeded 200K. Coupled with total prescriptions for Q1 of around 1.3M and now more than 2M since launch, it marks the strongest-ever GLP-1 volume launch in the US, Novo said. Pending regulatory decisions, the first Wegovy pill launches outside the U.S. are expected during the second half of 2026. Meanwhile, sales of injectable Wegovy rose 12% at CER to DKK 18.2B, below market expectations. Ozempic sales fell by 8%, but came in above expectations, according to LSEG. Overall, obesity care sales increased by 22% at CER in Q1, on an adjusted basis. “The strong Wegovy performance, combined with continued growth in International Operations, has led us to raise our 2026 guidance for both adjusted sales and adjusted operating profit,” CEO Mike Doustdar said in a statement alongside the result...

Userba011d64_201/iStock via Getty Images Investment Outlook Rimini Street ( RMNI ) recently reported its Q1 2026 financial results , beating revenue expectations but missing earnings estimates. I previously analyzed RMNI in July 2023 with a Hold outlook due to a slowing macroeconomic environment resulting in slow revenue growth. Revenue growth has suffered from ongoing headwinds, but the firm appears to be repositioning itself to become a modernization partner with an agentic AI overlay on legacy systems. So, my outlook remains a neutral Hold on continued uncertainties for revenue growth as management navigates a changing client environment in the GenAI era. If accomplished, that growth would represent a CAGR of 9.5% from 2024 to 2030, a strong growth rate given the already large size of the market. The primary reasons for this projected growth are demand for automation technologies to reduce everyday tasks and additional features to keep up with or anticipate ...

Euro-area pay growth is set to accelerate in the second half of the year, the European Central Bank said as it gauges whether spillovers from high energy costs will require it to increase interest rates. The ECB’s wage tracker , published Wednesday, predicts salaries will rise by an annual 2.6% in both the third and fourth quarters. That’s stronger than the projection for the first six months, but still far below the 2024 peak of more than 5%. The ECB is assessing whether things like salary demands will sustain the jump in inflation caused by the Iran war. After rates were kept at 2% last week, President Christine Lagarde said firms don’t currently plan to boost wages significantly. But fresh memories of the 2022 price spike may trigger rapid compensation requests by workers. An ECB survey published this week showed companies in the first quarter still anticipated wage growth would moderate to 2.9% this year and 2.8% and next, from 3.5% in 2025.
