Olivier Le Moal/iStock via Getty Images Note: The stocks shortlisted and highlighted in this article are not buy recommendations per se but rather candidates for further research. Before making any investments, please use due diligence, considering your personal goals and risk tolerance. Also, some sections in the article may be repetitive from month to month for the benefit of the new readers. The regular readers could skip them. However, we recommend that first-time readers refer to our BLOGPOST here to get a detailed explanation of our selection methodology/process and additional criteria for Dividend Growth Stocks. Introduction: Every month, we start with about 400 to 500 dividend-paying stocks and use our proprietary and unique filtering criteria to bring down the number of selections to a small subset of about 20 stocks. The emphasis here is on high growth rather than high yield. Generally, we end up with stocks that pay dividend yields in the range of 1% to 1.5%, which is in line with what the S&P 500 pays as well. These 20 stocks are from diverse sectors and industries, but they all have one aspect in common. They appear to be in their period of hypergrowth with great momentum. As a final step, we analyze each of the 20 stocks and use our judgment to come up with a final list of just 10 stocks. The majority of our selections (if not all) have a market cap of $10 billion or more. Who should follow this series? The stocks highlighted in this series are for investors who are in their accumulation phase and are more interested in growing their capital at a rapid pace rather than in their current income. The focus of the selections is dividend growth and growth sustainability rather than high current yield. In that sense, the risk profile of these stocks is generally higher, and they are not suitable for conservative investors or investors who need high current incomes to sustain their lifestyle. Market Outlook Recently, the market had a big rally following the e...

41% Of Muslim Youth In Vienna Believe Their Religious Laws Take Precedence Via Remix News, A recent study conducted on behalf of the city of Vienna highlights a concerning trend among young Muslims regarding their religious and political views. This follows the recent announcement that Muslim children now comprise nearly 41 percent of the population in Vienna’s compulsory schools , making them the largest religious group. The study, published on May 12, 2026, was led by Kenan Güngör. He classifies the results as “very worrying,” noting that religion occupies a much larger space in the lives of Muslim youth compared to their peers . One of the most significant findings involves the hierarchy of legal and religious authority. Forty-one percent of Muslim youth agree with the statement that their religious laws take precedence over the laws in Austria , compared to 21 percent of Christian youth, as reported in Austrian news outlet Der Standard . Furthermore, 46 percent of Muslim respondents believe that one must be prepared to “fight and die in defense of one’s faith,” a view shared by 24 percent of Christians. Specifically, 73 percent of Shiite and 68 percent of Sunni Muslims identify as religious, while only 41 percent of Catholic and 38 percent of Orthodox Christian youth say the same. The study also delves into social and everyday religious expectations, showing that 36 percent of Muslim youth believe that all people should follow the rules of their religion, and more than half believe Muslim women should wear headscarves in public. Additionally, 65 percent say Islamic regulations apply to all areas of everyday life and must be strictly observed. Regarding these figures, Güngör speaks of social pressure within these communities. Views on governance and social equality also show a distinct divide. While 82 percent of Austrians view democracy as the best form of government, support drops to 47 percent for Syrians, 50 percent for Chechens, and 61 percent for Afghans. C...

EY UK has paid more than £100 million ($133 million) to the administrators of NMC Health Plc to settle claims it was negligent in its audits of the failed firm, according to people familiar with the matter. NMC sued EY for more than £2 billion in the UK courts over the alleged negligence, but the two sides settled the case on confidential terms without admission of liability by EY, according to NMC’s latest administration report filed at UK Companies House. The filing shows settlement of legal claims of £105.5 million, which people familiar with the matter said was the amount of EY’s settlement. An EY spokesperson said the firm was no longer in a dispute with NMC but declined to comment further. A spokesperson for the administrators Alvarez & Marsal confirmed the claim against EY had settled, but said its terms are confidential. NMC collapsed in 2020 after a short seller’s report revealed the scale of the company’s troubles. The UK’s markets watchdog criticized the collapsed Middle Eastern hospital operator in 2023 for misleading investors about its debt position by as much as $4 billion. Lawyers for the formerly FTSE 100-listed firm claimed that EY failed to spot billions in debt at NMC when it audited the company between 2012 and 2018. EY in turn said its auditors had been duped by a sophisticated fraud. The administrators have ongoing legal claims in the UK against NMC’s founder Bavaguthu Raghuram Shetty, its former Chief Executive Officer Prasanth Manghat and India’s Bank of Baroda over the collapse of the business. A “consensual stay” on those claims has been agreed pending the outcome of separate litigation taking place in Abu Dhabi, according to the administrators’ report, which is dated May 8. Unsecured creditors of the failed firm are set to get a payout, but the report said it could not be accurately estimated at this stage. Shareholders in the company aren’t expected to receive anything from the administration process. The administrators said that £47.9 m...

MJ_Prototype/iStock via Getty Images The datacom market outlook was recently revised upwards by LightCounting, which J.P. Morgan analysts said proves positive for optical component suppliers, including Coherent ( COHR ), Fabrinet ( FN ), and Lumentum ( LITE ). "The datacom growth outlook remains robust, with the total market forecast once again revised upward and now expected to expand at nearly a +35% CAGR through 2028, led primarily by 1.6T and, to a slightly lesser extent, 800G data rates," said J.P. Morgan analysts, led by Samik Chatterjee, in an industry report. The growth percentage translates to the datacom market expanding from $19B in 2025 to $47B by 2028. "From a data rate perspective, growth over the forecast period is being driven by 1.6T, which is expected to expand at ~200% CAGR to $21 bn, followed by 800G, which is projected to grow at nearly +26% CAGR to $21 bn," Chatterjee noted. "Additionally, 3.2T is expected to contribute modestly in 2028E, while 400G and lower data rates are expected to decline over the forecast period." At the same time, the optical attach rate per XPU continues to increase. The blended attach rate is forecast to expand from less than four times in 2025 to four and a half times by 2027. "That said, attach rates can vary by architecture, according to industry experts, with Google's ( GOOG )( GOOGL ) use of optical circuit switches resulting in an attach rate closer to 1.5x per TPU, while Nvidia ( NVDA ) deployments track closer to 6.0x per GPU," Chatterjee said. In addition, the co-packaged optics total addressable market is projected to reach $2B by 2028 and surge to $11B by 2030. "However, the latest guidance from Lumentum is already driving us to forecast their CPO revenues to be ~$2 bn in CY28, implying overall CPO market TAM to be well ahead of the $2 bn level, which is currently being forecasted by the industry analysts for 2028," Chatterjee added. "We believe that estimates from industry analysts are conservative and are ...

Vivek Vishwakarma/iStock via Getty Images Wall Street moves pretty fast, often eschewing ‘slow and steady’ names while going in favor of higher valued growth names. But slow and steady can indeed win the race when you factor in valuation, dividends, and long-term compounding potential. Such I find the case with Alpine Income Property Trust ( PINE ), which I last covered back in December 2025, highlighting its near-perfect occupancy ratio and attractive valuation. PINE has since produced a 15% total return, which is double that of the 7.6% rise in the S&P 500 ( SPY ) over the same timeframe. Despite the impressive return, PINE remains attractively valued at $18.73 with a forward P/FFO below 9x and a +6% dividend yield, as shown below. PINE Stock 1-Yr Trend (Seeking Alpha) In this article, I revisit PINE, including recent business results , and discuss why it remains a great value and income pick, so let’s dig in! Why PINE? Alpine Income Property Trust is a net lease REIT that’s unique in that it’s externally managed by another REIT, CTO Realty Growth ( CTO ). The CTO owns 14% of PINE’s outstanding shares, which helps to ensure an alignment of interest between the CTO and PINE. At present, PINE owns 125 properties that are spread across 31 U.S. states. Like its bigger peers Realty Income ( O ) and Agree Realty ( ADC ), half of PINE’s ABR (annual base rent) stems from investment-grade rated tenants. It also has a comparable weighted average remaining lease term of 9.3 years. As shown below, top tenants include industry leading names like Lowe’s ( LOW ), DICK'S Sporting Goods ( DKS ), Walmart ( WMT ), Best Buy ( BBY ), and Dollar General ( DG ). Investor Presentation PINE continued to see solid growth during Q1 2026, with FFO per share rising by 20% YoY to $0.53. Occupancy remained near perfect at 99.5%. As a smaller REIT, PINE has the advantage in that it doesn’t take as much investment volume to move the needle as it would for a much larger one like NNN REIT ( NNN ). ...

Dunk, nibble or wolf them down: this classic biscuit is at its best when it’s just sugar, butter and flour, so be wary of those that stray from the rules • The best extra-chocolatey biscuits At its best and simplest, shortbread is made using a classic 1:2:3 ratio – one part sugar, two parts butter and three parts flour, by weight. Perhaps unsurprisingly, few supermarket shortbreads stick to that golden rule and include other ingredients such as cornflour and raising agents; they’re nothing to worry about – but some cut the butter (and costs) by using rapeseed oil, margarine or worse. Unlike most manufactured products, however, the price of shortbread doesn’t always reflect the level of processing, and some of the cheapest are also the least processed. Look out for “all-butter” on the label, to make sure the shortbread doesn’t include oil and has that classic, buttery taste. And don’t be fooled by fancy packaging. Continue reading...

Once Upon a Time in Harlem, completed by relatives of William Greaves after his death, showcased at Cannes In 1969, the pioneering documentarian William Greaves wrote of his fury over the racially degrading stereotypes that white film producers threw up on American screens. “It became clear to me that unless we black people began to produce information for screen and television there would always be a distortion of the ‘black image,’” he said. Three years later, Greaves began work on what he considered the most important footage he ever shot: a feature documentary gathering surviving figures of the Harlem Renaissance to reflect on the movement they had built half a century earlier. High-pitched squeals emanated from the direction of a disused military barracks across the road. “That would be the call to love,” Bruni said. “The male peacocks are courting the female ones – we’re in peak mating season.” As another couple of peacocks wandered by, their iridescent trains sweeping the pavement behind them, this could be mistaken for a wildlife park. But the scene is Punta Marina, a seaside town on the Adriatic coast of Italy’s Emilia-Romagna region that has been colonised by the birds, to the delight – or despair – of its approximately 1,000 residents. Mike Coppola | Getty Images Among the live sports and entertainment shows that carried media companies' presentations to advertisers this week, another pitch kept popping up: creator content. The category of videos, which can amass millions of views on Google's YouTube and other social media platforms, is increasingly sharing the stage with traditional Hollywood offerings during the annual presentations known as "upfronts." Creator content is already taking a big share of advertiser dollars. In 2025, advertiser spending on the genre reached $37 billion, according to a recent report from the Interactive Advertising Bureau . This year, it's expected to reach $44 billion, the report found. "They are this generation's storytellers, tastemakers and stars, producing the most relevant and engaging programming on the planet," said Brian Albert, managing director of YouTube Solutions. "And advertisers have recognized that they don't just have large audiences, they have communities that trust them. It's why they want to partner with them now, more so than ever." The shift to streaming over traditional TV has led sports, especially the NFL , as well as live events to beckon the highest ad rates — especially when media companies are paying hefty premiums for the live rights. With streaming, however, advertisers get more bang for their buck , industry executives have told CNBC. That's true whether it's a simulcast sporting event on streaming platforms or the exclusive rights to video podcasts or children's programs like "Ms. Rachel." Those economics — combined with the need to capture elusive, younger audiences — are spurring demand for ad-supported inventory, and opening the door to more creator-led content on traditional platforms. YouTube claims the biggest share of ...

watch now VIDEO 3:07 03:07 Why Spirit Airline jets are headed to the deserts of Arizona Airlines When Spirit Airlines shut down before dawn on May 2, work for pilot Steve Giordano was just beginning. Giordano, managing partner of the Nomadic Aviation Group, told CNBC he organized a massive repossession of more than 20 Spirit planes that lessors wanted returned . In just over a week, he said he and his team ferried 23 Spirit planes from airports around the country to the Arizona desert. Just hours earlier , those bright yellow Airbus jets had been flying Spirit customers. Giordano, who runs Nomadic with co-founder Bob Allen, was starting to hear in the late morning on May 1 that his team would be at work soon. "We finally got the trigger pulled to start moving crews at 6 p.m." on May 1, he said. Spirit shut down at 3 a.m. ET the next morning. So Nomadic and hired pilots — some of whom were previously flying for Spirit — began ferrying the aircraft out West with no customers on board to special airports outside of Phoenix and Tuscon, Arizona, where they'll be stored for now. Retired or otherwise unused aircraft are often parked out in the desert because the climate reduces the risk of corrosion or other damage. Airlines parked thousands of them there when travel collapsed in the Covid pandemic. Repossessing aircraft A retired Spirit Airlines Airbus plane in Coolidge, Arizona, in February 2023. Leslie Josephs/CNBC Nomadic organizes everything from getting fuel for the planes it's flying to ensuring the aircraft have necessary inspections and crews for the flights. Unlike with an airline that has a large staff of dispatchers, mechanics and pilots, "when you're out on a mission like this, there's a lot more responsibility as far as getting the mission accomplished," Giordano told CNBC. "To be honest, the easy part of this is the flying part of it." Nomadic is a specialist in aviation. The company typically transports aircraft to new customers around the world. Rarely, th...

Welcome to the Wall Street Week newsletter, bringing you stories of capitalism about things you need to know, but even more things you need to think about. I’m David Westin , and this week Ray Dalio took us through US-China relations as the presidents met in Beijing, and we took score of the penthouse tax war between Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Ken Griffin. If you’re not yet a subscriber, sign up here for this newsletter. Dalio: “Entering a tribute system” President Donald Trump took a trip to Beijing this week, just as Bridgewater founder Ray Dalio has done many times over the past several decades. Having paid another visit just shortly before the summit, Dalio says that from the Chinese perspective, “they think the United States is declining and that they are sort of winning that relative war.” That perception of relative strength is based in large part on the economics: “China is making a ton of money through their export earnings and the amount of financial assets that they’ve accumulated and are accumulating is huge.” One important issue overhanging talks between the two countries is the US war in Iran, which caused Trump to delay his meetings with President Xi Jinping. Dalio says the war is affecting not only the US and China, but the way the rest of the world perceives the relative strengths of the two countries. Mamdani “Caught Between a Rock and a Hard Place” New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani spent the week trying to make his budget numbers work. He started out with a $12.6 billion budget gap for this fiscal year and next, something former Jersey City Mayor Steve Fulop (who now runs the Partnership for New City) recognizes as “a real problem.” Fulop said that “the problem is that you have a spending problem and less of a revenue problem.” But one of the candidates who ran for mayor against Mamdani, Wall Street veteran Whitney Tilson, says “making real budget cuts” will affect “the unions that were among his biggest supporters,” which puts the mayor “between a rock...

Bloomberg | Bloomberg | Getty Images Cerebras Systems ' raucous IPO this week gave investors a taste of what's to come in artificial intelligence. But it also served as a reminder of how hard it is for non-AI companies to capture Wall Street's attention. Shares of the AI chipmaker popped almost 70% in their market debut on Thursday, lifting the company's market cap to about $95 billion. Only two tech companies have ever closed their first day of trading in the U.S. with valuations of $100 billion or more: Alibaba and Facebook . Cerebras also holds the distinction of largest IPO of the year and the biggest offering for a U.S. tech company since Uber hit the market in 2019. While the excitement around Cerebras would seem to bode well for a tech IPO market that's been largely dormant for the past four-plus years, the problem for just about every company in the pipeline is that they're not named SpaceX, OpenAI or Anthropic. Those three companies — each valued near or above $1 trillion — are in some stage of IPO prep, with SpaceX expected to file its public prospectus as soon as next week and the other two eyeing debuts later this year. Their offerings will dwarf anything that's come before them and serve to further illustrate how small all the other multibillion-dollar pre-IPO companies are by comparison. jetcityimage/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Co-authored by Kody's Dividends How do you invest in the market? Perhaps you use one of the investment channels through a major bank like Bank of America ( BAC ), Chase ( JPM ), or Citibank ( C ), or perhaps you jump on a popular trading app like Robinhood ( HOOD ) or SoFi ( SOFI ) or use one of the more historically established brokerages like Fidelity or Schwab ( SCHW ). Regardless of how you access the market, you do it through an avenue provided to you by a company that finds a way to profit from your individual activity, whether that's holding on to your cash and providing you interest as a bank does at a discounted rate versus Treasury rates, whether that's benefiting from your trading activity as you move in and out of different holdings, or whether you pay for additional add-on services to the brokerage. Ironically, many investors fail to consider that perhaps they want to be the shareholders of the brokerage company they're using instead of simply being a client. Moving from just being a client to being a partial owner can be an extremely rewarding transition, but doing so requires you to carefully evaluate every aspect of the company you want to buy into. Buying companies just because you have a relationship with them without doing fundamental research on them can lead to disaster. This is why we provide regular access to the framework that we use to evaluate every single company to members of Dividend Kings . They're able to look into any company utilizing this framework and evaluate it effectively and quickly. This global chokepoint has now been largely unpassable for over two and a half months now. In addition, there is no concrete way forward yet to restore normalized traffic to this key transit point. The latest U.S. conflict in the Middle East has triggered a huge surge in energy and commodity prices. These impacts showed up in full force this week, in hotter than expected April CPI and PPI readings. These have boosted the probabilities of Stagflation and taken the possibility of any future Fed Funds reductions off the table for now. If inflation pressure continues to increase, the next move by central banks might well be an interest rate hike. Zero Hedge There are mounting signs the markets are forming a top, and the next significant move in equities will be down. In today's column, I highlight five things that appear to be signaling a top in equity levels. #1 - Market Concentration LSEG, Topdown Charts This is one of the most obvious signs the market is beginning to top. Technology and tech related stocks now account for 57% of overall market capitalization. They are also an excellent way to "mark your beliefs to market." In general, I go in order of long leading indicators, then short leading indicators, then coincident indicators. A Note on Methodology Data is presented in a "just the facts, ma'am" format with a minimum of commentary so that bias is minimized. Where relevant, I include 12-month highs and lows in the data in parentheses to the right. All data taken from St. Louis FRED unless otherwise linked. A few items (e.g., Financial Conditions indexes, regional Fed indexes, stock prices, the yield curve) have their own metrics based on long-term studies of their behavior. Where data is seasonally adjusted, generally it is scored positively if it is within the top 1/3 of that range, negative in the bottom 1/3, and neutral in between. Where it is not seasonally adjusted, and there are seasonal issues, waiting for the YoY change to change sign will lag the turning point. Thus I make use of a convention: data is scored neutral if it is less than 1/2 as positive/negative as at its 12-month extreme. With long leading indicators, which by definition turn at least 12 months before a turning point in the economy as a whole, there is an additional rule: data is automatically negative if, during an expansion, it has not made a new peak in the past year, with the sole exception that it is scored neutral if it is moving in the right direction and is close to making a new high.
