Most stocks would take a hit after a company announces the exit of its founder-CEO on the same morning it posts financial results that fell roughly in line with expectations. Viking Holdings (NYSE: VIK) isn't most stocks. The leader in river cruises for North American outbound passengers jumped higher on Thursday after a double dose of news, hitting a new all-time high in the process. Viking stock has now nearly doubled over the past year, a sharp contrast to the market performance of the three more traditional cruise line stocks in that time. It's a differentiated product, consisting primarily of a fleet of smaller boats with 95 cabins. The larger traditional ocean liners have thousands of cabins. The major cruise lines are starting to dip their toes into the river cruise market -- just as Viking is dabbling in small ocean liners -- but its dominance and strong brand loyalty continue to pay off. Every weekday, the CNBC Investing Club with Jim Cramer releases the Homestretch — an actionable afternoon update, just in time for the last hour of trading on Wall Street. Markets are rallying to new record highs again as the Dow Jones Industrial Average crosses back above 50,000. Technology stocks are leading the market higher, but the rally is broader than previous days with financials, staples, industrials, and some consumer names participating. One stock not taking part in Thursday's rally is Boeing. Shares fell about 4% and gave back all the gains since we learned CEO Kelly Ortberg was joining the trip to China. The reason for the pullback: President Donald Trump said on Fox News that China agreed to order 200 "big" Boeing jets. It's the first order the company has received in China in years, but the stock took a hit on the news. In a vacuum, China buying Boeing planes is great news. It's the second largest aerospace market in the world and is important to Boeing's future. However, expectations always matter in investing. The order was viewed as a major disappointment because Bloomberg News reported in March that it could be for up to 500 narrowbody 737 Max jets. So, 200 may be a big number, but it's not 500. It's also unclear what type of aircraft China is buying. We have not seen a comment from Boeing. We're not changing our long-term thesis on Boeing – which is based on ramping production and delivering more planes – but this stings. Dover is scaling up its ability to meet AI-related demand. On Wednesday night, Dover subsidiary SWEP announced an additional $30 million investment to expand manufacturing capacity for brazed plate heat exchangers, which are crucial for the cooling of AI data centers. The two-year investment will more than double the capacity for these products through new furnaces, test equipment, press lines and automation in Dover's factories. OpenAI lawyers are working with an outside legal firm on several options that could be formally executed in the near future, the report added . This could include sending Apple a notice alleging breach of contract without necessarily filing a full lawsuit at the outset. OpenAI enlisted the outside firm recently to help with the situation, the report noted. Apple and OpenAI did not immediately respond to Seeking Alpha's request for comment. OpenAI believed that the two companies' collaboration, which wove ChatGPT into Apple software, may result in more users subscribing to the chatbot. The company also anticipated deeper integration across more Apple apps and prime placement within the Siri assistant, according to the report. However, the iPhone maker's use of OpenAI technology across its operating systems remains limited, and features can be difficult to find, the report added. "We have done everything from a product perspective," said an OpenAI executive who asked not to be named, as per the report. "They have not, and worse, they haven’t even made an honest effort." Apple has had its own concerns about OpenAI, including if the startup does enough to protect user privacy. In addition, a recent push by OpenAI to make devices — an effort overseen by former Apple executives — has irked Apple, the report added. Any legal move by OpenAI likely would not come until after the completion of its trial with Elon Musk. No final decisions have been made, and OpenAI still hopes to resolve the issues with Apple outside of court, according to the report.
