Two-cap veteran picked on bench against France Forward had contract but returned to dentistry career Dentist and lecturer Liz Crake has been named on the bench for England’s grand slam decider against France on Sunday as Kelsey Clifford has been ruled out with injury. Crake, who has two caps, was called into the squad after Hannah Botterman was ruled out of the entire Six Nations with an ankle issue. Second-choice loosehead prop Clifford picked up a leg injury against Italy last weekend and so Mackenzie Carson will start and the head coach, John Mitchell, who said he has had been forced into 20 player changes across the tournament because of pregnancy and injury, is having to test his side’s depth. Crake, 31, did have a contract with England in the 2024-25 season but has had to turn back to dentistry for this campaign. She is not the only part-time professional player to compete for the Red Roses during this Six Nations. Christiana Balogun, who works as a recruitment consultant, came off of the bench against Italy because of an injury to Maddie Feaunati. The Rugby Football Union has 32 full-time contracts in place for Red Roses players. Those who are not contracted get paid for the days they are in camp and a matchday fee. The captain Meg Jones said: “The players [Crake and Balogun] are full of resilience, the way they are able to come in and switch on and switch off based on their other circumstances as well. It’s definitely probably one of those things that you take for granted when you’ve been in it [professionalism] for so long. Continue reading...

The anticipated sale of a shuttered college campus in Ohio means Bank of America Corp. will likely recoup some of its investment two years after closure — but that still might not be enough to recover the full $18 million it’s owed. Located outside of Cleveland, century-old Notre Dame College closed its doors in 2024 due to declining enrollment and a debt load that administrators described as significant. Bank of America purchased $20 million of bonds from the private college almost two decades ago, secured by the campus. The bank filed a lawsuit foreclosing on the property last year, with court documents showing it is owed $17.8 million. In an auction last week, the winning bidder, Akron Children’s Hospital, agreed to buy the campus for $8 million. A court hearing on the campus sale is set for May 28. Colleges typically sell their campuses when they close in order to repay investors. As the sole debt holder, Bank of America has first priority on the university’s real and personal property, making the sale of the campus an important step for the bank to reclaim at least some of its debt. The bank could recoup more money as other assets are sold: The university plans to auction lab equipment and furniture later this month. A spokesperson for Bank of America declined to comment. Located on 48 acres, the South Euclid, Ohio, campus listed for sale by Keen-Summit Capital Partners featured an English Tudor Gothic administrative building, residence halls and parking spaces. Athletic facilities included those for soccer and lacrosse. “The campus offers a buyer an opportunity to acquire a fully built-out collegiate setting suitable for continued use as a higher-education institution or potential repositioning for other mission-driven or institutional users seeking a suburban Cleveland hub,” the website advertising the sale said. Kathy Johnson, a spokesperson for Akron Children’s, confirmed the hospital’s successful bid. “We believe the campus is a great location for future p...

In a blog post yesterday, Robbins was quick to boast that Cisco’s fiscal Q3 2026 earnings saw revenue increase 12 percent year-over-year to $15.8 billion. He told employees that he and the rest of Cisco’s executive leadership team “could not be prouder of the growth you have all delivered for Cisco.” But that pride could apparently not save the company’s successful employees from unemployment.
