Alistair Berg/DigitalVision via Getty Images For the past few weeks, it has felt as if the stock market has kept falling due to the same news: escalating tensions in Iran and a relatively weaker macroeconomy that has made the Q4 earnings season less optimistic than we had hoped. Amid this backdrop, however, I continue to emphasize single stock selection and active portfolio management as the core way to beat the markets. In my view, many attractive value-buying opportunities have opened up in the recent slide. ThredUp ( TDUP ), an online thrifting and resale platform, is one such stock. ThredUp had a banner year in 2025 as investors pounced on its huge growth rates, but since January, the stock has lost more than 40% of its value. ThredUp's growth rates are moderating downward, but at the same time its bottom-line multiples are heading toward a more reasonable spot. The question for investors now is, does ThredUp have more to lose, or is now the right time to buy the dip? Data by YCharts I last wrote a "Buy" article on ThredUp in November, when the stock was trading in the low $7s. Needless to say, I did not predict the SaaSpocalypse, the rising geopolitical conflicts, and all the other macro-driven factors that have sparked a massive selloff in growth stocks since the start of 2026. At the same time, such a steep decline in any stock warrants a look with fresh eyes. When I analyze ThredUp again from a blank slate, I find more appeal in the stock in the $3s and at more reasonable adjusted EBITDA multiples than I did in the past. I'm reiterating my "Buy" rating here. Two factors are worth mentioning upfront in defending the buy case for ThredUp today. The first is that while ThredUp has hit some near-term snags in terms of adjusted EBITDA margin, the company is still on track for long-term expansion in adjusted EBITDA that makes its current multiples feel reasonable. At current share prices near $3, ThredUp trades at a market cap of $431.9 million. After we net off t...

EU Accuses Hungary Of 'Pro-Russian Espionage' Authored by Lucas Leiroz de Almeida via InfoBrics, The rhetorical escalation between Budapest and Brussels continues to grow. Now, the EU accuses Hungary of actively sabotaging Europe by passing strategic information about the bloc to the Russian side. This type of serious accusation could never be made without proof, yet it has become common practice for the Western liberal regimes to accuse its rival countries of “collaborating with Russia” even without any evidence. In a recent statement , the Hungarian Foreign Minister responded to recent European accusations of pro-Russian "espionage" by Hungarian authorities. According to the Hungarian minister, the EU is spreading lies and fake news about Hungary to try to influence the anti-Orban opposition, hoping to obtain a pro-EU result in the upcoming Hungarian elections. Szijjarto's words were especially directed at Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who had previously repeated rumors that Hungarian officials had informed Russia about sensitive details of the European bloc's meetings. Tusk acted extremely irresponsibly by spreading unconfirmed rumors on his social media – and even calling on the EU to take action against Hungary. "The news that Orbán’s people inform Moscow about EU Council meetings in every detail shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. We’ve had our suspicions about that for a long time. That’s one reason why I take the floor only when strictly necessary and say just as much as necessary," Tusk said . Szijjarto made it clear that Tusk's words are an attempt to provoke dissent in Hungary and mobilize the opposition against the government during the election period. However, he expressed optimism about the Hungarian government's ability to overcome these challenges, recalling that recent attempts by Brussels to defeat the pro-Orban coalition had failed due to strong popular support for the government. “Instead of spreading lies and fake news, come to Budapes...

Despite our recent comment on the company's upside in early February 2026, Enel updated its investors at a capital markets day, announced a new €1 billion buyback, and presented its fiscal year results on 19 March. Our Enel investment equity story has evolved over the years. At the very beginning, there was a valuation opportunity to grab (combined with a low P/E and a higher yield) and a deleverage story. Now, Enel is in a different phase. We reported upside from a Third Growth Engine (new data centre growth, battery energy storage upside). Still, the company is in a perfect sweet spot for its regulated grids’ EBITDA and M&A upside. Last time, we also reported that the Capital Markets Day, with the presentation of the 2026–2028 strategic plan, was expected to mark a positive milestone. Indeed, the company reacted positively, but then the escalation in the Middle East began. So, Enel's share price declined by almost 4% (Fig. 1), but we still see upside ahead. Mare Ev. Lab Rating Update Fig. 1 Enel Results and Our Upside Case We will be brief on the yearly comment because we will also present the CMD insights (in the upside section). Enel reported 2025 top-line sales of €80.3 billion, up 1.8% from 2024. This was supported by volume growth. EBITDA growth was higher, at +2% to almost €22.9 billion (Fig. 2). Enel was penalised by lower Italian energy prices in the marketing division. Despite negative headwinds from hydro disposal, the company reported solid growth in the areas that matter, such as the grid. As shown in Fig. 2, the grid EBITDA increased from €8 billion in 2024 to €8.9 billion in 2025. This was due to CAPEX acceleration and is aligned with our investment thesis. Higher RAB means higher earnings visibility. Enel also reported positive EBITDA contribution from international activities. Going down to the P&L report, aside from positive operations, ...
