maybefalse/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Earlier this year, I reiterated my buy rating on Alibaba Group Holding Limited ( BABA ). In that analysis I found promising signs, including accelerating AI cloud growth and expanding AI applications. Meanwhile, the valuation reflected that the market was under-appreciating the fact that the company is building an AI arsenal. In the rating history chart below, it is shown that the stock actually hasn't performed that well, with there being losses since my update came out. Nonetheless, the Chinese tech giant reported their latest earnings just earlier this morning (May 13), and so today I will be revisiting their fundamentals to see if the bull thesis remains intact. Seeking Alpha Below, encouraging signs for Alibaba are shown. Growth for the company as a whole is accelerating, and performance in their AI + Cloud businesses was strong. While profitability seems concerning, the weakness stems from the long-term investments in their business, so investors shouldn't be deterred. The outlook for Alibaba is arguably strengthening, but the forward P/E ratio has taken a rather large plunge so far this year. With the risk/reward looking favorable for outperformance, I have decided to reiterate my buy rating on Alibaba. However, when excluding the divestiture of Sun Art and Intime, there was in reality comparable YoY growth of 11%, which is much more respectable. Either way, there was top-line growth acceleration from their 2025 December quarter. We'll, of course, get into their segments in a little bit, but overall business activity is seeing a notable amount of acceleration, and of course that's a good sign. It was reported that they missed...
