What we want to see is: A smaller share of CCGT generation in the mix, which we think will likely have poorer margins given the Iran War. More hydro in the mix, whose margins should improve given the effects of the Iran War on marginal energy pricing in a CCGT-dependent Europe. On top of that, installed capacity continues to rise at EDPR. It's not a poor play tactically speaking. On the other hand, there is the issue that net debt continues to rise, and they aren't really making any progress in deleveraging, which is limiting dividend growth. We would prefer to see deleveraging as a capital allocation priority as mentioned in our previous coverage . However, we like the tactical angle here. Results The company just reported results. Hydro, other ( Q1 Press) Our initial reaction is that CCGT generation picked up in the mix considerably by growing 12% against the overall increase in TWh. Electricity prices were falling as of the Q1 compared to last year, but we don't expect this to last. The overall effect was a hit to the EBITDA. Networks ( Q1 Press) RAB growth was solid in Iberian markets, and new transmission and infrastructure projects in Brazil helped to increase remuneration there, with greater underlying RAB growth and also compensation rates through regulatory WACC (indexed to domestic rate conditions). EDPR ( Q1 Press) The other generation business focused on ex-hydro renewables did well in terms of installed capacity, with projects evidently continuing to be delivered, but limited overall generation and similar declines in selling prices. The situation other than in regulated utilities supported by decent RAB growth and government-determined compensation was of limited volume growth against price declines causing slight overall pressure, but mostly with the resiliency that is typical of utilities. Outlook ( Q1 Press) The outlook of EBITDA grow...

Wolterk Seagate Technology ( STX ) received a new $1,000 price target from investment firm Evercore ISI after it held meetings with Seagate CFO Gianluca Romano and an investor relations executive. Following the meetings, Evercore analyst Amit Daryanani said there were several takeaways: that Seagate is positioned for long-term “durable” growth, as it focuses on increasing exabytes through areal density improvements, via ways such as Heat-Assisted Magnetic Recording; its long-term agreements can provide multi-year visibility, with some extending through 2027; the fact that hard-disk drives are “fundamentally different” than NAND, and as such, pricing dynamics don't impact hard disk drives; the ramp of HAMR is just getting started, with a strong outlook all the way through 2030; and finally, hard disk drives are not likely to be the gating technology. “Other components in the stack — power (the persistent constraint), DRAM, NAND, etc. — will almost always be the binding bottleneck, not HDDs, allowing Seagate to enjoy pricing leverage,” Daryanani added. He maintained his Outperform rating on Seagate. “Underlying [exabyte] demand has been strong over the past several quarters, driven primarily by AI — specifically the shift to training, generating data, and inferencing,” Daryanani explained. “Generative video AI is a meaningful uplift to exabyte consumption as video applications consume far more storage than text. Because AI runs 24/7, data creation is increasing exponentially, and adjacent applications such as autonomous driving (e.g., Waymo expanding into more cities), cameras, and sensors are layering on additional demand. A second structural change from AI is around retention: historically, every company and individual had its own strategy to delete data and free up storage; with AI the philosophy has flipped — the bigger the data pool, the better the AI, and the cost of deleting now exceeds the cost of storing.” More on Seagate Technology Seagate: The Most Overvalu...

e-crow/iStock via Getty Images Overview Integra Resources ( ITRG ) is a smaller gold mining company with assets in the United States. The company has the higher-cost producing mine Florida Canyon together with the development projects DeLamar and Nevada North. This is a company I have covered frequently in the past; my prior articles on the company can be found here . Today's article will primarily focus on the Q1 2026 result that was released yesterday after the close. Integra will also be hosting a webcast at 11 am EDT today, which can be watched here . I am long the stock. Figure 1 - Source: Integra Resources Presentation The stock price performance of Integra was impressive last year, but we have seen a 37% drawdown this year, which is substantially more than most peers. The year-to-date return is negative 27%, which I view as a buying opportunity for a stock that was far from expensive before the recent drawdown. Figure 2 - Source: Koyfin After a very strong 2025, some period of consolidation might make sense, but the primary reason for the 2026 underperformance is likely because of a $61M bought deal at $3.40 per share in February of this year. The company has guided for higher sustaining capital investments in 2026, which might have muted the stock price returns as well, but that was flagged during last year for anyone that listened to the CEO. The expectation is that the sustaining capital investment will decrease from 2027 onwards, at a time when the gold production will increase from around 72.5Koz to 85Koz. Figure 3 - Source: Integra Resources Press Release - Guidance Q1 2026 Result Integra Resources reported $22M in operating cash flow before changes in working capital during Q1 2026, which is actually a new record for the company. Operating income was $16M and adjusted earnings were $13M, down from what we have seen in prior quarters.
