The ETF seeks to replicate the performance of the Richard Bernstein Advisors American Industrial Renaissance Index, which selects companies likely to gain from the renaissance of manufacturing in the US using an unique methodology. The methodology starts with the Russell 2500 investment universe and eliminates all companies other than industrials and banks, keeping only those banking firms located in traditional manufacturing centers. Furthermore, the index excludes any firm generating greater than 25% of its income outside of the U.S. and those without positive mean 12-month forward consensus earnings estimates. The outcome is an index with a heavy concentration in specific sectors. Approximately 90% of the portfolio consists of the Industrials sector and the remainder being Community banking. Data by YCharts Some of the major holdings are companies like EMCOR Group, Inc. ( EME ), Sterling Infrastructure, Inc. ( STRL ), Comfort Systems USA, Inc. ( FIX ) and more, these are companies specialized in construction, industrial machinery, infrastructure components. Reshoring of manufacturing activity in America, fueled both by tariff policy and the One Big Beautiful Bill Act's (OBBBA's) permanent bonus depreciation is expected to spur the creation of factories in the United States that provide direct investment opportunity in AIRR's holdings. Geopolitical fragmentation is making supply chain resilience something of paramount concern for companies. Lastly, AIRR’s mid and small cap tilt is expected to perform well in an ongoing potential monetary easing cycle. The Fund We'll take a look at some key fund characteristics. The companies said the MoU establishes a framework for technical and commercial discussions related to exploration activities on the block, part of a broader push by Syria's new government to attract foreign investment after years of civil war and sanctions. In 2011, TotalEnergies ( TTE ) produced 53K boe/day in Syria before leaving at the start of the 14-year war that devastated the country's economy and infrastructure. Interest among energy majors for new Syrian projects is growing; on Monday, Chevron ( CVX ) selected a site for Syria's first deepwater oil and gas project , with technical operations starting this summer. Canadian IT consulting firm CGI Inc. appointed a new chief executive officer after the company’s share price tumbled about 40% in a year, largely due to concerns about disruption from artificial intelligence upstarts such as Anthropic PBC . François Boulanger is retiring after less than three years as CEO and has been succeeded by President Tim Hurlebaus , who had been overseeing the company’s operations across the US, the UK and Australia. The move is effective Tuesday. Many investors view recent developments in AI as a major threat to the business models of tech consulting firms like CGI and Accenture Plc . During a conference call on April 29, Boulanger attempted to reverse the negative sentiment by outlining the firm’s AI strategy and explaining how CGI can play a role in embedding AI into the companies and institutions it serves. “Standalone AI tools are not a substitute for enterprise IT. They accelerate tasks and processes but don’t solve integration at scale,” he told analysts. But the stock still fell 11% that day, the most since 2022. Hurlebaus started his career at Montreal-based CGI as a developer and consultant and has been in IT consulting for more than 35 years, according to a statement announcing the appointment. National Bank of Canada analyst Richard Tse said in a note to clients that the change indicates the board “is looking to reset the narrative around growth, acquisitions, and AI with new leadership.” “Tim has the leadership track record as well as the combination of industry knowledge and technology expertise in client delivery that will guide CGI’s growth in this AI-first era,” Julie Godin, CGI’s executive chair, said in the statement.

Ivan Pantic/E+ via Getty Images Inflation continues to tick higher, and the culprit shouldn’t surprise. The American consumer likely doesn’t need the Labor Department’s monthly CPI report to state the obvious to them. Gas prices are high. What could be more concerning is the increase in inflation even after stripping gas from the equation. With the core reading inching higher to 2.8% from 2.6% in the month prior, inflation appears to be moving away from the Federal Reserve’s (“Fed”) reach. That was one takeaway from today’s monthly CPI print. Ahead of the release, U.S. equities have held gains, even though all three indexes, including the Dow Jones Industrial Average ( DJI ), S&P 500 ( SPY ), and Nasdaq Composite ( NDX ), traded lower prior to the opening bell. The volatility stems from a combination of strength propelled by a relatively strong earnings season, offset by continued geopolitical uncertainty . In the day before the release of the April CPI report , President Trump said he wanted a temporary suspension of the gas tax as one mean to blunt higher prices. While it’s worth a mention, it’s unlikely to move the needle significantly, in my view. I believe that observers should expect CPI to continue running hot through the summer months. Here’s what else to know about the April CPI report. Where Did Prices Increase In April? Monthly CPI came in hotter than expected at 3.8% in April. That was above the 3.7% expected, and it was several steps above the 3.3% reported in March. I opined in my March CPI analysis that CPI would continue to rise higher into April, and I highlighted the obvious culprit of higher gasoline prices. This came to fruition during the month. After rising an eye watering 21.2% in March, the index for gasoline rose another 5.4% in April. This brings the twelve month rate to a 28.4% mark. Looking ahead, I expect the gasoline index to remain high through the entirety of the summer months. In the most recent AAA release , the agency reported that...
