Jonathan Kitchen Lux Capital co-founder Josh Wolfe has made two major public conviction calls, Nvidia ( NVDA ) at the Invest for Kids conference in 2016, which returned roughly 80x, and a 2024 bet on memory suppliers around the HBM narrative. His third, which he told his wife and investment committee about on February 21, is "lifecording": the thesis that wearable hardware devices will record daily life, audio first, then video, with AI continuously processing and surfacing connections. He sees Meta's ( META ) acquisition of the Limitless pendant, Amazon's ( AMZN ) Bee wearable, and the OpenAI/Jony Ive device project as early proof points. "Wall Street doesn't have a name for this yet," he wrote in a playbook shared publicly last week. "That's the opportunity." Following his signature "arms dealers" methodology, backing component suppliers rather than device makers, Wolfe allocated a model $2M across nine positions mapping to the full hardware stack: Nordic Semiconductor ( NDCVF ) for BLE wireless, TDK ( TTDKY ) for MEMS microphones, Himax ( HIMX ) for AR optics, Ambiq Micro ( AMBQ ) for edge AI, Infineon ( IFNNY ) for power management, CEVA ( CEVA ) for DSP licensing, Synaptics ( SYNA ) for IoT SoC, Enovix ( ENVX ) for next-generation batteries, and Cirrus Logic ( CRUS ) for audio codec. Most positions carried sub-$5B market caps at entry, and all are held in his personal account, not the Lux fund. Seeking Alpha's Quant system offers a divided read on the basket. Infineon ( IFNNY ) is the strongest-rated name with a Strong Buy score of 4.81, followed by Synaptics ( SYNA ) at 4.58, two names the Quant system independently endorses on valuation, growth, momentum, and profitability. Cirrus Logic ( CRUS ) and Himax ( HIMX ) sit in Hold territory at 3.27 and 3.26, while CEVA (2.89) and TDK (2.76) also carry Hold ratings. Enovix ( ENVX ) sits at the bottom with a Sell rating of 1.54, a flag worth noting for a position Wolfe sized at 7%. Wolfe's highest-conviction name wa...
