My top 10 things to watch Monday, May 11 1. Usual oil price rally of 2%, which is standard now. Stocks are flat. Maybe that's what makes this such a standoff. U.S. refineries are now processing 16.3 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude, up from the average 13.5 million bpd. This is unsustainable, but helping, and refinery margins are immense as long as the Iran war drags on. 2. Barclays raised its PT on CoreWeave to $120 from $106. The firm viewed the AI infrastructure provider's earnings last week as strong, exceeding first-quarter revenue expectations. But guidance for the second quarter was light, pushing shares down 11%. My take? Revenue is clearly still growing, but operating expenses are growing even faster. I'm dying to know when that's going to change. 3. If you missed my Sunday column , I wrote about why it's not too late to buy some of the data center stocks that have been winning. None of the so-called really smart investors I speak to and watch on television are talking about the profits that are about to be made. 4. Corning gained 3.4% premarket after Bank of America added the stock to its "US 1 list," a collection of the firm's best investment ideas. Fellow Club names Apple , Nvidia , and Microsoft are also on the list. Corning was our top performer last week, up 18%, after the company announced a major supply agreement with Nvidia. 5. Barclays hiked its price target on Palo Alto Networks to $220 from $200, about 6% higher than Friday's closing level. The analysts like the cyber stock's setup ahead of third-quarter earnings next month, forecasting potential upside in remaining performance obligations following strong organic checks. As a result, shares "could outperform through the summer heading into a seasonally strong 4Q," the firm said. 6. Wendy's downgraded to sell from hold over at JPMorgan. Analysts pointed to the continued decline in U.S. same-store sales, with little visibility into how the fast-food chain will meet its guidance for improvem...

Stocks are at record highs, and Ed Yardeni thinks there's much more upside to be had. The president of Yardeni Research and longtime market strategist hiked his year-end S & P 500 target to 8,250 from 7,700. That's 11.5% above Friday's close of 7,398.93. The driver for this sharp outlook boils down to one word: earnings. "I've been bullish, but not bullish enough," Yardeni told CNBC's " Squawk Box " in an interview Monday. "The earnings estimates of analysts have been phenomenal. I've never seen anything like it." Yardeni isn't the only one getting more bullish on stocks due to strong earnings. HSBC raised its 2026 S & P 500 forecast to 7,650 and noted the benchmark could top 8,000. It also revised higher its year-end earnings forecast by 8%. Indeed, this earnings season has been exceptional. More than 400 S & P 500 companies have posted results, with 84% of those exceeding bottom line estimates, according to FactSet. If that beat rate holds by the end of the reporting period, it would mark the highest beat rate since Q2 2021, FactSet senior earnings analyst John Butters wrote. Those companies have also posted a whopping 25.6% year-over-year earnings expansion, which is far higher than the five-year average of 7.1%. High oil prices stemming from the U.S.-Iran war, however, could dampen earnings going forward. West Texas Intermediate futures have soared 71% this year. Yet, Yardeni isn't too worried. "The key to all of this is … don't underestimate the resilience of the economy, the resilience of the consumer. If that continues to be the case, then the same goes for earnings," Yardeni said, adding that analysts are raising their second- and third-quarter earnings estimates. This week's earnings calendar is light with only eight S & P 500 members scheduled to report. Next week, artificial intelligence powerhouse Nvidia — along with retail giants Home Depot , Walmart and Lowe's — are set to release results.

As of May 10, 2026, the company's crypto holdings are comprised of 5.206M ETH at $2,366 per ETH, 201 Bitcoin, a $200M stake in Beast Industries, an $88M stake in Eightco ( ORBS ) ("moonshots"), and a total cash of $775M. Bitmine's ETH holdings are 4.31% of the ETH supply (of 120.7 million ETH). "Since the start of 2026, Bitmine has acquired over 1 million ETH and has accumulated over 4.3% of the ETH supply. We intend to hold and stake our ETH holdings, which means our ETH holdings are essentially reducing the available supply of ETH and have removed 4.3% of the ETH supply since June 30th, 2025. In other words, ETH supply has been disinflationary since June 2025," said Thomas Lee , Chairman of Bitmine. As of May 10, 2026, Bitmine's total staked ETH stands at 4.71M ($11.1B at $2,366 per ETH). "Bitmine has staked more ETH than other entities in the world. At scale (when Bitmine's ETH is fully staked by MAVAN and its staking partners), the projected ETH staking reward is $352M annually (using 2.86% 7-day BMNR yield)," stated Lee. "Annualized staking revenues are now $319M. And this 4.7M ETH is over 90% of the 5.21M ETH held by Bitmine. Bitmine's own staking operations generated a 7-day yield of 2.86% (annualized)," continued Lee. Sundry Photography SoftBank's ( SFTBY ) ( SFTBF ) Founder Masayoshi Son has held discussions with French President Emmanuel Macron about unveiling a large AI data center project in France in the coming weeks, Bloomberg News reported, citing people with knowledge of the matter. Son is thinking about a multibillion-dollar investment in France as part of the Japanese conglomerate's broader push into building AI infrastructure. Son has pitched the idea of putting up to $100B into the European country, but he may not get close to that figure if he decides to prioritize other projects, the report added . Macron proposed the AI idea during a recent meeting with Son in Tokyo, and the unveiling may come as soon as this month. Son, who was used to fielding similar inquiries from other company chiefs, was intrigued by an approach made directly by a head of state and began reviewing the matter in earnest, the report noted. Macron and Son could announce their plans during the Choose France Summit — an annual event of industry leaders that Macron started in 2018 to attract foreign investment and promote France’s business appeal. Details of the project are not known, and the scope of the potential investment could change, the report added. SoftBank did not immediately respond to Seeking Alpha's request for comment. The French plans follow SoftBank’s announcement in March to build a large-scale data center project in Ohio, potentially channeling $500B to set up 10 gigawatts, or GW, of capacity. The company is planning to power it with about $33B worth of natural gas-fired electricity. These projects are in addition to a $500B Stargate initiative that SoftBank is working on in collaboration with OpenAI ( OPENAI ), Oracle ( ORCL ), and Abu Dhabi’s MGX to set up data centers in the U.S. Besides data center projects, SoftBank has committed to investing over $60B in Microsoft ( MSFT )-backed OpenAI for a stake of about 13%. JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Investment Thesis On April 30, the L3Harris Technologies ( LHX ) report for the first quarter was released. The company has demonstrated strong financial results, significantly ahead of market expectations and my personal forecasts. Revenue growth rates remain high, backlog is growing, and EPS overall turned out to be 13% higher than the consensus forecast. At the same time, since April, the shares have strongly adjusted in price by 15-18% due to the unstable geopolitical situation and overbought stocks in February-March. There was a great opportunity to purchase shares of one of the leaders of the military industry at a good price. According to my estimate, the fair value of the stock in the baseline scenario is $354 with an upside of 18.1% to the current price ($299.6 at the time of writing). I keep the Buy rating. Strong Orders Continue to Support Revenue Growth I recommend reading my first three articles about L3Harris Technologies, among other things. There, in addition to financial analysis of the reports, I also deeply analyzed the company's business model , described its development strategy, the strengths and weaknesses of this strategy, and the key growth drivers and risks inherent in the company. This will help you gain a deeper understanding of the business and better understand the reasons for the company's current financial situation. And now I will proceed to the analysis of the latest report. Investor Presentation Revenue for Q1 increased by 11.7% yoy to $5.74 billion . For comparison, the consensus forecast was $5.41 billion , which is as much as 6% lower than the actual result. My forecast turned out to be even lower – I expected $5.35-5.40 billion. At the same time, management draws attention to the fact that organic revenue growth turned out to be even higher – by 15% yoy. This is because last year's revenue included income from the CAS disposal group business, which L3Harris owned at that time. This ad...

Welcome back to Bloomberg’s Auto Monitor , a weekly roundup of stories on the automotive industry from reporters around the world. Sign up now if you’re not already on the list. The accord unveiled Friday between Stellantis and Leapmotor is one of the first examples of a major Western automaker relying on Chinese technology to bolster its lineup in Europe. That could herald a sea change for the continent. We also have stories on a plunge in Chinese car sales, a surprising forecast from Toyota and Polestar’s pursuit of a net-zero car. Market Snapshot Stellantis NV $7.74 +3.5% Volkswagen AG $90.75 +0.7% Tesla Inc $428.35 +4.0% Toyota Motor Corp $2,870.00 -1.5% BYD Co Ltd $101.70 +2.0% Market data as of 09:13 AM ET. Data is subject to provider delays. The big story Stellantis is turning to China for help with overhauling its European operations, a move that could shape the future of carmaking in the region. The owner of the Fiat and Opel brands on Friday announced plans to hand its factory in Madrid, Spain, to a joint venture with Leapmotor. The Chinese partner will also work with Opel on a new electric SUV that the Zaragoza plant may produce as soon as 2028. The move would secure future output and jobs in Spain, while giving Leapmotor the local production footprint it needs to sidestep European Union import tariffs and tightening local content rules. While that reads like a win-win, it’s a sea change for Europe’s automaking landscape, and a recognition by Stellantis that it needs the advanced EV technology and speedy development cycles pioneered in China to compete. And the closer collaboration with a fast-moving Chinese manufacturer may well foreshadow more such deals in the region. Volkswagen CEO Oliver Blume recently said he was open to sharing its European factories with Chinese partner. Investors expect to hear more from Stellantis CEO Antonio Filosa and Chairman John Elkann about the future strategy of the conglomerate at an event in the US later this month. Whi...

MikeMareen/iStock via Getty Images Investment Thesis In my last article about Super Micro Computer Inc. (NASDAQ: SMCI ), I mentioned the company’s main growth catalyst, namely: The fast-to-market of Data Center Building Block Solutions (DCBBS) Tech moat in cooling systems with its Direct Liquid Cooling (DLC) product Global expansion In the present article, I will assess how well, or not, the above catalysts are performing. In addition, I will try to value the company based on its surer aspects, such as revenue growth and strong demand, in combination with crucial uncertain aspects of revenue timing, supply constraints, and heavy working capital needs. Recap and Assessment of Growth Catalysts Performance Fast Time-to-Market of DCBBS As I wrote in my previous article: “DCBBS includes every hardware component that a data center needs to operate, such as GPU, CPU, storage, cooling systems, and any other hardware, with the target of offering a ‘plug-and-play’ solution for its clients”. Q3’26 Presentation Management used phrases like : Our DCBBS business continues to grow exactly as what we plan, showing a consistent and accelerating contribution to our top line and bottom line quarter-over-quarter. And I believe our DCBBS will soon contribute more than 25% of our total profit in the coming few years. We expect DCBBS, including software and service to continue its rapid growth and to become a major part of our key value mechanism. Domestically, we recently announced our largest U.S. site to date, a new DCBBS campus in Silicon Valley, just 1 mile away from our headquarter. In next 2 years, I personally expect at least 20% of our net income will be from DCBBS, including the management software. In short, SMCI believes that DCBBS is a game changer for itself because it creates value for its clients and could boost its low margins. My concern is that management did not disclose any specific quantitative metrics about how the DCBBS business performs. Instead, management focuse...
