The FBI seized and took down two websites linked to the pro-Iranian hacktivist group Handala, which last week claimed responsibility for a destructive cyberattack against the U.S. medical tech giant Stryker. As of Thursday, the contents of a website where Handala publicized its hacks, as well as another website that the group used to dox dozens of people over their alleged ties to the Israeli military and defense contractors, such as Elbit Systems and NSO Group, were replaced by a banner announcing the law enforcement action. The seizure announcement did not say why the FBI and the Justice Department took down the websites. But the language in them appears to indicate U.S. authorities believed these sites were run by hackers linked to a foreign government. “Law enforcement authorities determined this domain was used to conduct, facilitate, or support malicious cyber activities on behalf of, or in coordination with, a foreign state actor,” read the seizure announcement. “The United States Government has taken control of this domain to disrupt ongoing malicious cyber operations and prevent further exploitation.” TechCrunch confirmed the website’s seizure by examining its nameserver records, which now point to servers controlled by the FBI. This is in spite of revenue still growing by over 10% annually, strong and improving margins, and over $10 billion in TTM free cash flow. Rather than weakening fundamentals, the poor stock performance is largely due to three primary investor concerns: Canva and other lower-cost tools will steal market share. Generative AI (GenAI) will commoditize high-end creative software, degrading Adobe's pricing power. Seat compression due to AI productivity gains will cripple Adobe's subscription model. After evaluating these concerns, I believe the market is seriously discounting Adobe's competitive positioning. I also believe the market has fundamentally mistaken Adobe's business model in the AI era by pricing in disruption without accounting for increased monetization potential. And the problem is there's this brutal competition in that industry in e-commerce in China. Not a surprise there. So, let's go over some of the earnings highlights. AI cloud is still the part that works. So, cloud revenue up 36%, AI related product revenue, uh, triple digit growth for 10 consecutive quarters. Uh, the company says the business goal of Alibaba's AI strategy is very clear. Over the next five years, our goal is to surpass 100 billion dollars in combined combined cloud and AI external revenue, what you were just talking about, Julie. Core results were weak enough to overpower that AI pitch though. So revenue was up 2% to 285 billion yuan. Net income down 67%. So that's a big drop in in profits. Um, so Alibaba needs a number of things to kind of fall into place. The monetization story still not really convincing yet. AI revenue goal implies roughly 35% annual growth. E-commerce and food delivery still the main earnings drivers, but we talked about those headwinds of being so much competition there. Bloomberg Intelligence saying Alibaba's push into agentic AI and crea creation of token hub will not alter the e-commerce giant's AI profit profit outlook which remains challenged. The major averages have all moved to the downside, with the Nasdaq hitting a six-month intraday low. Currently, the major averages are well off their lows of the session but still firmly negative. The Dow is down 328.78 points or 0.7 percent at 45,896.37, the Nasdaq is down 134.40 points or 0.6 percent at 22,018.02 and the S&P 500 is down 35.39 points or 0.5 percent at 6,589.31. The weakness on Wall Street comes amid concerns about the escalation of the war in the Middle East following attacks on critical energy infrastructure across the region. Israel bombed Iran's South Pars natural gas fields and oil facilities in Asaluyeh, while an Iranian missile attack on Qatar's Ras Laffan energy complex caused "extensive damage," according to the country's state-run energy firm. President Donald Trump threatened in a post on Truth Social to "massively blow up the entirety of the South Pars Gas Field at an amount of strength and power that Iran has never seen or witnessed before" if there are further attacks on Qatar. After soaring to nearly $120 a barrel following the latest attacks, Brent crude oil futures have given back some ground but remain above $111 a barrel. In U.S. economic news, the Labor Department released a report showing an unexpected dip in first-time claims for U.S. unemployment benefits in the week ended March 14th. The report said initial jobless claims fell to 205,000, a decrease of 8,000 from the previous week's unrevised level of 213,000. Economists had expected jobless claims to inch up to 215,000. The Labor Department said the less volatile four-week moving average also edged down to 210,750, a decrease of 750 from the previous week's revised average of 211,500. Analyst Jamie Rollo and the analyst team lowered FY26 and FY26 estimates on Carnival ( CCL ) to factor in softer revenue yield and higher fuel costs. It was noted that the 28% year-to-date share price decline for CCL is in line with its Iraqi War, Russia-Ukraine and Arab Spring drops, and all those down periods were followed by material rebounds. "We also think both CCL (internal levers, strong FCF) and the industry (lower orderbook) are in better shape than in prior downturns. Upgrade to Overweight on attractive risk-reward balance," updated Rollo. On a broad look, Carnival ( CCL ) was noted to be showing good progress on improving returns by shuffling ships between brands, exiting underperforming hardware, adding high-return private destinations, and reducing costs. Falling net debt and interest costs were also highlighted as being important EPS drivers. In terms of the other cruise line stocks, Morgan Stanley kept an Equal Weight rating on Royal Caribbean ( RCL ) on a risk-reward seen as less compelling. The firm stayed Overweight on Viking Holdings ( VIK ) after the recent pullback, despite higher European exposure, given a longer booking curve, more resilient consumer base, less exposure to onboard oscillations, and lower fuel sensitivity. Meanwhile, Morgan Stanley stuck with an Equal Weight rating on Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings ( NCLH ), pointing to concerns over uncertainty with Great Stirrup Cay and a need to balance any cost-cutting actions with reinvestment. The notes were offered to private investors, with the details to be decided at the time of pricing. As a result of this development, Nebius will now be able to raise cash at favorable interest rates while giving its investors the possibility to convert the investment into potential equity. The company intends to use the proceeds to expand its existing AI cloud and data center business. This expansion is a direct result of deals that the firm has signed with hyperscalers and other strategic partners. For Nebius investors, the promising part is that Nebius is raising this money to cater to the demand for its products. However, there is also the risk of shareholding dilution if these notes are eventually converted to equity. The U.S. Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency has warned companies to secure systems for managing their fleets of employee devices after pro-Iran hackers broke into medical tech giant Stryker and mass-wiped thousands of its phones, tablets, and computers. The agency said on Thursday that it was urging companies to take action and confirmed it was aware that hackers used their access to Stryker’s Windows-based network to misuse its device endpoint systems, causing ongoing outages to the company’s global operations. Among the advice, CISA said network administrators should ensure that certain user accounts who have access to systems like Microsoft Intune, which Stryker uses to remotely manage its employees’ devices, can only make sensitive or high-impact changes (such as wiping devices) with a second administrator’s approval. Stryker, which develops medical devices and equipment for hospitals, confirmed on March 11 that it had been hacked, saying it was experiencing “global disruption” to its network. The company said the hackers did not deploy malware or ransomware, but reports say that the hackers abused their access to Stryker’s internal systems to access its Intune dashboards to remotely delete the data stored on tens of thousands of employee devices, including personal phones and computers connected to Stryker’s network. Initially started with breaking down silos, Datadog now assists massive enterprises with complex cloud infrastructure with services like infrastructure monitoring, application performance monitoring and cloud security to detect threats. Being a SaaS provider, Datadog has been affected by the SaaS apocalypse and its fears, leading to a stagnant stock price over the last few months. Despite already a decline of over 35% since it peaked back in November, Datadog remains expensive despite having a solid moat and impressive growth numbers. Hence, I'm rating Datadog at a 'Hold'. Datadog's Moat History of Innovation (Datadog IR) Datadog's legacy has been in observability, around infrastructure, application performance monitoring, logs and digital experience. Datadog has also expanded to security(front end), digital applications and experience, product analytics to applying AI into platforms. Rather than firms having an extremely fragmented service with different tools for different services, Datadog essentially solves this by having one platform so users don't need to switch platforms, waste time and improve decision making. Pre-market futures are attempting to fight back from early morning lows at this hour, following better-than-expected Weekly Jobless Claims and Philly Fed data, along with a mixed bag of earnings reports out before the opening bell. The Dow is currently -294 points, -0.63%, the S&P 500 -43, -0.65%, the Nasdaq -181, -0.74%, and the small-cap Russell 2000 is -26 points, -1.05%. Weekly Jobless Claims Remain Historically Excellent Once again, Initial Jobless Claims came in below expectations for last week, to 205K from 215K estimated. This is the lowest figure we’ve seen since early January, which was the last time we were sub-200K. They follow an unrevised 213K from the previous week. These levels are consistent with a robust labor market, even though we understand it’s more of a “low hire/low fire” environment. Continuing Claims came in at 1.857 million in this morning’s report — the 10th straight week below 1.9 million longer-term jobless claims, and down from the upwardly revised 1.860 million the prior week. In 2025, from April through mid-November we were between 1.89 and 1.975 million longer-term claims, without ever tipping the scales at the psychologically important 2 million continuing claims. And we’ve only gotten better since then. GSK ( GSK ) announced on Thursday that the U.S. FDA approved Lynavoy as a treatment for an itching condition called cholestatic pruritus associated with primary biliary cholangitis (PBC), a rare disorder characterized by disruption to bile flow from the liver. Indicated for adults with cholestatic pruritus due to PBC, Lynavoy, also known as linerixibat, is the first medicine approved in the U.S. for the condition, the British drugmaker said. GSK ( GSK ) has signed an agreement to manufacture and market linerixibat globally in collaboration with Alfasigma, an Italian pharma company that acquired U.S. liver drugmaker Intercept Pharmaceuticals in 2023.
