'Worst Disruption To Oil Flows Ever': Oil Surges After Iran's Oil, Gas Assets Attacked Energy headlines summary: Iran says oil and gas assets are under attack Iraq reroutes flows through Ceyhan Pipeline to Turkey Iran reiterates new rules in place for Hormuz transit "The blockade is now the worst disruption to oil flows ever. Real barrels are now disappearing from global oil markets, which can lead to demand destruction in the weeks to come." * * * Update (0748ET): WTI crude futures are surging after Iranian state TV reported that part of the South Pars gas field in the Persian Gulf area had been hit by an airstrike. South Pars is the backbone of Iran’s gas system and part of the world’s largest natural gas field, which Iran shares with Qatar, where the same reservoir is called the North Field. Most of Iran’s gas production comes from South Pars, making it central to power generation, industrial feedstock, petrochemical production, and winter heating demand in Iran. WTI futures quickly surged to $95/bbl on the news. Operation Epic Fury appears to have shifted toward targeting the IRGC’s funding lines. This was evident last week with strikes on the Kharg Island export hub. * * * Brent crude futures were directionless overnight, oscillating between $100 and $103 per barrel after news broke that Iraq had found a workaround for the Hormuz chokepoint by restarting exports through Turkey's Ceyhan port. Bloomberg reports that North Oil Co.'s oil pipeline to Ceyhan port, with an expected initial export capacity of 250,000 barrels, has begun operation. That is in addition to 210,000 barrels per day from Kurdistan through the northern pipeline, according to Oil Minister Hayyan Abdul Ghani. Ceyhan exports crude from the Kurdistan and Kirkuk fields (Iraq) to the Mediterranean port, effectively bypassing the chaos at the Hormuz chokepoint and in the Gulf region. Disruption of tanker flows in the critical waterway forced Iraqi oil production to plunge to about 1.4 million barrels...

luismmolina/iStock via Getty Images Gran Tierra Energy ( GTE ) down 12.2% pre-market Wednesday after saying four board members resigned due to disagreements over the handling of an audit committee investigation; following the resignations, the board reduced its size from nine directors to five. According to an 8-K filing , the resignations stemmed from a disagreement with the majority of the then five-member audit committee regarding the handling of the committee's independent investigation into an anonymous complaint; the company said the complaint does not involve any allegations of fraudulent activity or misstatement in its financial statements. Separately, Gran Tierra ( GTE ) said it agreed to acquire a 49% working interest in the Tisquirama block in Colombia's Middle Magdalena Valley Basin; specific terms were not disclosed. The block contains the Tisquirama and San Roque fields, which produced an average of 2,500 boe/day on a gross basis in 2025 and are located adjacent to the company's Acordionero field. Swiss pharma giant Roche (RHHBY) announced that it is expanding its AI (artificial intelligence) infrastructure by deploying an AI factory powered by 2,176 Nvidia (NVDA) GPUs (graphics processing units). Roche’s U.S.-listed shares rose 2.6% in Monday’s regular trading session. Roche Enhances AI Capabilities with Nvidia GPUs Roche highlighted that with the addition of the 2,176 Nvidia chips, the company’s combined on-premises and cloud infrastructure now exceeds 3,500 Blackwell GPUs, which is the “greatest announced GPU footprint available to a pharmaceutical company.” The company expects its enhanced AI infrastructure to accelerate the development of diagnostics solutions and therapeutics. Roche’s collaboration with Nvidia began in 2023. The company expects the latest deployment of Nvidia’s Blackwell chips to boost drug development through high-quality data and AI. Furthermore, Nvidia’s BioNeMo platform enhances Roche’s Lab-in-the-Loop, in which biological and chemical experiments are linked to the company’s AI models, enabling scientists to test hypotheses at scale and accelerate drug discovery. Similarly, NVIDIA Omniverse libraries will optimize Roche’s manufacturing, while NVIDIA Parabricks software will enhance diagnostics. In digital health, Roche leverages NVIDIA NeMo Guardrails to deliver reliable healthcare-grade conversational AI. Is Roche Stock a Buy, Hold, or Sell? Despite Roche’s AI focus, Wall Street is sidelined on the stock. Recently, BNP Paribas analyst Peter Verdult downgraded Roche stock to Hold from Buy with a price target of $50. The 4-star analyst lowered his estimates for Roche following the company’s recent pipeline updates, noting that major clinical updates are not coming until 2027. Overall, Wall Street has a Hold consensus rating on Roche stock based on three Holds and one Buy recommendation. The average RHHBY stock price target of $61 indicates 18.6% upside potential. RHHBY stock has risen 19.5% over the past year. Disclaimer & Disclosure...

Esteban Alejandro/iStock via Getty Images GeoPark Limited ( GPRK ) has long been one of the better managed South American companies. But the venture into Argentina has a bit more risk than I feel comfortable with. Argentina currently has the welcome mat out for foreign investment in this industry. This is one of the companies that came in. But Argentina politics can swing violently between left and right. Exxon Mobil ( XOM ) completed its exit f rom Argentina at the end of 2024. I take that as a risk warning about doing business in the country. Therefore, the latest runup in oil prices has put this company on my sell list. Stock Price The stock price has risen with the price of oil thanks to the Iranian situation. As shown below, the stock price is near its annual high point. GeoPark Limited Common Stock Price History And Key Valuation Measures (Seeking Alpha Website March 17, 2026) The long-term picture of the stock price has not been good for some time, as shown above. The actual general downtrend of the stock price is very clear from this chart. Admittedly the price earnings ratio is not all that high. But if future growth is going to come from Argentina, I would seek areas that are likely to be less risky long-term. The quant system currently has this listed as a hold. But I personally believe that may be a generous rating given the long-term stock price trend shown above. Management needs a reason for the company to show some long-term stock price progress. The acquisition of the Fronterra ( FECCF ) assets might have done the job for a year or two. But that idea is now "off the table". Other than the same factors that have largely influenced the company operations and future growth, there really is not much new here that would encourage me to hold this long-term. quantic69/iStock via Getty Images Produced water disposal is a demanding problem in the Permian Basin, and WaterBridge Infrastructure ( WBI ) is perfectly positioned to utilize that heavy demand. When you drill for oil, every barrel of oil produces several barrels of contaminated water. This water must be disposed off - the standard ecologically sensitive way is to inject it deep underground in pores. These pores are tiny subsurface spaces that can store fluids. These are in limited supply due to regulatory pressure and seismic risks. WaterBridge's business is to transport and dispose of this water. LandBridge ( LB ), its sister concern, was formed when disposal capacity reached its limit due to space constraint. Think of it this way - LandBridge was formed to buy and organize the real estate, WaterBridge was formed to dispose of the water. Both were sponsored by Five Point Infrastructure, a Houston-based private equity fund. WaterBridge is currently in a buildout phase, developing a network that should translate into multi-year EBITDA growth. Right now, though, WaterBridge has two key risks - execution risk, and free cash flow constraint. If you are investing in WaterBridge for its growth story, you will want to pair that investment with LandBridge for its real-estate oriented structural stability. LandBridge owns the land and pore space where the water gets disposed of, so its business is tied to the same drivers. However, it is high-margin and asset-light, so its capital requirement is not at the same scale as WaterBridge. WaterBridge brings in the growth, revenue, customers, while LandBridge provides stability. This is a more balanced way to play the tightening water infrastructure cycle in the Permian than investing in either of them alone. Business Overview WaterBridge Infrastructure operates a network of pipelines, recycling facilities and disposal wells that together handled some 2.4 million barrels per day (bpd) of produced water on average, which rose to 2...

Key Points Broadcom is seeing huge demand for its custom AI chips. Nvidia, Apple, and Alphabet are the current members, although Microsoft may be in there depending on the daily fluctuations of the market. I think two stocks that could join them over the next three years are Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing (NYSE: TSM) and Broadcom (NASDAQ: AVGO). These two have a ways to go, as TSMC is valued at $1.75 trillion while Broadcom is at $1.59 trillion. To get to $3 trillion, the two must rise 71% and 89%, respectively. Will AI create the world's first trillionaire? Our team just released a report on the one little-known company, called an "Indispensable Monopoly" providing the critical technology Nvidia and Intel both need. Continue » If either stock grows at that pace over the next three years, it will be considered a highly successful investment, making them both genius buys now. I think they are both primed to rise to the $3 trillion mark, and investors should position themselves accordingly. Both Broadcom and TSMC are huge beneficiaries of the AI build-out Broadcom and TSMC have each been successful investments over the past few years due to the massive amount of money being spent on AI infrastructure. That isn't slowing down, and 2026 looks to be another year of record-setting expenditures on data centers set up to process AI. TSMC is seeing strong growth from this trend due to its positioning as a neutral party. TSMC is the world's top logic chip producer and is a leader in the production and technological side. It doesn't matter which company's products are placed in a data center; chances are, there are a ton of chips from TSMC in them. Because it doesn't have any skin in the game in terms of which company is the current leader in AI computing hardware, it's just ro...
