SCM Jeans/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Earlier in April, I maintained my buy rating on Bombardier shares ( BDRAF , BDRBF ), driven by the absence of major downward revisions on expectations for Bombardier on earnings and revenues and the company’s increasing services footprint and margin improvement on airplane production. This positions the company to generate substantial free cash flow to deleverage the business, driving substantial interest savings to further accelerate the deleveraging path. Bombardier provided its first quarter results, and while margins contracted, its free cash flow guidance upgrade looked impressive. In this report, I discuss the Q1 2026 earnings and the upgraded guidance, and I update my price target for Bombardier. Bombardier Sales and Margins Expand In 2025 On Successful Turnaround Revenues for Bombardier (Bombardier (Earnings Presentation)) Bombardier’s first-quarter revenues increased 5% year-over-year to nearly $1.6 billion, driven by continued strength in Services. Services revenues rose 25% to $617 million, increasing their share of revenues to 39% from 33% a year ago. The growth reflects continued installed base expansion, higher flying hours, and added service center capacity. Additionally, Global flying hours were up 8%, and Challenger flying hours increased 6% year-over-year. Manufacturing and other revenues declined to $982 million from $1.03 billion, despite deliveries increasing slightly to 24 aircraft from 23 aircraft. The pressure was driven by a mix with fewer large-cabin jet deliveries and more medium jets. Revenues were also impacted by a supplier issue delaying several aircraft deliveries. That issue has since been resolved, which supports a catch-up in deliveries in the balance of the year. Adjusted EBITDA was broadly stable at $246 million, while margins declined 90 basis points to 15.4%. The margin pressure reflected delivery timing, aircraft mix, and higher SG&A and R&D spending to support future Services and de...

He also highlighted capital deployment and portfolio execution, saying the company "deployed $171.9 million during the quarter" and "addressed nearly half of our 2026 lease maturities with a recapture rate of 119%." Moragne detailed new build-to-suit activity, including "a new state-of-the-art sub-same-day distribution center located in Sarasota, Florida for Amazon" and "a retail development for Academy Sports in Magnolia, Texas," and added that after quarter-end Broadstone "closed on the land and started funding a new presort battery recycling facility for Tesla" near Austin. President Ryan Albano framed strategy around structured transactions, stating, "Our focus is on transactions where thoughtful structuring can materially enhance outcomes, driving higher yields, embedding growth and protecting downside through multiple exit pathways." On the development funnel, he said Broadstone is "actively evaluating approximately $1.3 billion of build-to-suit opportunities" and aims to keep an active committed pipeline "in the $350 million to $500 million range." CFO Kevin Fennell said, "During the quarter, we generated adjusted funds from operations of $76.9 million or $0.38 per share," and added, "With respect to the balance sheet, we ended the quarter with pro forma leverage of 5.8x, unchanged quarter-over-quarter." Outlook Fennell said, "Lastly, we are maintaining our 2026 per share guidance range of $1.53 to $1.57 with no changes to our key assumptions." He also noted, "Despite no bad debt in the first quarter, we are also maintaining our full year assumption of 75 basis points of lost rent within our 2026 guidance and plan to revisit this assumption throughout the year." Compared with the prior quarter, management’s guidance posture remaine...
