Leicester Cathedral Part of the Let’s Dance International Frontiers festival, Compagnie Kaméléonite’s piece about the climate crisis features two transfixing performers In the once clear waters of the Caribbean, floating mats of toxic brown seaweed called sargassum blanket the water for months on end, exacerbated by the climate crisis and pollution. The result is a threat to biodiversity and livelihoods, and when it washes ashore, it emits gases harmful to human health, causing headaches, nausea and breathing problems. This pressing, true story is the basis for choreographer Marlène Myrtil’s Océan Brun, informed by interviews with people living in Guadeloupe and Martinique, where Myrtil’s Compagnie Kaméléonite is based. This is the first time the piece has been seen outside Martinique, a move typical of the Let’s Dance International Frontiers festival in Leicester, which gives a platform to global artists every year, all from the African and African-Caribbean diaspora. Consumer Discretionary Click to enlarge First Financial Bancorp. ( FFBC ) is a high-performing bank, operating in the Midwest. The company maintains a return on tangible common equity in the high-teens, and we were able to buy the stock at an attractive valuation. Additionally, we see opportunities across both FFBC's traditional banking business and their fee income businesses. Within the banking segment, FFBC's main opportunity is grounded in its role as a community-oriented financial institution that helps support local economic development and provide access to credit across its local footprint. As a mid-sized regional bank with a strong deposit franchise, FFBC plays a critical role in leveraging local deposits to support economic growth across their geographic footprint. FFBC leans on a relationship-driven model with the bank's long-standing community presence helping create durable customer relationships that translate into stable, low-cost core deposits which supports resiliency through credit cycles. After following the company for many years, we purchased shares of Guardant Health, Inc. ( GH ), as recent due diligence highlighted a stable competitive environment and underscored a number of positive catalysts for the company over the next several years. For copper miners Southern Copper Corp. and Vale SA , surging prices of byproducts like gold and silver are creating an unusual situation: The cost of producing the red metal has turned negative. Southern Copper reported a cash cost, net of revenue earned by selling byproducts, of minus 11 cents a pound in the January-to-March period, versus 77 cents a year earlier. That means the company is making money just by extracting copper ore from mines, even before accounting for the selling price of the metal. Vale’s cost of producing copper also turned negative on an all-in basis. Other major producers continued to report positive costs. The rare result reflects a surge in prices for metals such as gold, silver, molybdenum and zinc that are found alongside copper in large ore deposits. Silver has more than doubled over the past year, while gold is up roughly 40%. Southern Copper and Vale benefit more than most peers because their deposits tend to be comprised of many different metals, generating significant byproduct revenue. The byproduct windfall means producers get the full benefit of near record-high copper prices as the industry struggles to keep pace with growing demand from global electrification, including the rapid development of data centers and artificial intelligence. “A negative cash cost means that our byproduct revenues of $1.2 billion more than cover our production cost for copper,” Southern Chief Financial Officer Raul Jacob told analysts Thursday. Beyond byproducts, Southern’s underlying costs are also structurally low due to large-scale, integrated operations. Though the Iran war has disrupted supplies of sulfuric acid — used to separate metals from ore — Southern and Vale are net sellers of the leaching agent, helping to shield their base-metals units from inflation.

J Studios/DigitalVision via Getty Images Sure enough, SoFi Technologies, Inc. ( SOFI ) had a volatile year. The stock is down 39% year to date but still up on a yearly basis by 29%. Just a few days ago, the company posted its quarterly earnings. In my opinion, business growth remains intact. The market reacted to it with a 15% initial sell-off, and, quite frankly, I find it unjustified. Sure, it slightly rebounded the day after, but the price reaction tells me the market doesn't really get it. I understand the disappointment behind flat guidance, but that doesn't change the long-term view. SoFi reached the 14.7 million members threshold. And that's not a walk in the park. I wouldn't be surprised if an everyday finance app becomes a significant player in the niche in years to come, as durable growth makes me feel bullish around the company. So, I rate SoFi as a Strong Buy. Here's why. Stellar Earnings History Is Comforting That's right. Its stellar performance is reassuring. Personally, it raises confidence in management. You know that the fintech will deliver quarter over quarter, and such consistency is something that deserves a premium valuation in my opinion. SOFI: Earnings History (Seeking Alpha) So far it's on the 10th double-beat streak. What I love about the company is its stability. And because of this, seeing a double-digit decline in the stock price after the earnings makes me raise my eyebrows. Absolutely, it was a surprising reaction. Of course, one could argue that the reaffirmed guidance wasn't exciting, or the market could've anticipated at least a tiny bump. Personally, I actually find it reassuring. To me it tells that SoFi anticipates a strong FY2026. And I don't see issues with that. Now, SoFi is a high-growth fintech. It delivers double-digit top- and bottom-line growth. And if that wasn't enough, the number of members surged 35% over the past 12 months. It added more than 1 million new users over the same period. To me it tells that SoFi is rapi...
