patty_c/iStock Unreleased via Getty Images Wayfair ( W ) continues to deliver net revenue growth in the mid-to-high single digits, which is a bit better than its guidance for mid-single-digit growth, although in-line with my prior expectations. Wayfair has consistently been outperforming the overall category by close to 10% in terms of growth. However, a weakening macro environment may lead to slightly slower growth for Wayfair and/or slightly lower contribution margins in order to maintain its growth. As a result, I have lowered my estimate of its 2026 adjusted EBITDA by $50 million to $100 million and now expect it to finish with around $850 million to $900 million. This also leads to a reduction in my estimated value for Wayfair from $70 per share to $64 per share. That being said, Wayfair's stock is down close to 40% compared to when I looked at it at the beginning of the year . Thus I believe it is roughly fairly priced now and have moved to a neutral outlook on it. Continued Sales Growth Wayfair has continued to deliver relatively strong sales growth. It delivered +6.9% net revenue growth in Q4 2025 , towards the high end of its guidance for mid-single-digit growth. Excluding the impact from its exit from the German market, Wayfair's net revenues would have been up +7.8% year-over-year. Wayfair then followed this up with +7.4% net revenue growth in Q1 2026, which can be considered around the high end (or slightly above the high end) of its guidance for mid-single-digit growth in that quarter as well. Wayfair's recent sales performance has been in line with my expectations, as I have been modeling mid-to-high single-digit revenue growth for it (slightly higher than Wayfair's guidance). Wayfair indicates that its sales growth has been significantly outpacing the overall category, which was down low-single digits in Q1 2026 and low-to-mid single digits in 2025. Solid Cost Performance Wayfair's Q4 2025 costs and gross margins were in-line with its guidance. The re...

The US sanctions target people operating in broad sections of Cuban economy, including energy, defence and mining Cuba’s government has said new sanctions imposed on the island by Donald Trump amounted to “collective punishment”, as an enormous 1 May procession outside the American embassy in Havana vowed to “defend the homeland”. In an executive order on Friday, the US president said he would impose sanctions on people involved in broad sections of the Cuban economy, as he seeks to put more pressure on Havana after ousting Venezuela’s leader, Nicolás Maduro, earlier this year. With his broad smile, Tatsumi Hokuto helps an elderly woman in a Japanese care home almost effortlessly to her feet and makes sure she is steady. At first glance, Hokuto cuts an unlikely figure for a carer role: a powerfully built 27-year-old in tight leggings and a black singlet, with the physique of a dedicated bodybuilder. But for Nagoya-based Visionary, a company that operates nursing and care...

At first glance, Hokuto cuts an unlikely figure for a carer role: a powerfully built 27-year-old in tight leggings and a black singlet, with the physique of a dedicated bodybuilder. But for Nagoya-based Visionary, a company that operates nursing and care facilities across Japan, that contrast is precisely the point. Visionary’s “macho carers” like...
“You could do with some international exposure. China, maybe,” a law firm partner said as we stood over the water cooler. His offhand comment was so blasé. I wasn’t sure what unsettled me more – the comment or my reaction to it. Was it xenophobia or the inertia of assumption? He was perfectly pleasant, encouraging even, but beneath the civility was an implication I couldn’t ignore. I had never set...
