The shares remain depressed on a valuation basis since peaking in late January. That's when the NAVs began to move lower. We will go through some NAV analysis and then analyze valuations. Leverage Levels Remain Middle Range The comparisons to a year ago are funky thanks to abnormally low use of leverage at this time last year (going into Liberation Day). They played that event perfectly. PIMCO Corp & Inc Strat ( PCN ) had nearly zero leverage, compared with a long-term average of about 29%. Prior to 2022, they rarely had less than 35% leverage on the fund. For most of 2024 and early 2025, leverage levels on all PIMCO funds were lower, some of the lowest levels ever for these funds. PCN was at 0.8% leverage in April 2025, and today it is at 21.9%. That's still below average but clearly much higher than it was a year ago, hence the large blue bar below. AlphaGen Capital Removing the one-year and six-month change bars, we see a more normalized chart. The bars clearly indicate an increase of leverage over the last several months. These numbers are through March 31, 2026, so they would include the selloff in risk assets from the Iran War. Alpha Gen Capital Surprisingly, the one-month change in the chart doesn't show much buying by the portfolio managers during the selloff in March. Most of the adding was done in February, prior to the declines in stocks and bonds. While PIMCO navigated the Liberation Day correction well, it did not (so far) navigate the Iran War as flawlessly. The absolute leverage levels of the funds, for the most part, remain near the lower end of their long-term (10 years of data) averages. That said, they're moving higher. The declines in the NAVs account for most of the bump in leverage ratio levels, even if total dollar borrowing remained consisten...
