(RTTNews) - RWE Aktiengesellschaft (RWEOY, RWE.DE), a German energy company, on Tuesday said Munich Airport signed a 10-year power purchase agreement to procure offshore wind power from RWE's Nordseecluster A wind farm in the North Sea. The wind farm is expected to begin operations in early 2027. Under the agreement, the airport will receive 40 gigawatt hours of electricity per year, equivalent to about 40 million kilowatt hours. The electricity will be supplied from RWE's Nordseecluster A offshore wind farm, which has a total capacity of 660 megawatts and is currently under construction in the North Sea, about 50 kilometers north of the island of Juist. The agreement is expected to help Munich Airport reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 13,000 tonnes annually. RWE is currently trading 2.48% higher at EUR 54.62 on the XETRA. If you've been struggling to cover your costs, a mortgage refinance could free up room in your budget for other expenses. Of course, for refinancing to make sense, you need to make sure of a couple of things. First, you need to make sure that the mortgage rate you can get today is considerably lower than your current one (ideally, at least one full percentage point lower or more). Second, you need to make sure you plan to stay in your home long enough to come out ahead financially in a refinance. That's because you'll be charged closing costs to put that new loan in place. The best thing to do is see how much you'll pay in closing costs, figure out your potential monthly savings, and then see what your breakeven point looks like. Duke Energy ( DUK ) announced the pricing of $1.3 billion in convertible senior notes due in 2029 through a private placement. This amount is higher than the previously stated $1 billion. The initial purchasers have the option to buy an additional $200 million of these notes within 13 days after their issuance. The sale is expected to close on March 12, 2026, pending standard closing conditions. Duke Energy anticipates that the net proceeds from the notes will be around $1.29 billion, or $1.48 billion if the purchase option is fully exercised. These funds will be used mainly to repay $1.725 billion of existing convertible notes due in 2026 and for general corporate purposes. The new notes will be senior unsecured obligations of Duke Energy with a maturity date of March 15, 2029, unless they are converted or repurchased earlier. They will bear an interest rate of 3.000% per year, with payments made twice a year starting on September 15, 2026. The convertible notes can be converted by holders only under certain conditions before December 15, 2028. The initial conversion rate is set at 6.2277 shares of common stock for each $1,000 of notes, which means an initial conversion price of about $160.57 per share. Meta Platforms is asking advertisers to cover the costs of digital services taxes, levies imposed by countries on local sales made by technology firms. The company emailed advertisers to inform them of new “location fees.” These will apply to digital ads delivered in particular countries, even if the advertiser isn’t based there. Meta, which owns social networks Facebook and Instagram and messaging service WhatsApp, said the extra charges will kick in on July 1. The company said in its email it had absorbed the fees up till now. Alphabet Inc. ’s Google and Amazon.com Inc. both charge similar fees. Meta declined to comment. Businesses buying ads on Meta’s platforms will be charged an additional amount, corresponding to the digital tax rate in the country where they are showing the ad. Both image-based and video ads will be affected, according to the email, which was seen by Bloomberg. The policy is set to apply to Austria , France , Italy , Spain , Turkey and the UK. France, Italy and Spain’s digital service tax rate is 3%, while Austria and Turkey charge 5% and the UK 2%.
