BeritK/iStock via Getty Images Inflation will take center stage on Wall Street this week as investors await the latest Consumer Price Index report due Wednesday morning. The data is expected to provide a fresh look at price pressures across the U.S. economy and could influence expectations for future monetary policy. The most recent CPI reading showed annual inflation running at 2.4%, and consensus forecasts suggest the upcoming report will likely show the rate holding steady at that level. However, prediction markets indicate a wider range of expectations among participants. According to Polymarket, traders are assigning varying probabilities to different outcomes for March’s year-over-year inflation figure, highlighting uncertainty around the trajectory of consumer prices. The divergence between traditional forecasts and market-based predictions underscores the heightened attention investors are placing on the report as they assess the outlook for inflation and interest rates. When asked what will March’s annual inflation figures will look like, Polymarket participants expressed the following predictions: ≤2.0% — 2% chance. 2.1% — 1% chance. 2.2% — 1% chance. 2.3% — 1% chance. 2.4% — 1% chance. 2.5% — 1% chance. 2.6% — 5% chance. 2.7% — 5% chance. ≥2.8% — 72% chance. My top 10 things to watch Friday, March 10 1. Oil prices are sliding this morning on the heels of wild session yesterday that briefly sent crude to four-year highs before coming way off the boil. President Donald Trump saying the with Iran may be over soon is being taken in stride. We're back below $90 a barrel on U.S. benchmark WTI, but prices are still up over 50% for the year. Stock futures are little changed this morning. 2. Is the war "very complete, pretty much," as Trump told CBS News yesterday? Or are we looking at a longer conflict if we can't get ships through the Strait of Hormuz? The speaker of Iran's parliament said Iran isn't looking for a cease-fire, and state media reported Iran won't let oil out of the Strait if American and Israeli attacks continue. U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said this morning that today will be "our most intense" day of strikes. 3. Intuit was upgraded to buy from hold at Rothschild & Co Redburn. The TurboTax and QuickBooks owner has transcended the fears of possible software destruction from Anthropic. The stock has had a massive move of its late February low, up over 30%. Granted, it's still down 28.5% for the year. 4. Another software upgrade, this time in cyber: Morgan Stanley took Club name CrowdStrike to buy from hold. This stock also has had a big bounce after facing heat from Anthropic the Destroyer, up over 20% from last month's low. As CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz says, AI is a tailwind for cyber. 5. TD Cowen downgraded Novo Nordisk to hold from buy. Novo's Wegovy pill is giving its obesity business a much-needed boost right now, but analysts said its GLP-1 pipeline is not as compelling as it needs to be. Club name Eli Lilly is the leader in obesity, with exciting next-generation assets and its own obesity pill likely launching soon. 6. Qualcomm's growth prospects are lukewarm and its efforts to diversify into areas like automotive and data center may be insufficient to offsets headwinds in its core mobile busine...

is a senior reporter who’s been covering and reviewing the latest gadgets and tech since 2006, but has loved all things electronic since he was a kid. Posts from this author will be added to your daily email digest and your homepage feed. The Roomba Mini was originally developed for smaller Japanese homes, but iRobot is expanding its availability to the United Kingdom where it’s now available for £379, and the rest of Europe for €399. Color options include back, pink, white, and mint. The company also plans to make the Roomba Mini available to US customers through its TikTok Shop in the summer, but pricing and a specific launch date haven’t been announced yet. The Roomba Mini is available in mint, white, pink, and black color options. Image: iRobot Despite its smaller size, the Roomba Mini still features a LiDAR-based navigation system to avoid obstacles like people, furniture, and rugs, depending what mode it’s in. It can be used as a robot vacuum, sucking up dust and dirt on hard floors and carpets using a spinning brush on the underside. Or you can switch to mopping mode by attaching a disposable wet pad that instead traps dirt and absorbs wet spills. The robot is compatible with iRobot’s Roomba Home app that can be used to schedule cleaning routines, but you can also activate it by voice using separate Alexa, Siri, and Google Assistant-enabled smart devices. If you want to skip online connectivity altogether or don’t have access to Wi-Fi, the Roomba Mini can be manually started with a button press. The Roomba Mini comes with a dock matching its smaller footprint that both charges the robovac and empties its dirt bin. The dock does rely on bags which you’ll have to remember to keep stocked, but with enough capacity for up to three months of dust and debris. Although it’s the first small robovac from iRobot, other companies already offer autonomous cleaners designed for smaller spaces. Dyson’s first robovac, the 360 Eye, was much smaller than the other options alr...

NuScale Power (SMR +4.33%) and its shareholders just got some very good news. However, investors need to take the news with a grain of salt. Here's what you need to know about Europe's first nuclear power plant set to use NuScale Power's small modular reactors (SMRs). What does NuScale Power do? To date, NuScale Power's revenues have been tied to services it is providing to Fluor (FLR +1.72%). Fluor is a construction company working with RoPower, a Romanian power company, on a nuclear power plant. NuScale is acting as a consultant, basically helping RoPower prove that the plant it wants to build is a good idea. NuScale's real business, however, is building small modular nuclear reactors. It has approved plans for an SMR, but it hasn't actually built and sold one for commercial use. RoPower's plan is to link six of NuScale's SMRs to create one large nuclear power plant. The good news is that RoPower has decided to move forward with its power plant. That means that NuScale could finally have its first customer. NuScale Power still hasn't sold any SMRs The fly in the ointment, and one that has been known from the start, is that RoPower's investment decision is just the first step. RoPower now has to find the money to build the power plant it envisions. If it can't do that, then NuScale's good news will be a bust. It could take six months or more to line up financing. Moreover, the company will likely remain unprofitable for much longer, given the investment that will likely be needed to start the manufacturing process. At the end...

Growth-oriented investors have been targeting energy stocks in anticipation of the demand. One polarizing stock to own in recent years has been Plug Power (PLUG +2.35%). The hydrogen fuel cell company can help offer solutions to rising energy needs. However, with poor financial results in the past, investors have been worried about its long-term viability. It has cratered a whopping 95% in just five years. But with the company recently reporting some impressive quarterly results, has Plug Power shown that it's on the right track, and that it's safe to buy the energy stock? Plug Power delivers solid numbers in Q4 On March 2, Plug Power reported its quarterly results for the last three months of 2025. The company's sales came in at $225.2 million, which was better than analyst expectations of $217 million. And on the bottom line, its adjusted per-share loss was $0.06 was not as bad as the $0.10 loss that Wall Street was anticipating. It was a strong performance for the company, which gave shares of Plug Power a boost, as they went from $1.81 before earnings to as high as $2.50 a couple of days later. While the energy stock has given back some gains since then, it is on a much more positive trajectory nonetheless. 89 Arrested In Florida Human Trafficking Operation, Sheriff's Office Says Authored by Jack Phillips via The Epoch Times (emphasis ours), A sheriff’s office in Florida announced this week that an undercover operation led to 89 human and sex trafficking-related arrests, resulting in more than 1,200 separate felony charges. A Hillsborough County Sheriff vehicle as seen in a file photo. Google Maps via The Epoch Times The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, which includes the Tampa metropolitan area, said tha t the operation was carried out over several weeks and targeted individuals “seeking to sexually exploit children and purchase sex.” The suspects arrested allegedly believed they were communicating with underage victims and showed up at agreed upon locations but were instead met by undercover sheriff’s detectives , according to a news release issued by the department. They also located a missing 17-year-old girl who was being exploited, the news release said, adding that she was rescued, and her trafficker, identified by officials as 23-year-old Armani Hopkins, was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. It’s not clear if Hopkins has legal representation. Authorities gave more details about other suspects who were arrested by sheriff’s officials. Stephen Fabic, 41, a math teacher at Hillsborough High School, was arrested after he allegedly “offered to pick up a teenager and bring them to his home to engage in sexual activity during conversations with someone he believed to be a minor,” the office stated. Fabic was arrested and made a court appearance last month. An attorney speaking on his behalf, Daniel Fischetti, was quoted by local media outlet Fox 13 as saying that “it’s unknown what exactly happened the day of, or what the meeting was going to be, so I ask the court to take that into consideration when setting bond.” The Epoch Times has contacted his attorney for comment. John Altieri, 69, was also arrested in the operation after he allegedly “...
