SAN FRANCISCO & FORT WORTH, Texas, March 10, 2026--(BUSINESS WIRE)--TPG, a leading global alternative asset management firm, today announced that TPG Rise Climate, the firm’s dedicated climate investing platform, has completed the sale of its stake in Intersect, which was acquired by Google for $4.75 billion, plus the assumption of debt, in a transaction announced on December 22, 2025. Google’s acquisition of Intersect follows from a strategic partnership launched with Intersect and TPG in December 2024. With new investment from Google and additional capital from TPG, the partnership leveraged Intersect’s capabilities to co‑locate data‑center load with new clean generation and storage, creating an innovative and scalable model for meeting growing compute demand. Following a year of successful partnership, Google announced its agreement to acquire all of Intersect’s digital power assets. As part of the transaction, existing Intersect investors, including TPG, Google, Climate Adaptive Infrastructure (CAI), and Greenbelt Capital Partners, spun off Intersect’s grid-tied power business to form a new independent company, IPX Power ("IPX"), with majority backing from TPG Rise Climate. DNY59/iStock via Getty Images Investment Thesis When analyzing ETFs that use option strategies to generate returns and track the Nasdaq-100, I previously predicted potential growth in the technology market in 2026 because of the tech rally around AI and further easing of the Fed's monetary policy. That led me to bet on funds that have a higher beta to index volatility and are able to follow market growth more quickly. For this reason, the Goldman Sachs Nasdaq-100 Premium Income ETF ( GPIQ ) was my preferred choice over the JPMorgan Nasdaq Equity Premium Income ETF ( JEPQ ), despite the fact that both are identical funds that track the Nasdaq-100 index and offer high dividend yields of around 10%. Nevertheless, recent developments related to rising inflation risks, driven by labor market data and record oil prices (as a result of the cessation of oil and gas production in several Middle Eastern countries), compel me to take a more cautious view of the growth prospects for the technology market. Right now, though, the risks are way higher, and I think the market could drop 10-20% in the second half of 2026 if things in Iran don't start to chill out. If this happens, the rise in energy prices will keep quotations at extremely high levels, triggering a deeper inflation problem in the world and the US. Rather than continuing the cycle of Fed interest rate cuts, the opposite policy can be expected, including a return to hawkish rhetoric, accompanied by a possible tightening of monetary policy, which may include interest rate hikes. But if things do chill out, those risks will go down, and the Nasdaq-100 will probably keep growing or stay in a wide range. This would require choosing instruments that help minimize risks but retain the potential for yield growth in a bullish and/or sideways market, which is one reason why I do not consider buffer ETFs for my defensive strategy, apart from the fact that they do not pay dividends as the income generated from their call writing...

Romina Amato | Reuters Amazon plans to address a string of recent outages, including some that were tied to AI-assisted coding errors, at a retail technology meeting on Tuesday, CNBC has confirmed. Dave Treadwell, a top executive overseeing the technical foundations of Amazon's website, told employees that the company's "This Week in Stores Tech," or TWiST, meeting would be a "deep dive" on "some of the issues that got us here." The meeting is scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m. ET. "Folks - as you likely know, the availability of the site and related infrastructure has not been good recently," Treadwell, senior vice president of eCommerce Foundation, wrote in a note to employees viewed by CNBC. He added that he was shifting the focus of the meeting "given the incidence of Sev 1s," referring to high severity incidents that cause outages or degraded performance of critical systems. Amazon experienced four such incidents in a week, Treadwell said and noted the deep dive is necessary to "regain our strong availability posture." The Financial Times was first to report on the memos. An Amazon spokesperson said TWiST is a regular weekly meeting where retail tech leaders review the performance of store operations.
