jetcityimage/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Introduction Some of you may be familiar with Casey's General Stores ( CASY ) depending on what part of the country you live in. For me, I've never stepped foot in a Casey's, but their stock popped up on my radar roughly 2 years ago. I instantly became bullish assigning them a buy rating . Since, shares have outperformed the S&P ( SP500 ) significantly in the past two years. And while Casey's is one of my favorite dividend growth stocks, I can't help but wonder if we're seeing another case of overvaluation, like with Costco ( COST ) more recently. Both are quality stocks that deserve a premium, but their shares are too richly valued, giving investors a higher chance to see underperformance. Currently, CASY has a forward P/E over 38x. While it has performed well, up 74% in the past year, shares pulled back after the company missed on their top line estimates and financials declined from the previous quarter. In this article, I discuss their latest earnings, fundamentals, and why Casey's could underperform going forward. Previous Thesis I last covered Casey's this past December in an article titled: Valuation Has Outrun Its Fundamentals - I Would Wait For A Pullback. Despite my cautious tone, Casey's shares have continued to rally, up over 20%, while the market has lagged, up less than 1%. Seeking Alpha CASY's performance has been driven by their robust fundamentals. In their Q2, the retailer posted a double beat. EPS amounted to $5.33, beating by an impressive $0.33, while revenue beat by $10 million. This amounted to $4.51 billion. Both grew double-digits from the prior year's quarter. Gross margins and EBITDA also increased double-digits, showing CASY's fundamental strength in a challenging economic backdrop. Still, I considered the downside risks too great due to the stock's impressive run. And cautioned investors to wait for a pullback. According to FastGraphs, CASY's also presented massive downside risks with a 2028...

Washington, D.C., March 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Existing-home sales increased by 1.7% month-over-month in February, according to the National Association of REALTORS® Existing-Home Sales report. The report provides the real estate ecosystem—including agents, homebuyers and sellers—with data on the level of home sales, price, and inventory. Month-over-month sales rose in the Midwest, South and West, and fell in the Northeast. Year-over-year sales rose in the South and fell in the Northeast, Midwest and West. Affordability improved for the eighth consecutive month, according to NAR’s Housing Affordability Index—increasing to 117.6 in February from 117.1 in January and 103.1 a year ago. This marks the highest level since March 2022. “Housing affordability is improving, and consumers are responding,” said NAR Chief Economist Dr. Lawrence Yun. “Still, there is a long way to go to return to pre-pandemic levels of transaction activity. There are more than 6 million more jobs than in 2019, yet home sales per year are down by one million.” “Despite the modest gain in home sales, actual housing demand remains muted relative to wage growth and job gains,” Yun continued. “Wage growth is now outpacing home price growth by almost four percentage points. Mortgage rates are also measurably lower compared to a year ago.” “Inventory is growing, but sluggishly,” he added. “If demand picks up notably in the coming months and outpaces supply growth, home prices will inevitably rise. That is why increasing supply is so important to help limit home price growth, improve housing affordability, and boost transactions.” National Snapshot Total Existing-Home Sales for February 1.7% increase in existing-home sales 1 month-over-month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.09 million. month-over-month to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 4.09 million. 1.4% decrease in sales year-over-year. Alphabet Inc. ’s Google is introducing artificial intelligence agents across the Pentagon’s three million-strong workforce to automate routine jobs, according to a senior defense official. Google’s Gemini AI agents, which can undertake work independently on behalf of a user who sets them tasks, will initially operate on unclassified networks, said Emil Michael , the under secretary of defense for research and engineering. “We’re starting with unclassified because that’s where most of the users are, and then we’ll get to classified and top secret,” Michael said in an interview, adding that talks with Google over using the agents on the classified cloud are underway. “I have high confidence they’re going to be a great partner on all networks.” The new feature will allow civilian and military personnel at the Defense Department to build AI agents using natural language, Google Vice President Jim Kelly said in a blog post Tuesday. A Google Cloud spokesperson didn’t respond to a request for comment about whether it is negotiating to put AI agents on the classified cloud. The military’s expanding use of AI is fueling controversy at many of the cutting-edge American companies developing the technology. In the Iran war, the US has used AI to help identify targets and speed processes, allowing for the unprecedented intensity of the bombing campaign. The Pentagon has been bringing online more products from the likes of OpenAI and Google as part of a push to speed AI adoption in the military. That effort triggered its escalating feud with Anthropic PBC , which sought guardrails on using its technology for domestic surveillance and in fully autonomous weapons. In response, the Defense Department labeled the company a supply-chain risk last week. Anthropic is suing the government over the designation, which is typically reserved for companies from countries the US views as adversaries. Michael, who led negotiations with Anthropic, said the issue wouldn’t be resolved through the ...

Sales of previously owned US homes unexpectedly rose in February and the prior month was revised up, helped by a decline in mortgage rates and modest growth in asking prices. Contract closings increased 1.7% to a 4.09 million annualized rate, according to National Association of Realtors data released Tuesday. The pace exceeded nearly all estimates in a Bloomberg survey of economists. One emerging bright spot for the housing market is improving affordability, with mortgage rates receding recently along with price growth. The NAR’s monthly housing affordability gauge , which reflects changes in home prices, median income and borrowing costs, stands at the most-favorable reading since 2022. “Housing affordability is improving, and consumers are responding,” NAR Chief Economist Lawrence Yun said in a statement. “Still, there is a long way to go to return to pre-pandemic levels of transaction activity.” The NAR report showed the median selling price rose 0.3% from a year earlier — one of the smallest advances since the pandemic housing frenzy — to $398,000 last month. The inventory of previously owned homes increased 4.9% from a year ago to 1.29 million — the most for any February since 2020. US Regions Contract signings rose in three of four US regions, led by a more than 8% jump in the West to a one-year high. Sales climbed 1.6% in the South and edged up in the Midwest, but fell in the Northeast to the lowest since 2024. First-time buyers represented 34% of purchasers in February, up from 31% in the prior month and a year ago. Yun said on a call with reporters that the pickup suggests first-time buyers are taking advantage of improving affordability. Market analysts see home sales climbing this year, with estimates ranging from 1.7% to 14%, according to a survey by Bloomberg late last year. Mortgage rates fell at the end of last month to 6.09%, the lowest since 2022. President Donald Trump asked Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to purchase $200 billion in mortgage-backed se...

Leaders in the enterprise HCM market include ADP Lyric HCM, Dayforce, Infor, Oracle, and UKG Pro. MIAMI, March 10, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Enterprise HCM technology in 2026 is increasingly evaluated on how effectively it reduces administrative burden while enabling strategic workforce planning. Large organizations manage complex global workforces and large volumes of employee data. Without strong integration and governance, this data creates friction rather than insight. As a result, many enterprises are consolidating vendors and prioritizing platforms that unify core HR, talent, payroll, and workforce analytics. This shift reduces integration costs and creates a single source of truth for workforce decisions. ROI driven technology insight (PRNewsfoto/Nucleus Research) Data strategy has become a central differentiator. Vendors are expanding benchmark datasets and analytics models that combine industry data with customer data to generate more contextual insights. Organizations are using these capabilities to improve workforce planning, compensation benchmarking, and talent mobility strategies. When properly governed, these insights help HR teams connect people decisions to broader financial and operational outcomes. AI is also evolving toward more operational roles inside HR workflows. Platforms now offer specialized agents that support areas such as payroll processing, recruiting coordination, and succession planning. These agents can assist with analysis or execute multi step workflows under defined controls. The next phase of development is the ability for organizations to configure and extend these agents through low code tools and integration frameworks. "Enterprise HCM buyers are focused on turning workforce data into operational leverage," said Evelyn McMullen, Senior Analyst at Nucleus Research. "The platforms that deliver value are those that reduce manual effort while giving leaders clearer insight into workforce performance and planning." Vendor partnership a...

While Best Buy sells nice-to-have items, Walmart's strategy of selling need-to-have items offers more upside now. 10 stocks we like better than Walmart › Last week, Best Buy (NYSE: BBY) posted mixed results for its fiscal 2026 fourth quarter, missing analysts' consensus revenue expectations but beating earnings expectations. Looking ahead to its fiscal 2027, CFO Matt Bilunas said the retailer was "excited about the momentum in our business," but also warned it will "continue to navigate a mixed macro environment." Despite the quarter's mixed results and the macroeconomic challenges the company may face, investors still liked what they saw enough to boost the stock price last week after the report was published. Will AI create the world's first trillionaire? Our team just released a report on the one little-known company, called an "Indispensable Monopoly" providing the critical technology Nvidia and Intel both need. Offering the essentials When I look at Best Buy, I see a business centered around selling nice-to-have electronics. When I look at Walmart (NASDAQ: WMT), I see a business not only centered on selling need-to-have items, but also one that is increasing its ability to fulfill a wide range of needs in one order. For example, customers can order prescriptions from the Walmart pharmacy, order groceries, and have both delivered together. During times of economic uncertainty, people may delay buying a new computer or upgrading their phone, but they won't stop buying groceries or getting their prescriptions. While Walmart gets people in the door by offering them low prices on general merchandise and groceries, it has also be...

In times of market uncertainty, investors typically flock to stable investments that offer minimal risk. Whether it's gold, silver, or dividend stocks, these are considered safe-haven investments. While they may not deliver huge gains, the stability they offer makes them compelling options. For years, crypto investors have been touting Bitcoin (BTC +1.20%) as a type of "digital gold" that can be a safe investment, just like gold. Recently, with the war in Iran unfolding, the leading cryptocurrency began rallying. It was a sharp turn for the digital currency, after it had looked like it might be in a prolonged free fall. Does this turnaround indicate that Bitcoin may indeed be a safe-haven investment after all, and is it an asset you can turn to amid market uncertainty? Bitcoin still hasn't proven it can be relied on for stability When the U.S. attacked Iran on Feb. 28, the price of Bitcoin was around $67,000. And within a week, the cryptocurrency would climb to $74,000. It appeared that investors were turning to crypto amid the global tensions. However, in the following days, it would again dip back below $70,000. Bitcoin's volatility remains the biggest impediment to this being a safe-haven asset to rely on. For instance, in 2022, when the S&P 500 crashed by 19% and stocks were in a tailspin due to inflation and economic uncertainty, Bitcoin's value plummeted a staggering 65%. Not only was it not a safe investment at the time, but it also added risk and volatility for investors. Quantum computing may seem like a far-off technology, but it's becoming more real by the day. This could be the next great tech investment race, which could lead to massive returns for investors who are early to the party. One of the top stocks to buy in this sector is IonQ (IONQ +1.73%), and it just posted an incredible quarter. But is it worth buying now? Or should investors be patient? IonQ is seeing big growth Commercially viable quantum computing isn't available today. The reality is that today's quantum computers still make too many mistakes to make them applicable in many areas. However, they are rapidly improving, and there are several industries looking to do advanced research in quantum so they can maximize the technology once it's available. These early-model quantum computers and research contracts are what give IonQ the funds to continue running the company and push the limits of what's possible with quantum computing. In Q4, its revenue rose 429% year over year to nearly $62 million. During the quarter, it announced the sale of a 100-qubit system as well as an expanded partnership that will span four more years. It also announced an acquisition of SkyWater Technology, which bolsters its manufacturing capabilities for when it's time to mass-produce quantum computing equipment. IonQ is the clear leader in the quantum computing pure-play sector of the market, and its results back it up. For 2026, the company expects to achieve revenue of $235 million. That's pretty high revenue for a company that's still working on improving its technology before it can be widely deployed. YouTube is expanding its likeness detection technology, which identifies AI-generated deepfakes, to a pilot group of government officials, political candidates, and journalists, the company announced Tuesday. Members of the pilot group will gain access to a tool that detects unauthorized AI-generated content and lets them request its removal if they believe it violates YouTube policy. The technology itself launched last year to roughly 4 million YouTube creators in the YouTube Partner Program, following earlier tests. Similar to YouTube’s existing Content ID system, which detects copyright-protected material in users’ uploaded videos, the likeness detection feature looks for simulated faces made with AI tools. These tools are sometimes used to try to spread misinformation and manipulate people’s perception of reality, as they leverage the deepfaked personas of notable figures — like politicians or other government officials — to say and do things in these AI videos that they didn’t in real life. With the new pilot program, YouTube aims to balance users’ free expression with the risks associated with AI technology that can generate a convincing likeness of a public figure. “This expansion is really about the integrity of the public conversation,” said Leslie Miller, YouTube’s Vice President of Government Affairs and Public Policy, in a press briefing ahead of Tuesday’s launch. “We know that the risks of AI impersonation are particularly high for those in the civic space. But while we are providing this new shield, we’re also being careful about how we use it,” she noted. Image Credits:YouTube Miller explained that not all of the detected matches would be removed when requested. Instead, YouTube would evaluate each request under its existing privacy policy guidelines to determine whether the content is parody or political critique, which are protected forms of free expression. The company noted it’s advocating for these protections at a federal level, too, with its su...

The semiconductor industry has flourished over the past couple of years, and the bull run continues into 2026. Robust demand, fueled by the optimism surrounding artificial intelligence (AI), led to a massive surge in semiconductor sales in 2024 and 2025. This year has again started on a high note, with sales surging in January and poised to grow further, driven by a solid AI infrastructure boom. Given this scenario, it would be ideal to invest in semiconductor stocks, such as Analog Devices ADI, NXP Semiconductors NXPI, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited TSM and NVIDIA Corporation NVDA,which have great potential for growth this year. Semiconductor Sales Jump in January Semiconductor sales totaled $82.5 billion sequentially in January, up 3.7% from December’s total of $79.6 billion, the Semiconductor Industry Association (“SIA”) reported last week. On a year-over-year basis, semiconductor sales jumped a solid 46.1% from January 2025’s total of $56.5 billion. John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO, said, “Following the semiconductor industry’s highest-ever sales total in 2025, the global chip market continued to grow in January of this year, topping December’s results and far outpacing sales from January of last year.” This comes after a solid 2025 wherein semiconductor sales totaled $791.7 billion, a year-over-year jump of 25.6% from $630.5 billion. Microchips have become key to nearly every modern and emerging technology, including IoT, 6G, and AI. Robust demand from the automotive sector has also been helping boost sales. Meanwhile, the AI sphere remains vast and still largely untapped, prompting major technology companies to invest billions of dollars into its development. As AI applications continue to grow, the use of specialized AI chips is expanding from high-end data centers to everyday consumer electronics. As of March 2026, the industry is no longer asking if Intel can survive; they are asking if its ambitious "IDM 2.0" strategy—transitioning into a world-class foundry while maintaining its design edge—can finally deliver consistent alpha for investors. With the high-volume launch of the 18A process node and the rise of the AI PC, Intel is no longer just a legacy processor company; it is a test case for the future of American semiconductor manufacturing. Historical Background Founded in 1968 by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore, Intel was the architect of the digital age. Its shift from memory chips to microprocessors in the 1970s, led by the legendary Andy Grove, established the x86 architecture as the global standard for personal computing and data centers. For decades, "Intel Inside" was synonymous with performance leadership, underpinned by Moore’s Law. However, the 2010s saw a period of complacency. Struggles with the 10nm and 7nm process nodes allowed Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to seize the manufacturing lead, while Advanced Micro Devices (Nasdaq: AMD) utilized TSMC’s superior nodes to gain massive ground in the server and desktop markets. By the time Pat Gelsinger returned as CEO in 2021, Intel was a company in crisis, trailing in both process technology and the burgeoning AI accelerator market dominated by NVIDIA (Nasdaq: NVDA). Business Model Intel’s business model has undergone a radical transformation into two distinct, yet symbiotic, entities: Intel Products: This includes the Client Computing Group (CCG), which dominates the laptop and desktop markets; the Data Center and AI (DCAI) division, housing the Xeon processor line a...

Mirra Andreeva’s Indian Wells title defense met a bad-tempered end on Monday as Katerina Siniakova stunned the Russian teenager 4-6, 7-6, 6-3. The 18-year-old opened her bid to retain her crown with a dominant 6-0, 6-0 demolition of Solana Sierra. But she was in trouble early and often against Siniakova, the world No 44, in a rollercoaster contest that ended with a shot from the Czech that hit the net cord and dribbled over in one last frustrating moment. Andreeva threw her racket as she approached the net before gesturing and appearing to swear at the crowd several times as she left the court. “I’m not really proud of how I managed it,” said Andreeva, but added the profanities picked up by courtside microphones weren’t directed at the fans. “It was to myself, to everyone, basically,” said Andreeva. “I mean, after the loss, I just get very angry, so I say those things sometimes to myself. I mean, first to myself, of course, but then, yeah, it was just anger coming out, just a lot of emotions. Not really towards anyone.” Andreeva has admitted she has struggled to contain her emotions throughout her young career, and after Monday’s loss she said it was an area she needs to address. “Those are the things that [I] really need to work on soon,” she said. “I don’t know. Not in the future but whenever I get the chance. Yeah, I hope that I can work on it and I get better in that, as well.” Siniakova, a former doubles number one, admitted the net cord shot was an awkward way to seal the win in a match that featured seven service breaks for each player and 43 break chances between them. “Of course I’m happy [the ball] went on the other side,” she said. “I was, like, should I cheer? It’s a really tricky finish. But definitely I will not say I’m not happy.” Andreeva’s gestures after the match were not her first outburst of the day. She threw her racket after losing the second set tiebreaker before smashing it, resulting in a code violation. She regrouped to break Siniakova for ...
