Shares of AI server leader Super Micro Computer (NASDAQ: SMCI) plunged 36.4% in January, according to data from S&P Global Market Intelligence . Super Micro had rallied heading into the month, but the stock experienced another sharp pullback after selling common stock and convertible notes . Despite the share sales being necessary only for large orders, investor trust in Super Micro is rather low right now, and the market appears to have priced in the dilution effects of the securities sales without much, or any, of the benefits. In addition to the early month dilution announcements, more Super Micro employees were arrested in Taiwan as part of the country's efforts to clamp down on illegal smuggling of AI servers to China. Arcutis Biotherapeutics ( ARQT ) announced on Wednesday that the U.S. FDA accepted a supplemental New Drug Application for expanding the label of its Zoryve 0.05% cream for infants with atopic dermatitis, also known as eczema. The treatment is already available in the U.S. for children aged two to five years with AD, a skin condition characterized by severe itching. The sNDA seeks U.S. approval for Zoryve 0.05% as a topical therapy for infants aged 3 months to 24 months with mild-to-moderate atopic dermatitis. AD represents a significantly unmet medical need among infants in the U.S., with nearly a million children younger than two years receiving topical treatments for the condition. “This sNDA acceptance underscores the gap in approved treatments for very young children with atopic dermatitis," said Arcutis ( ARQT ) CEO Frank Watanabe. “If approved, investigational ZORYVE cream 0.05% would be the first once-daily advanced targeted topical treatment for this especially vulnerable patient population,” he added. The FDA has issued February 23, 2027, as the target action date for the sNDA. More on Arcutis Biotherapeutics Arcutis Biotherapeutics, Inc. JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Supermicro ( SMCI ) announced a new collaboration with Everpure ( P ) and IBM's ( IBM ) Red Hat to launch Kubernetes Edge AI appliances. It is intended to simplify edge AI deployments through a package preloaded with software and hardware. Supermicro provides the hardware foundation, Red Hat OpenShift provides the cloud container platform and Everpure's Portworx supplies the data services. "AI inferencing at the edge requires more than just hardware—it demands a validated, scalable platform that customers can deploy with confidence," said Supermicro Chief Business Officer Vik Malyala . "Together with Red Hat and Everpure, we are delivering a turnkey Kubernetes Edge AI Appliance that simplifies deployment, accelerates time-to-revenue, and enables customers to efficiently scale AI workloads across distributed edge environments." Supermicro has validated a full-stack edge Kubernetes solution, powered by the industry's leading Kubernetes-driven hybrid cloud application platform, Red Hat OpenShift , and the first Kubernetes data management platform tailored for AI workloads from Portworx by Everpure. "In collaboration with Supermicro and Everpure, we are committed to empowering customers with a supported, integrated, and high-performance solution that accelerates their time-to-value for AI inferencing at the edge," said Kelly Switt , senior director of Intelligent Edge and Industrial Business Lead at Red Hat. Red Hat is owned by IBM ( IBM ), but it operates as an independent business unit. "Enterprises deploying AI at the edge face a critical infrastructure gap, they need enterprise-grade storage and data protection, but they can't run traditional arrays in environments like retail stores or factory floors," said Greg Muscarella , general manager of Portworx by Everpure. "Together with Supermicro and Red Hat, we're delivering a validated, turnkey solution that combines Portworx services customers rely on like consistent managem...
