J.P. Morgan kept its Overweight rating and $200 price target on the stock. "While the supply constraints do moderate expectations around the magnitude of upsides that the bull-case incorporated coming into the print, we see limited moderation of the long-term demand drivers that have driven our expectations for around mid-30% growth in the medium-term, with potential greater upsides from the realization of deferred revenue into in-period revenue once there is more significant progress on acceptance clauses, which is currently a significant headwind with product deferred revenue increasing by ~$643 mn to ~$3.63 bn in F1Q," said analysts led by Samik Chatterjee. The analysts noted that Arista’s results highlighted the long-term growth drivers that position thecompany well for robust demand, with the notable highlights included: a large tier 1 hyperscaler (the analysts believe, based on industry checks, to be Microsoft (MSFT)) starting its transition to leveraging Ethernet from InfiniBand in the back-end; conquest wins with a Neo-cloud customer relative to white-box products; and a surge in revenue in relation to scale-across opportunities, while scale-out revenue continues to expand at a robust pace. "That said, the strong pace of demand increases are running into hurdles of capacity, which is not specific to Arista but visible across the supply chain, including de-commits in relation to supply from semiconductor companies, leading Arista to now expect translation of some of the demand upsides into revenue to be pushed out of this year," said Chatterjee and his team. Karlis Dambrans German defense supplier Renk ( RNKGF ) reported stronger-than-expected order intake for the first quarter on Wednesday, supported by robust demand in its core military vehicle business, which helped push its backlog to a record level. The Augsburg-based company, known for producing transmissions used in platforms such as the Leopard 2 battle tank as well as naval propulsion systems, has been a beneficiary of increased defense spending across Europe. New orders rose 6.1% to 582.3 million euros ($683.2 million), exceeding the 557.4 million euros analysts had anticipated, according to a company-compiled consensus. Much of the growth came from Renk’s vehicle mobility solutions unit, where orders climbed 20.5%. Revenue increased 4% to 283.6 million euros, broadly matching expectations. The company noted that some shipments and related revenue have been pushed into later quarters due to ongoing logistics disruptions. Renk’s order backlog reached 6.9 billion euros at the end of March, up from 5.5 billion euros a year earlier. Adjusted earnings before interest and taxes rose 10.4% to 42.4 million euros, surpassing analyst forecasts of 40.9 million euros. The corresponding margin improved to 15.0% from 14.1% a year ago. The company reaffirmed its outlook for 2026, projecting revenue above 1.5 billion euros and adjusted EBIT in the range of 255 million to 285 million euros. AMD surged 19% , the most since October, after a flood of AI data-center spending buoyed its sales forecast. Oil slid after Axios reported that the US and Iran were nearing an understanding to end the war. The S&P 500 Index rose 1.5%, with nine of 11 sectors in the green, led by industrials and tech. With oil slumping, energy stocks saw the biggest declines, falling 4.1%. The Nasdaq 100 Index gained 2.1%, also closing at a record, while West Texas Intermediate crude oil retreated about 7% to around $95 per barrel. News the US and Iran were circling around a fresh proposal to end the war buoyed sentiment. President Donald Trump, in remarks to PBS, said the war had “a very good chance” of ending, and it’s possible a deal can be reached before his visit to China next week. Still, shipping companies remained wary about sending vessels through the Strait of Hormuz. AMD, the leading challenger to Nvidia Corp. in AI computing chips, was among top S&P 500 gainers. An upbeat outlook from the second-biggest maker of computer processors positioned the sector for further advances after semiconductors and memory stocks helped propel the S&P 500 to a record close on Tuesday. “The big picture takeaway is that the AI trade is alive and well,” said Jack Janasiewicz , a portfolio manager at Natixis Advisors. He highlighted rising earnings-per-share and net margin estimates while stock multiples were holding steady. Highlighting the breadth of the rally, the S&P 500 equal-weighted index also closed at a record.
