Democrats In Illinois Just Lost Hundreds Of Violent Criminals Authored by Steve Watson via Modernity.news, In yet another glaring example of failed “criminal justice reform” in blue cities, Cook County, Illinois officials have admitted that 243 dangerous criminals have gone completely AWOL from the county’s pretrial electronic monitoring program. These include individuals charged with murder, attempted murder, and sexual assault — all supposed to be tracked by ankle monitors while awaiting trial instead of sitting in jail. The revelation comes straight from Cook County Chief Judge Charles Beach II’s new transparency dashboard, which shows roughly 3,048 people currently on the program with 8 percent unaccounted for. 🚨 HOLY CRAP!! Cook County, Illinois Democrats ran a pre-trial program for murders and sexual assaulters so they WOULDN'T BE IN JAIL awaiting trial... ...and 8% OF THEM JUST WENT MISSING! Untraceable. 243 criminals — including murderers, attempted murderers, and sexual… pic.twitter.com/bou1YVobHu — Eric Daugherty (@EricLDaugh) May 14, 2026 Of the criminals that have gone missing, 21 have been charged with murder, 13 with attempted murder, 103 with sexual assault, and 173 with aggravated battery. A former Illinois police chief summed it up bluntly: “They have NO idea where they’re at. NONE. ZERO.” 🚨 THIS CANT HAPPEN! Cook County, Illinois just admitted they LOST TRACK of 243 criminals on ankle monitors, including 21 MURDERERS and 13 attempted murderers. One of them was out on monitoring when he shot and killed a police officer and injured another during an armed robbery… pic.twitter.com/vPbE1ACawK — Gunther Eagleman™ (@GuntherEagleman) May 14, 2026 The criminals were supposed to be on ankle monitors. Instead, they’re lost, prompting what the report called a “wild goose chase.” State’s Attorney Eileen O’Neill Burke called the figures alarming and warned of more victims if safeguards aren’t tightened. Phynart Studio/iStock via Getty Images Thesis A lot of plastic technically can be recycled, but after it’s recycled once or twice, it usually becomes junky plastic. It smells weird, changes color, gets weaker, and can’t really be used for high-quality products anymore. PureCycle Technologies, Inc. ( PCT ) is addressing this issue by focusing on a special plastic that is known as Polypropylene . It is used in cup and container manufacturing for things like yogurt, shampoo, food, and car parts, to name just a few items. Polypropylene can be found in many everyday household products; however, recycling them properly has historically been troublesome. Their technology, which originally came from Procter & Gamble ( PG ) basically acts like a purification system. They take old polypropylene plastic waste, melt it down, and clean it to remove dyes, bad smells, oils, labels, chemical additives, and any other leftover traces from how the plastic was previously used. Technically speaking, it’s a solvent-based purification or dissolution process. Manufacturers then purchase the processed, clean, plastic, pelletized raw materials. Growing pressure on major brands and governments to use more recycled materials makes this especially significant. Seeking Alpha Yesterday, PCT caught my attention after its stock closed up more than 20%. The company announced that its PureFive resin now qualifies as PCR, or “ postconsumer recycled content ,” under New Jersey’s Recycled Content Law after receiving a one-year conditional approval from the NJDEP (New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection). PCT will now spend the next 12 months working toward permanent approval. But is this catalyst worth chasing? PureCycle Technologies: Cool Tech, Scary Price Tag PureCycle Technologies has always been a weird company to figure out. Is this a chemical company, a recycling business, or a tech startup? It turns out that PureCycle fits all three categories, although defining this business is becomin...

India will partner with the United Arab Emirates to expand its strategic crude and gas reserves, a key step for the world’s third-largest oil consumer to guard against future supply disruptions. Abu Dhabi National Oil Co . will explore a multifold increase in its crude oil storage in India to 30 million barrels, according to a statement by the Indian government. The nations will also work together to set up strategic gas reserves in India, and potentially oil storage in the UAE port of Fujairah that lies outside the Strait of Hormuz. No timelines were disclosed for the projects. The initial agreements, announced during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi ’s brief stopover in Abu Dhabi enroute to Europe, comes as the Iran war and the near-closure of Hormuz have caused one of the biggest supply disruptions in history. India, which imports half of its crude, two-thirds of liquefied natural gas and most of its liquefied petroleum gas from the Middle East, has been severely impacted. Read More: India, UAE Agree to Strategic Defense Partnership Framework The squeeze has exposed New Delhi’s inadequate crude stockpiles and its lack of any gas reserves, which led to rationing of fuel supplies to industries and Modi’s nationwide call to save fuel by cutting unnecessary transport. The agreements will also give the UAE access to oil outside the Persian Gulf. The near-shuttering of the Hormuz waterway has slashed the country’s exports and left it dependent on shipments through Fujairah in the Gulf of Oman. The UAE on Friday said a new oil pipeline to the port will be operational by next year, allowing it to double overseas flows from Fujairah. Also Read: UAE Will Double Oil Export Capacity Bypassing Hormuz by 2027 OPEC Exit The UAE, India’s fourth-largest crude supplier, is also seeking to capture a greater share of of markets after its exit from the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries freed it from the group’s production limits. FabrikaCr/iStock via Getty Images The US stock market surged to yet another record high on Thursday, a new milestone that suggests a rising tide is lifting all equity sectors. Yet reviewing the market through a risk-factor lens tells a more nuanced story, revealing a wide dispersion of trends that have emerged since the conflict with Iran began on Feb. 28, based on a set of ETFs through yesterday’s close (May 14). The results suggest that much of the difference between equity-portfolio strategies during the war regime period can be traced to factor allocations. For example, among the winning strategies of late, there’s a good chance that the portfolios have relatively high allocations to the momentum factor, intentionally or otherwise. The momentum factor is the clear leader, outperforming the rest of the field by a wide margin. The iShares MSCI USA Momentum Factor ETF ( MTUM ) has surged 21.6% since the attack started nearly three months ago. The next-strongest performer is large-cap growth ( IWV ) with a 16.3% rally. Both funds are posting sharply higher gains vs. the market benchmark via SPDR S&P 500 ETF ( SPY ), which is up 9.4% since Feb. 28. Most equity factors are trailing the broad market ( SPY ), including one downside outlier. The low-volatility factor has delivered especially poor results since the start of the conflict, which has shifted to a precarious stalemate that continues to block energy exports from the Gulf. The iShares MSCI Minimum Volatility ETF ( USMV ) has lost 2.3% since Feb. 28. Despite the headline strength in equities, the widening gap between factor winners and laggards underscores how uneven the market’s internal dynamics have become. Momentum’s dominance and low volatility’s slump suggest investors are rewarding exposure to persistent trends while shunning defensive positioning, even as geopolitical risk remains elevated. That divergence is a reminder that record highs can mask shifting fault lines beneath the surface—fault lines that ...

New products are the lifeblood of any company. Think about it this way. Apple consistently refreshes the iPhone while Nvidia frequently updates its lineup of artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors. Of course, the list goes on. Though significantly pricier and far less consumer-facing than an iPhone, product launches and upgrades are critical elements in evaluating aerospace stocks , including Boeing (NYSE: BA) . Recent history indicates Boeing has a checkered record with safety certifications for new passenger aircraft, something that can weigh on shares of one of the largest industrial companies . However, Boeing is getting its act together on the safety and production fronts, and those improvements could benefit investors. Continue reading
