Key Points OpenAI is aiming to go public as soon as September. The company could burn through hundreds of billions of dollars before 2030. Its recent growth has been disappointing. These 10 stocks could mint the next wave of millionaires › The AI sector is about to get even bigger. According to several media reports, OpenAI, the ChatGPT creator is aiming to file confidentially for an IPO in the coming weeks with the goal of going public as soon as September. Will AI create the world's first trillionaire? Our team just released a report on the one little-known company, called an "Indispensable Monopoly" providing the critical technology Nvidia and Intel both need. Continue » The news comes as another blockbuster IPO, SpaceX, is headed for the public markets. Elon Musk's space exploration is set to go public as soon as June after filing confidentially in April. OpenAI's offering is likely to attract a ton of attention as the company itself kicked off the AI boom and remains, arguably, the leader today. It's forged close relationships with many of the top chipmakers like Nvidia and AMD, and Nvidia and several other top tech companies own stakes in the start-up. It's too soon to judge OpenAI's IPO prospects, as we don't know its key financial information, but the timing of the offering gives us some clues into how it will do. Where OpenAI is today OpenAI's decision to go public comes as Anthropic, the AI start-up that owns the chatbot Claude, has gone from an underdog in the AI race a couple of years ago to arguably the leader. Anthropic is currently in talks to raise new funding at a valuation between $900 billion and $950 billion, which would make it more valuable than OpenAI, which was valued at $852 billion in its last funding round in March. In addition to Anthropic's valuation topping OpenAI's, Anthropic also seems to be the faster-growing of the two. Anthropic's revenue is expected to more than double from $4.8 billion in the first quarter to $10.9 billion in the...

(RTTNews) - The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission, or ACCC, stated that Coles Supermarkets Australia and Brownes Foods Operations have each paid A$39,600 in penalties after the ACCC issued each company with two infringement notices for separate alleged contraventions of the Dairy Code of Conduct. The ACCC said Coles breached the Code by publishing two separate milk supply agreements that required the supplier to provide milk exclusively to Coles, while also imposing a cap on the maximum volume of milk that could be produced. Brownes breached the Code by publishing two milk supply agreements that did not clearly specify the minimum prices that applied throughout the entire supply period. Shares of Coles Group are trading at A$21.46, up 0.023%. The views and opinions expressed herein are the views and opinions of the author and do not necessarily reflect those of Nasdaq, Inc.

UN gravely concerned by an Afghan Taliban law that has provisions on child marriage toggle caption Dar Yasin/AP KABUL, Afghanistan — The United Nations expressed "grave concern" on Thursday about a new law issued by Afghanistan's Taliban government on separation in marriage which includes provisions on child marriage, saying the code further entrenches discrimination against women and girls. The government rejected the accusations, saying the decree follows Islamic law and insisting the country has already banned the forced marriage of girls. Afghanistan's justice ministry published Decree No. 18 "on judicial separation of spouses" last week, which sets out rules for separation of a married couple. Among its most controversial provisions, it says that the silence of a girl reaching puberty can be interpreted as consent to marriage. It also includes a section on the separation of girls who reach puberty and are married, which "implies that child marriage is permitted," the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) said in a statement. Sponsor Message "This undermines the principle of free and full consent and failing to safeguard the best interests of the child," it said. The decree stipulates that a marriage can be ruled invalid "if a father or grandfather has given a minor girl or boy without any dowry, not enough dowry or obscene embezzlement." It also says that a girl given away in marriage by her father or grandfather to a man who "has not treated her with kindness or is well-known for his bad choices...has the right to approach the court to cancel the marriage contract upon reaching puberty." However, if a girl asks her husband for a divorce and he denies it, "then in this case, there are no witnesses with the girl, the husband's word is valid," the new law says. She does not need witnesses if she makes the request before a judge. Women and girls already face widespread discrimination in Afghanistan, with laws dictating how they must dress and be...

Trump says he's sending 5,000 more troops to Poland toggle caption Jacquelyn Martin/AP WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump on Thursday said the U.S. will send an additional 5,000 troops to Poland, stirring confusion following weeks of changing statements from Trump and his administration about reducing — not increasing — the American military footprint in Europe. The Trump administration has said it was reducing levels in Europe by about 5,000 troops, and U.S. officials confirmed about 4,000 service members were no longer deploying to Poland. Trump's social media announcement raises more uncertainty for European allies that have been blindsided by the changes as the administration has complained about NATO members not shouldering enough of the burden of their own defense and failing to do more to support the Iran war. Sponsor Message "Based on the successful Election of the now President of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, who I was proud to Endorse, and our relationship with him, I am pleased to announce that the United States will be sending an additional 5,000 Troops to Poland," Trump said on Truth Social. Trump and the Pentagon have said in recent weeks that they were drawing down at least 5,000 troops in Germany after Chancellor Friedrich Merz said the U.S. was being "humiliated" by the Iranian leadership and criticized what he called a lack of strategy in the war. Trump then told reporters at the beginning of the month that the U.S. would be "cutting a lot further than 5,000." As of last week, some 4,000 troops from the Army's 2nd Armored Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division were no longer en route to Poland. The Associated Press reported that the canceled deployment was part of an effort to comply with Trump's order to reduce the number of troops in Europe. A deployment to Germany of personnel trained to fire long-range missiles also was halted. Democratic and Republican lawmakers alike criticized the reductions as sending the wrong signal both to allies and Russ...
