(This is The Best Stocks in the Market , brought to you by Josh Brown and Sean Russo of Ritholtz Wealth Management.) Josh — Of all the horrendous nonsense we were forced to entertain this spring, none of it was more horrendously nonsensical than the idea of people vibe-coding their own cybersecurity solutions. I was sitting in the office with Batnick one afternoon and we noticed CrowdStrike and Palo Alto dropping double-digits intra-day. He's like "they're saying cyber stocks are the next AI disruption group." I remember saying "Get the **** outta here" and wishing I didn't already have a full position in CRWD with a cost basis in the 100's. Anyway, that ended up being as laughable a few months later as it sounded at the time. The big cyber stocks are up huge right now. It's perhaps the only area in software where investors see the AI revolution as a growth catalyst rather than an existential threat. Plain and simple: Cybersecurity is the one line item on the corporate IT budget that's non-negotiable and guaranteed to grow as far as the eye can see. And, paradoxically, the better AI gets, the less these companies can be disrupted because of how dangerous the potential hacking threats will become. This puts it in its own category and separates it from the Salesforces and the Atlassians of the world. When Anthropic was forced to disclose a highly disturbing development involving its Mythos model detecting hundreds of security flaws at some of the largest corporate entities in the world, it created something called Project Glasswing to address the problem. This initiative's purpose is to bring together some of the most systemically important players on the web to find solutions to these flaws before the bad guys get access to newer, more powerful AI tools. The list of partner companies named in the Glasswing press release included Amazon Web Services, Anthropic, Apple, Broadcom, Cisco, CrowdStrike, Google, JPMorgan Chase, the Linux Foundation, Microsoft, Nvidia and Pal...

Anthropic has become one of the leading AI companies in the world, thanks to the success of its Claude large language models. It is reportedly in talks with several investors to raise $30B at a valuation of $900B. Pope Leo XIV, who is the first leader of the Catholic Church from the U.S., will give the address on May 25. Olah will be joined by Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, and Cardinal Víctor Manuel Fernández, who are both expected to discuss AI. Pope Leo XIV has made references to AI in many of his speeches and is expected to discuss its impact on humanity, both positive and negative. The consensus EPS Estimate is $3.41 , which is a 4.2% Y/Y decrease, while revenue is likely to come in at $41.51B, translating to a 4.1% Y/Y jump. Over the last 3 months, EPS estimates have seen no upward revisions and 22 downward moves. Revenue estimates have seen 5 upward revisions and 13 downward moves, representing a cautious approach from analysts ahead of the earnings. Same-store sales are expected to grow at a rate close to 1%, as per Seeking Alpha analyst Luca Socci . “What would swing the needle and change the tide for the stock would be a print above 2%, but I doubt we will see it…” the analyst said. Gross margin is seen around 33% while operating margins are projected to be between 12.8% and 13%. Socci believes the main metric to watch out for will be the FY26 guidance, especially regarding comparable sales. He will specifically look out for cues on how the spring season is doing, “since it is a very favorable time for HD's customers to renovate their homes.” Over the last 1 year, HD has beaten EPS estimates 25% of the time and has beaten revenue estimates 75% of the time, building up some optimism for investors. However, HD has had a bull run so far in the year, declining over 12% compared to an 8% rise in the broader markets. When Windows 11 launched in 2021, we mostly liked its refreshed look—the rounded corners and menus with just a hint of translucency were a nice change from the flat colors and hard corners of the Windows 8/10 era. But its reformulated taskbar and Start menu came with a number of functional regressions from the versions in Windows 10. Some of these were addressed quickly; others continue to linger. A new Windows Insider Preview build released to testers includes a new wave of improvements that fix longstanding regressions while trying out new things. Most significantly, the Windows 11 taskbar can now be docked to any edge of your screen, including the left and right, something that was possible in Windows 10 (and many older versions of Windows) but has been missing from Windows 11 since launch. Users can configure slightly different taskbar behavior for every taskbar position—if you prefer a different icon alignment or a left/right-mounted taskbar over a top/bottom-mounted taskbar, or if you want different settings for labels and icon groupings, you can choose different options for each position and Windows will remember them. Gearstd/iStock via Getty Images Shares of Regeneron Pharmaceuticals, Inc. ( REGN ) are trading lower at the start of the week as investors are reacting to late last week’s news of fianlimab and Libtayo failing to show a statistically significant treatment benefit in first-line metastatic melanoma. This was a surprising outcome considering the very strong phase 1 data this LAG-3 and PD-1 combination showed and the clinical success of Opdualag, Bristol-Myers Squibb’s ( BMY ) LAG-3/PD-1 combination, which is approved for the same indication. But this sometimes happens in clinical development, and this combination was, by no means, an asset on which Regeneron’s future depended on. In my January article on Regeneron, I said I wanted to see the combination add at least 4-5 months of progression-free survival ('PFS') versus the control arms (Keytruda and Libtayo monotherapy) to consider the combination a viable commercial opportunity. Ironically, the high-dose combination delivered a 5.1 month difference, but the PFS of both arms was higher than what Opdualag delivered versus Opdivo in its phase 3 trial, resulting in a lower hazard ratio and a narrow miss on statistical significance. This is unfortunate for Regeneron, but life goes on, and I continue to see the company as well-positioned for long-term value creation. I recently added the stock to Growth Stock Forum’s model portfolio, and I am a buyer today with a rating upgrade to strong buy due to the recent pullback and fianlimab-based combinations not being on the critical path to value creation. Fianlimab And Libtayo Are No Better Than Opdualag That is my main conclusion from last week’s topline press release. The very promising phase 1 data are often just that, promising, with no guarantee of success. The results Regeneron shared a few years ago were very impressive with a PFS of 24 months, but this was from a phase 1 trial with no control group, and these results always need to be taken with caution. The results regr...

Lea en español A raft of Venezuelan companies are looking to sell shares on the local stock exchange as the market wakes up after more than a decade of near paralysis under the socialist rule of former president Nicolas Maduro . Around 10 local companies are expected to make initial or secondary share offerings in the local market in the next four months as trading volumes soar, said Jose Grasso Vecchio, president of the Caracas Stock Exchange. The exchange itself is offering 2.6 million new shares in an offer that launched last week. The market “is recovering at an amazing pace,” Grasso Vecchio said in an interview from his office. “Interest is very high.” Activity on the exchange picked up last year after some 15 years of torpor triggered by hyperinflation, exchange controls and restrictive government policies. But it was after Maduro’s capture by US forces in January that things really began to change. Acting President Delcy Rodriguez has since cooperated with the Donald Trump administration to open up the economy and boost investment in the energy sector, prompting Washington to ease some restrictions on the country. Read More: Venezuela Kickstarts $170 Billion Debt Restructuring Process Grasso Vecchio expects trading volumes to top $1 billion in 2026 for the first time in almost two decades, even as restrictions remain on banks and foreigners to invest. Volumes are up 30% in the first quarter from the same period of 2025, helping to push up the benchmark index almost 60% in dollar terms in the year to date, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. The exchange currently has fewer than 40 listed companies, down from almost 100 in the late 1990s, before Hugo Chavez first became president and ushered in a quarter-century of socialism. Total market capitalization in dollars stands at about $20 billion, almost double from last year, according to data gathered by Caracas-based brokerage Fivenca. The rally in the index this year is nearly four times the gain posted by...

Russian Drone Hits Chinese Ship In Black Sea, Less Than 24-Hours Before Xi-Putin Summit Just 24 hours before Presidents Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping are set to meet for their planned summit in Beijing, soon on the heels of Trump's visit, and a geopolitical wrench may have just been thrown into the works. According to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Russian forces have attacked a Chinese ship heading toward a Ukrainian port - a provocative move that threatens to seriously anger Beijing at the worst possible diplomatic moment. via Ukraine Navy Early Monday morning, a Russian drone reportedly struck the KSL Deyang, a vessel flying under the Marshall Islands flag , just off the coast of Ukraine, Reuters also confirms. The ship was reportedly empty at the time while en route to Ukraine's Pivdennyi port in the Odesa region to load up on iron ore concentrate. A fire was observed on board, but it was quickly brought under control and extinguished, with the vessel escaping severe damage. The Ukrainian government is alleging this wasn't some kind of accidental fog-of-war blunder, with President Zelensky immediately calling out Moscow : “Drones struck Odesa ... and one of the UAVs hit a vessel owned by China. The Russians could not have been unaware of what vessel was at sea,” Zelensky said. A Ukrainian navy spokesman told AFP that none of the crew members, all Chinese nationals , were injured. He added that the vessel continued on its journey. “The ship was entering for loading. After it was hit at night by a Shahed, the crew coped with the consequences on their own. Fortunately, no one was injured, and the vessel continued on its way to its port of destination,” navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said. The incident went down just after on Sunday Xi and Putin had just exchanged "congratulatory letters" to set the stage for Putin's upcoming arrival in Beijing. The China-owned vessel wasn't the only ship attacked within that span of time. According to The Independent : R...
