watch now VIDEO 1:50 01:50 Options Action: Nvidia options volumes jump Options Action There's a popular saying in the options pits: Sell a tiny, buy a Lamborghini. It refers of course to the practice of selling dollar cheap out of the money options and collecting the premium for a high probability bet. As those tinies grow, you make a small fortune over time. Of course, there's a flip side to that, the investors who bought those worthless options. Nvidia price action Monday is a good illustration of that concept. Options traders in Nvidia are on pace for another rough session as the stock drops Monday, down more than 6.5% from highs on Thursday and rendering some of the most popular short-term contracts worthless – again. Stock Chart Icon Stock chart icon Nvdia, 5-days Upwards of 15% of Nvidia options traded by midday Monday were contracts expiring at the end of the session, according to data compiled by SpotGamma. Among the most popular contracts were the 225 and 222.5-strike calls, each of which traded more than 220,000 times and were set to expire worthless after closing in the money on Friday. It's a repeat of Friday's session, when $114M of premium in the 235-strike calls slipped out of the money. Bulls don't seem dismayed despite the weakness. Nvidia options were the fifth-most traded in the market Monday, trailing the benchmark indexes and Tesla, with more than 3 million in contracts traded and total premium worth over $1.3 billion. Of that, $1 billion was tied to calls. Call volume outpaced puts by more than double on Monday, though more calls were exchanged at the bid or below, meaning likely sold, according to ThinkOrSwim data. Still, the four biggest options trades in the stock were all bullish call-buyers of expensive, in-the-money contracts expiring Friday, each totaling at least $10 million. Traders expect a 6.25% swing based on implied volatility around earnings, on par with usual expectations but larger than the average realized move of 3.2%, accordi...

Jonathan Kitchen/DigitalVision via Getty Images Introduction Credo Technology Group Holding Ltd. ( CRDO ) has been one of those names that has been picking up steam in terms of popularity, thanks to its stock price appreciation, as it gained over 208% over the past year. I want to dive into the company’s prospects so as to grasp if there is inherent value ahead for potential investors. Current Dynamics So what does Credo actually do? Due to the hype, you would have guessed right if it had something to do with data centers, as it manufactures and licenses 3 categories of high-speed connectivity products. With first, Active Electrical Cables that are copper cables with embedded SerDes chips that handle 800G/1.6T data rates over 7-meter intra-rack and rack-to-rack distances. This side of the business is estimated to account for around 73% of 2026’s revenue, and they displace optical transceivers in short-reach applications at around 50% of the power consumption and 1,000x the reliability, according to management. The firm also sells optical DSPs and pluggable transceivers, which are the fiscal 2027 growth engine, as this category is set to surpass $500MM in annual revenue as Credo digests the DustPhotonics acquisition. And finally, line card PHY, retimers, and SerDes IP licenses that are smaller but more concentrated revenue lines. So what has been captivating bulls in all of this? Well, the argument is that CRDO sits at the architectural crossroad of every AI rack, between GPUs, between accelerators, and the network fabric, and that is in essence true, but the real question is whether this position translates into a sustainable economic moat and whether the current valuation prices this moat correctly. The last quarterly print was rather historic, as the company posted $407MM in revenue, which was a 201% Y/Y increase and a 52% sequential increase, as well as an impressive $1.07 non-GAAP EPS, a beat of over 13 cents. Management also stated that the industry is in the e...

Leon Neal/Getty Images News Northrop Grumman ( NOC ) on Monday said it was been selected as one of five preferred payload providers in the Department of Defense’s Drone Dominance Program, a $1 billion effort aimed at rapidly scaling low-cost military drones and related systems. Northrop Grumman said its advanced fuze and warhead technologies deliver precision and reliability across a wide range of mission-critical applications (U.S. Army) The company said it will provide its Common UAS Payload, an off-the-shelf fuze and effects module designed for use across aerial, maritime and ground-based unmanned systems. The payload is intended to integrate with a variety of small drones without requiring major redesigns. The Drone Dominance Program is part of a broader Pentagon push to accelerate production of inexpensive, expendable drones that can be deployed in large numbers. The initiative aims to field more than 200,000 drones by 2027 as the U.S. military adapts to lessons from conflicts where low-cost unmanned systems have become increasingly important on the battlefield. For investors, the award highlights how defense spending is shifting toward scalable drone technology, munitions and autonomous systems rather than relying solely on large, high-cost weapons platforms. The program could create new revenue opportunities for defense contractors with existing manufacturing capacity and expertise in modular payloads, sensors and precision munitions. It also underscores growing Pentagon demand for systems that can be produced quickly and at lower cost. Northrop ( NOC ) said it has invested more than $2 billion in recent years in solid rocket motor production, munitions technologies and manufacturing facilities to support higher output levels and faster delivery schedules. “The Drone Dominance Program demands payloads ready to integrate and deploy immediately,” Tanya Santers, director of fuze and warheads at the company, said in the announcement. The company said its Common U...

PM Images/DigitalVision via Getty Images Investment Thesis Late last week, the US Senate finally confirmed Kevin Warsh as the new chair of the US Federal Reserve. After a few tumultuous months of ‘will-he-won’t-he,’ Kevin Warsh is now officially the 17th chair of the Federal Reserve. But this comes at a crucial juncture for the Fed and the US economy. Warsh inherits a Fed that has long been the target of political pressure and is coming in at a time when the first signs of strong inflation have begun to appear in both consumer and producer reports. Warsh also inherits a Fed that appears increasingly at odds with itself, as seen by the number of rising dissents, which could severely test the incoming Fed Chair’s calls for a “regime change.” For markets this could be untested territory, as investors face questions about just how Warsh plans to enact his policies of “regime change.” This could lead to weeks of volatility, supporting my calls to remain neutral. “Regime Change” Amidst An Increasingly Divided Fed A few days ago I wrote about how markets were buckling up for a new era of volatility on the back of the twin inflation reports that showed red-hot CPI and PPI numbers. In addition to inflation and all other macro uncertainties, I argue that markets now also have to deal with the new range of “regime change” policies that Warsh is looking to implement. Right off the bat, the sticking point for the US Fed is already the topic of interest rates. While the US Fed voted unanimously to maintain the interest rate at 3.65% at the meeting last month , four Fed officials dissented against the decision, marking the most number of dissents by Fed officials in a single meeting since 1992. While one dissent voted in favor of cutting rates immediately by 0.25%, the other three dissents came from policymakers who were against the Fed implying that they may cut rates in the future. That resulted in a Fed board that has not been this divided since 1992. Exhibit A: The US Fed has ...

Energy stocks often experience cyclical swings, but the top stocks tend to be strong long-term investments because the world will continually consume more energy. But instead of sticking with the classic oil and gas stocks to profit from that trend, investors should consider buying some higher-growth plays in the solar and nuclear energy markets. Both of those growing markets should benefit from global decarbonization initiatives, making them more resilient investments than the top fossil fuel stocks. If you want to profit from that shift, you should invest in these two higher-growth energy stocks: Nextpower (NASDAQ: NXT) in the solar market and BWX (NYSE: BWXT) in the nuclear market. PlayStation reportedly won't release its major single-player PlayStation games on PC anymore. According to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, Hermen Hulst, who heads up PlayStation's studios business, informed employees in a town hall on Monday about the change in strategy. Schreier had previously reported on the shift in March , saying that Sony scrapped plans to launch PC versions of last year's Ghost of Yōtei and "other internally developed games." Online games will still come to multiple platforms following this change in strategy, Schreier reported at the time. In recent years, Sony has released many of its biggest games on PC, including Spide … Read the full story at The Verge.
