J Studios/DigitalVision via Getty Images Yesterday marked the best stock market bounce at the end of a quarter since September 2008. Far from an all-clear sign, bounces like that are most common during bear markets (shown below, courtesy of Bespoke). Mean reversion has made some progress in the sell-off to date, but Berkshire Hathaway ( BRK.A ) is not parting with its cash pile just yet. The pile grew from ~$128B at the end of 2019 to a peak of $381.7B in Q3 2025 (dark blue above) - a near sevenfold increase - as Buffett sold stakes in Apple ( AAPL ) and Bank of America ( BAC ) while finding few acquisitions worth current pricing. The Q4 2025 figure dipped slightly to $373.3B, and the most recent filing (Q1 2025 in the 10-Q) shows cash at $343B. The Middle East war is making matters worse, and we hope for a quick resolution. But when it comes to markets and liquidity strains, problems go far deeper and will not be solved by an end to oil constraints. Market bottoms don’t come while the masses are still feeling optimistic enough to buy every dip. As retired market analyst Wally Deemer wisely quipped: “When it’s time to buy, you won’t want to.” That is when cash will be king, once more. SpaceX Files Confidentially For IPO, Setting Up Record-Breaking Offering SpaceX has confidentially filed for an IPO , potentially setting up a June listing on U.S. stock exchanges that could become the largest public offering ever. The offering could value the rocket, satellite, and AI company at more than $1.75 trillion and raise as much as $75 billion, far exceeding Saudi Aramco's 2019 IPO record. Bloomberg states that SpaceX has just submitted a draft IPO registration to the SEC for nonpublic review . That allows SEC staff to review the filing, ask questions, and require any changes before the company reveals all of its financials and offering details to the public. " The filing puts it on track for a June listing , which would make SpaceX the first of what could be a trio of mega-IPOs, ahead of OpenAI and Anthropic PBC," the outlet noted. A listing for SpaceX would raise $75 billion for the rocket company and dwarf Saudi Aramco's $29 billion debut in 2019. The money raised would be used to fund an "insane flight rate" for the Starship rocket and to push ahead with deploying orbital data centers in low Earth orbit . Sources familiar with the listing say that SpaceX has lined up Bank of America, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan, and Morgan Stanley for senior roles on the IPO. A report last week from The Wall Street Journal said that Musk wants to allocate upwards of 30% of the IPO stock to retail investors, far beyond the typical allocation. He is also exploring giving priority access to loyal supporters, such as Tesla shareholders and individuals who have backed his other ventures, reinforcing his pattern of rewarding his existing base. Last month, Morningstar released a note estimating that SpaceX generated nearly $16 billion in revenue in 2025 and $7.5 billion in EBITDA, driven "almost entirely by explosive subscriber growth" from its Starlink satellite internet unit, which had 10 million active customers as of March. The company forecasts revenue of $150 bil...

JHVEPhoto/iStock Editorial via Getty Images I've been covering Dave & Buster's ( PLAY ) for a while - trying to essentially determine when is a good time to enter this entertainment-related investment . It's clear to me that despite everything and all of the negatives which are certainly here, alongside risks, which are also certainly present, the company can be quite profitable. Not lately - the company's FCF in fact did go negative for FY 2025, and has been negative before. But what I am saying is that, barring something like the COVID-19 pandemic, this company is one that generates a fair bit of revenue. And when you generate growing revenue, which this company does, what you're looking at is finding ways to turn that into good profit. And honestly, the company is doing both of those things. D&B revenue/OI TIKR.com It's quite obvious even to a layman that any company that struggles to eke out an operating income that's significantly higher than 2020, when the 2025 revenue is almost 50% higher, is going through a bit of margin and profitability issues. That's fine - we can account and discount for that. The problem comes when investors do not discount for this pressure, which is what I believe investors have not been doing as of late. I t's why I was relatively bearish on the company's share price, and gave it a "HOLD" in my last article, found here . It's also why I was not surprised at the underperformance, even though the degree of underperformance was something that exceeded my overall expectations. Seeking Alpha D&B RoR So in this article, I will be addressing the company's recent results, which are causing a bit of a surge in the stock price following the low levels. Both SA and Wall Street have been positive on this company for a while - I meanwhile believe that Quant has had the right way of it for some time - rating the company anaemic or negative in growth, profit, and momentum, resulting in a negative rating or at the very least a neutral one of "wait a...
