UCB and Biogen ( BIIB ) on Monday said that their investigational drug dapirolizumab pegol met the primary endpoint in a phase 3 trial for systemic lupus erythematosus, with 50% of patients achieving a BICLA response at week 48 compared to 35% on placebo (p=0.011). The drug is an Fc-free CD40L inhibitor tested in moderate-to-severe active systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). BICLA is a composite endpoint measuring clinically relevant improvement of disease activity across all affected organ systems with no worsening in other lupus domains; a higher BICLA response rate reflects a treatment response and is associated with clinical benefit. Because the first key secondary endpoint was not met (BICLA response at week 24), subsequent outcomes were not controlled for multiplicity. Results in favor of DZP plus SOC were observed across multiple outcomes, including severe BILAG flares, SRI-4, SLEDAI-2K, skin- and joint-related outcomes, and the serological markers anti-dsDNA antibodies and complement C3 and C4, the companies said. Serious adverse events were less frequent with dapirolizumab pegol at 10% versus 14.8% on placebo. The confirmatory Phase 3 PHOENYCS FLY trial is currently recruiting patients. The broadcaster documents living with this debilitating, lifelong disease in a bid to help other sufferers. Plus: the soothing return of Springwatch. Here’s what to watch this evening 9pm, BBC Two “It’s like having a drill inside my stomach that is going down into my organs.” Broadcaster Emma Barnett lives with this extremely painful lifelong disease that affects one in 10 women – but about which medical experts still don’t know enough, largely because of the gender health gap. In this vital documentary, she is candid about her own story and hears from other women with the condition, as they demand more help. Hollie Richardson Continue reading...

Ekaterina Chizhevskaya/iStock Editorial via Getty Images Red Cat Holdings ( RCAT ) is pushing forward with ramping up the production of its unmanned surface vehicles [USVs] in an effort to participate in a potentially high-growth market for drone warfare. With the war in Iran and the Russia & Ukraine war presenting insights into the next generation of drones vs. missile defenses, investments in drone technology are expected to pick up in the US as well as among US allies in order to defend against sophisticated drone attacks in a cost-effective manner. With the outlay for drone investments in the US potentially increasing to $55b, Red Cat may be in an appealing position with an integrated, multi-surface drone platform that can monitor and engage potential threats. Given the growing opportunity for drone developers, I am reiterating my Buy rating for RCAT shares with a price target of $20.66/share. You can review my previous coverage of Red Cat here . Red Cat Operational Update Red Cat, along with peer drone developers, gained significant momentum in late May 2026 following the Trump Administration's announced plan for funding a cohort of domestic drone companies as part of the fiscal year 2027 defense budget. Accordingly, the administration is targeting $1.5t for FY27, placing drone dominance as a presidential priority as part of the budget. This will likely be associated with the previously announced $55b program request for the FY27 budget, titled the Defense Autonomous Warfare Group [DAWG], as well as the Pentagon's $1.1b initiative to build a 300,000 low-cost attack drone arsenal. It is clear that the Pentagon intends on modernizing defensive capabilities, particularly as the war in Iran drags on through Iran's use of low-cost drones to stress the US's PAC-3 missile defenses. To add some context, an Iranian drone costs anywhere between $20k and $50k vs. $4mm for a single PAC-3 interceptor. Red Cat's Black Widow platform may be a strong candidate for the US armed...
